The tool you used to remove the large flat head screws "is" and special tool in most DIY garages.

Great video! So I did my front brakes and blew out my power booster. I'm guessing it was just old, seals, etc. She has 200k miles. The rear pads are hollering but I'm hesitant to change them because I might jack up the booster again. Our mechanic suspects it happened before when I compressed the caliper pistons. Thoughts?

What are the torque specs on the caliper bolts? And what direction was the top pad clip facing, in or out? Facing in looks like it would rub on the disc.

One additional question, taking the original pads out there were very tight in the little stainless guides. Putting in the new PowerStop pads and guides the pads are also very tight. In other vehicles the pads always slid in with little to no force. I am guessing I need to file out either the guide area or the ears on the pads a little in order for them to slide feely. Must be something slightly out of tolerance on this Mazda.

clean stainless guides outside and then pop them out and clean rust/dirt/corrosion that builds up under it...that should take care of it, don't force pads on those guidelines if they don't want to go smooth , it might lock up the brakes

What do you do when your pins don't line up and your caliper won't seat down properly?

Lube pins make sure they move freely and push pins in while with other putting caliper on
