Thank you Remy and Raj for having me on! It was nice to meet you, Raj, and always a pleasure, Remy. Appreciated the fun learning opportunity!
Until next time my friend! ~Remy
I was out for 22 days and my back scooter battery didnt activate cause there’s no brownout. Strong with milk and a4r.
It was great chatting; glad you were able to make it on with us
They way I've always look at and respected Telegraham's perspective, is that: he recognizes there is a spectrum.
There is in fact a high-end, a moderate-end, and a low-end. He doesn't market any of them, but he does a great job of keeping that needed graduation of equipment in the conversation.
Because it's too easily lost in hype, trends, and marketing. Reefing doesn't have to be nearly as expensive as we often make it, and providing that context is valuable, as it keeps even more reefer's in the hobby.
Absolutely. There’s room in the hobby for everyone and it’s wonderful that people are able to enjoy the hobby at all levels
Second thought... the connections we make in this hobby are priceless!

Love this random brainstorming of creative madness! Sat in bed til 3 am stewing on ideas thinking of tank aesthetics Idea last night. I think I am going to mirror the back glass of my next tank.
Awesome Raj…. Phins up!
I love his approach to the hobby. Open and honest about the overhyped, often overpriced, items that the "big boys" dangle in front of us and tell us we must have in order to have success. That is not always the case and Jim seems to be the leader for the budget-oriented hobbyist that either can't afford or can't justify the cost of some of the equipment, but still want to have success with the hobby.
Great conversation about contingency plans. Thank you for this. I just recently purchased a Kraken for battery back up short term solution and I’m looking at portable generators, but I hadn’t thought about having other people who would know what the plan is and could execute it in my absence, thank you for that thought
Yes! It's a pain in the butt, but running through the plan with and without your backup present is huge. I took this away from the podcast too! ~Remy
#whatsinyourwater. Great guest! Love his way of thinking!
Jim is great! ~Remy
Just watched the tidal gardens update on their new protein skimmers. Raj really knows how to pick a skimmer.

@telegraham is awesome and a great budget reefer and everything, but he still ain’t Mark!

@telegraham get rid of your Lobophtum they are supposedly one of the worst at releasing terpenoids. I had a large Sarcophyton in my display and it was fine for a long time then my sps started acting off and I would see mesenterial filaments all day on some. I decided to remove the large leather and all was good after if that helps yes it’s a mind story but it worked for me.
Raj have you ever seen Homers car? Joking I’m sure it will be amazing.
Also #whatsinyourwater
Interesting! I feel like we always hear about the sarco/sps relationship not being the best. Which SPS? Any specific species affected more than others? ~Remy
Acropora austera worst by far affected, tenuis and millepora had almost zero polyp extension. But I believe this to be just the corals downstream of the leathers. It was 100% the corals on the side of the tank that were in direct line of fire. I still have large gorgonians without issues. It took the austera over a year to rebound back it seemed and it actually just spawned last week. I have no proof or anything but the corals did rebound back at the same timeline as removing the leather. My angelfish did pick at the leathers daily which may of caused them to expel more so than before.
Appreciated, and something I'll seriously consider. Thank you!
@@UnorthodoxReef how dare you criticize the Homer! That was automotive brilliance 🤣
🙌👏👏👏👏
i dont get the aversion to the saturation slider. even the photos straight out of camera aren't "real", there is some default amount of processing done even in standard profiles (and especially phones). Everyone should just assume whatever's on a screen isn't real to some degree especially with the latest round of phones and AI. Reefbum just did a video on it XD
Frankly, it's annoying how many decisions phone cameras make for us these days. I realize that the majority of people don't care and also aren't taking photos of coral but the instant processing is insane (in a bad way). On the flip side, it has made taking quality video when out and about. I shot most of of the next LFS Saturday episode on my iPhone 15. ~Remy
I prefer accurate coral marketing. No need to round up. No need for makeup. I agree that those who sell corals should perform a default amount of processing, I perform a default amount of processing, but I don't think we should accept unreal photos from sellers. Regarding hardware/software, phones and AI aren't to blame. As with most things, it's us silly humans.
@@telegraham that's a great point; value is subjective
