The best comment from David was that as an old school reefer, he has never tested for PAR. I've been in the hobby since 1992 and I have also never cared for or tested for PAR. I look at my corals.

I'm currently keeping a 30 gallon NPS tank and while the work is painful sometimes, it is 100% worth the effort. I've also got a Pinkish-Orange Balanophyllia from Australia and by far the trickiest thing is that they only come out at night. Think of them like Vampires, they HATE the light and I don't think can be trained to come out during the day. Thank goodness they only need 2 feedings a week because having to feed every night at 1 in the mornign would make me kick it out after a week haha but it's been a month and so far so good.

How would I get in contact with David to get a rough idea or design plan on his sump with a cryptic on one side and refugium them on the other?
I’m building a new room right now and this is the way I wanna do it. His comments about small amounts of light actually helping the cryptic sum were intriguing.
Remi is going to end up with a satellite marco algae refugium or a fancy insump one :P

I did have a question for David. Whenever you are trying to save these specific corals are there any steps processes that you do daily to ensure better chance for survival?
David, what's your dosage amount for your kalk? Any advice on dosing kalk?
