Canada Trip Day 2: Coos Bay Oregon to Seattle Washington. A much longer day than I planned on!

- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- Day 2 started off great as I enjoyed breakfast with my friends before continuing our adventure North. My plan for today was to get as close to Seattle Washington as possible and find a place to camp overnight while stoping and exploring anything that catches my eye along the way.
However my adventure truly began when my plans for the the day didn't turn out the way I had thought they would. Ya just have to take the good with the bad when it comes to travel.
So let's get to it!
This video is part of a 24 day road trip that will take us from my home in Northern California, up to see my sister Janet in the town of Smithers British Columbia, (which is approximately 1000 miles North of the U.S. Border) while camping as much as possible along the way.
So sit back and relax and enjoy my take on visual storytelling,.......Thanks for Riding Along!

New episodes every week now 😎
We are in winter now in the UK, so it is a pleasure to watch this.
Glad I could help with the winter down time 😎🍻
Always enjoy your videos when I’m able to catch them. And the music is fine, lol. Ride safe.
Thanks! I’m glad you like the channel, a new episode will be coming out every week now 😎
(Music is the challenge unless you want to spend money 😁) 🍻
Great ride, loved the lighthouse stop. Shame about things transpiring to slow you down, that was one long day man; but hey, that’s what travelling is all about.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us Forest, love it.
Looking forward to your next production.
Ride safe.
Neil
Thanks Neil, sometimes you just can’t get around those land yachts 😎
Cool lighthouse, awesome to see a piece of history in such good shape still! It was pretty cool seeing the himmy in downtown! Puts the "dual" in dual sport!! Keep em coming good buddy!!!
Love this motorcycle!!
It really is the perfect choice for me, in the mountains or in the city it’s always fun to ride!
Thanks for watching Chris, new episode every week now 😎🍻
@@NorthboundMotorcycleADV looking forward to it! Agreed man, great machine!
Ain’t the coast great!
That was a long haul for the day! Everyone is a camper these days, that’s why all the campgrounds are full. Same thing this year here in Canada.
Cheers!
Love the coast!
Long days and unexpected events are all part of the adventure 😎
Thanks again for watching! 🍻
Hi, I have a real fascination for lighthouses Forrest, and here in the UK, particularly Scotland we have some beauties, which I can't pass without visiting. Having said that, I also have a fascination for bridges too, and a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to be visiting my sister in Ohio, and I managed to find and visit one of your iconic covered bridges (Everett). Just didn't have my Himalayan with me! Cheers for the videos again buddy. 👍
Thanks for watching Martin!
I to have a fascination with lighthouses, and when I saw the sign I had to turn around and check it out. And if I hadn’t, I never would’ve seen the bridge 😁
speaking of bridges, there are two covered bridges here in Humboldt County not too far from where I live. When I have time maybe I will go and film those and make a video. Yes I think I will, thanks for the inspiration Martin. And Thanks again for watching and riding along on my adventure north. 🍻😎🇨🇦
Looks like so far you had superb weather to be on the bike! Wish I could say that here, at 19 degrees right now. Our ponies are all put away for the Winter!
Hi Alex!
I must say that I was very fortunate during most of the trip as far as weather goes. I did have my moments from time to time but the first week or so of the trip was really nice! Thanks again for riding along!🍻😎🇨🇦
NICE
Thanks, Janet! I got a tell you, this ride up to see you just kept getting better and better!
Found your channel! I grew up in Mckinleyville my wife in Eureka both retired thinking of getting a Himalayan
I really enjoy my Himalayan and would buy it again 🍻😎 thanks for watching
The adventure continues. I enjoyed seeing the lighthouse. Rare sights.
How was the Himalayan to ride at night? Did you consider camping rough somewhere rather than pushing on in the dark?
Nice to follow along!
Hi Scooter!
I did consider “Stealth Camping” but decided to keep going as it was easy riding and a perfect night out.
The Himalayan did just fine at night however I think I might get a different headlamp for the next trip. Thanks for riding along as I’m getting closer to the Canadian border 🍻😎🇨🇦
@@NorthboundMotorcycleADV Extra LEDs could help. They might not be road legal though.
Another Himalayan owner here and I can confirm indeed the stock headlamp is lacking. I have ludicrously bright aux LEDs on the way for mine, definitely not road legal but ask me if I care. I also would have preferred the headlamp to be fork mounted instead of chassis mount for low speed corners, but the artificial sun I'm about to mount should solve that problem. Yes, I am proudly about to become one of those jackasses who rides around blinding the shit out of everyone. But it's becoming straight up photonic warfare out there with modern cars and their ridiculous laser bazooka beams, so screw em all, I'm melting everyone's eyeballs. You weren't using them anyway 🤣
Noticed your info screen backlight is going out too. Mine went completely out. Not a big deal, just have to keep track of what gear I’m in when riding at night, haha. Going to try and get it fixed through warranty.
I had a few things go out on this trip lol,
my bike is currently in the shop at the dealership that I bought it at getting fixed through warranty. Been in the shop for over 3 weeks now waiting on parts. I plan on doing a video on the whole warranty process when I get it back.
Thanks for watching 🍻😎
Looks like another fun day on the coast. Camping would have been more fun than riding into Seattle in the dark though.
Agreed!
Unfortunately it just didn’t work out that way for me 😎 But don’t worry, there will be plenty of camping to come 😁
Thanks for watching 🍻😎🇨🇦
I am fairly sure I could have been a great lighthouse keeper back in the day. All that solitude would be great for a time. That or a fire lookout tower operator.
I’m not sure I could last more than a week lol. Funny, you should mention fire lookout towers, though, I have plans for this summer to visit several of them here in Northern California. Those videos should come out in the fall. Thanks again Sean for watching. 🍻😎
Lovely blue skies, I assume this was last month?
I was a bit late in the editing process after I got back home (life got in the way of my hobbies) this trip started out on August 19th 2022 so I was pretty fortunate with the weather, however as you will see in later episodes that wildfire season was in full swing.
Glad you liked the video and thanks for watching 🍻😎🇨🇦
Hwy 101 in Oregon has beautiful scenery but sucks for traffic and making time. I avoid most of it if at all possible…Lincoln City area is the worst in the summer.
Beautiful yes, crazy busy also yes. I have to admit this was not my first choice in the route that I wanted to go to Canada on. However, two days before I left, a fire broke out ironically on the forest, I work on, that cut off the route that I wanted to take. So I was forced over to the coast to avoid wildfire. thanks again for watching Roger, always glad to hear from you! 🍻😎
@@NorthboundMotorcycleADV thanks for your reply. I too had to reroute this summer due to wildfires. I was smoked out in The North Cascade’s and Glacier NP in Sept. I need to start my summer trips near July 1 as September has been wildfire season in the West past few years.

nice video shame about the awful music
🤔well that is what the channel is know for 🤣 Thanks for watching Jeremy! 🍻😎
