They were ahead of their times by about 15 to 20 years. Forced into a musical genre that didn't fully want them and rejected by the "old guard" that couldn't see the true beauty of their sound and the direction that country music would take in the future. These guys were super talented and now young people don't often get introduced to their music. Sad, sad, sad....
Ahead of my time by 25 years, but even today 40 years later I still listen to all their songs and most of them, this one in particular, hold quite true to my life.
Definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever., no all of their music is absolutely incredible.. but most definitely touches my heart in a beautiful way .. 💙
Incredible real music, I saw them twice in concert, once when the Caldwell brothers were with the band. I myself listen to there music often. I am 66 and enjoy the touching music of this band...
They took me across the country when I was only 26. From Texas to Jersey Shore. I wore out the tape, It broke as I pulled into the driveway, Fond memories at 57 now. Way before their time.
I'm so blessed that I grew up with this music because my Uncle Matt showed me the way. I'll always love you and think of you everyday! R.I.P UNCLE MATT!!
Looking back, could've done things differently. In the end her heart was never meant to stay on the ground, so she flew away to see that rainbow. Adios mi amore...........
MTB reminds me alot of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Both bands played with a large group of musicians with a melding of sounds. Horns, drums, fiddles, harmonica, steel and electric guitar etc. Much like the Texas Playboys, MTB didn't quite fit in. The Playboys were not a "Big Band" per say and Nashville rejected them. MTB were not "Rock" in the seventies and Nashville rejected them also. What these bands were though, is music legend. Some of the best musicianship, singing and writing and they were originators in the Country music industry that got respect after the fact.
Ah! The 70’s, death to disco, livin on Long Island, wearing overalls and smoking skunk weed acting like a wannabe cowboy. Time gone by too fast. So long Debi

This song is so sexy (that sax!) yet heart wrenching. Loved it when it first came out, still loving it today.

Carolina Dreams is 1 of the greatest, to see the Allman Bros/Marshall Tucker together would have been so great.
