I can't believe he got so aggressive with the "employee". Like yeah, intimidation like that can work on people who might be afraid (they usually pull the "my company is going to take more money and have you arrested if you don't pay us back"), but trying that on someone completely random and can end up just shutting down the scam attempt?
It's kind of sad how easy these people are to rile up. They have the emotional maturity of children. I guess that's why they have to scam the elderly instead of getting a real job.
it's not easy to get a real job for many in India. Overpopulation and if you're born in a slum with no qualifications your only options are to work for $1 a day in backbreaking labour where you have no opportunity to advance or to save money, or crime. All these scammers are very insecure about 2 things. Their intelligence and their wealth. That's why they always say they are so smart and they are not a fool and why they lie about how rich they are. Because they know others see them as poor uneducated people and they hate that.
@@palestinevideos2025 im not even close to rich but i am never going to scam people out of money like this i think it is a despicable lowly disgusting thing to do. Some have tried on my elderly parents and i was beyond livid. Luckily my brother was on the phone with them on the mobile and stopped them. I am not a violent person but i would beat the crap out of them no hesitation for preying on the vulnerable like that. I have done plenty of terrible jobs to keep food on the table
@@palestinevideos2025 Great comment and insight. Very true. They get so upset when they get played by scambaiters, and they insult any scambaiter who reveals to them by calling them "illiterate", "Beggars" and say "Don't you have any work?!" They hate when someone is "over-smart" with them, and can bat them around like a little toy for hours. They also tend to be less patient with 'women' on the phone, getting much more irritated quicker when dealing with a woman. They also hate when scambaiters insinuate that the scammer is a 'junior' ("Fresher") who reports to a 'smarter' woman superior in the call center. The thought that a woman might be higher up than them, or smarter than them, just kills them. As for wealth - it's sort of interesting that they are insecure about it considering they are beggar thieves stealing money over the phone because they are so poor. If they had money they a.) would not be working a scam call center or b.) running the scam call center, and never on the phone with victims.
when edna started crying my heart broke :( i feel like thats genuinely how these targeted elderly react and its so messed up how they still continue with their scam
In some actual recordings the elderly indeed share their life problems and break down crying as well. They don't care, they are blinded by greed. They're actually happy when others are in pain, it also means their fear tactics and terrorizing is working.
I do that too! I work from home and still manage to have pretty severe anxiety. Playing these in the background calms me for some reason and I can get my work done.
When these scumbags spill the beans that they feel no remorse stealing from innocent people, it reinforces my belief that all scammers should catch the purple haze virus. It'd get rid of the entire call center in less than a minute.
@Mrs. Phyllis Stephens No, they literally tell you they're transferring the call to a boss and they just pick up the phone and tell them a different name. They scam elderly with memory problems. Fuckin disgusting

Anyone else think Kitboga is a badass for being able play a character, while talking to the scammer, while editing code? I mean if it's "not that difficult" to edit some html and jQuery, it's still impressive to see him edit on the fly while holding a conversation at 37:21.
He also has to get home to his daughter. He's 23 years old, and is either divorced with custody, or has a daughter out of wedlock whom he takes care of. And he's Indian or Pakistani. Not impossible, just . . . unlikely.
Literally makes no sense!! The other day I was watching one were the refund amount went away so she didn't owe them anything anymore, and the scammer literally says I'll do the money again so you can pay us back in gift cards?? Wtf makes no sense at all does it!!
I've was in customer service a long time...and you seriously imitate the perfect older person. We have call times in most call centers and they wonder why a lot of the time we can't hold to them, it's because older folks just want someone to talk to, and so I'd let them talk.
That scammer is a big dummy. Any intelligent logical human being would realize he is being led on after the first hour. Kitboga kept him on the line for over 4 hours. Good job - thank you for your service keeping these scammers from scam baiting other innocent people particularly the elderly.
It depends on how many people they manage to scam. Even if they took 4h on average for every granny, $3600 payout is a huge hourly of $900/hour. I bet they earn much more, on par with drug peddlers. Only completely shutting them down could work, or truly automated denial of service attack. Or perhaps Indian equivalent of IRS getting them for tax evasion... but then they'd change the scam to book it as a legitimate service, laundering the money.
I wish I'd found you a few years ago. I got caught by a REALLY friendly, kind, patient scammer for $200. They were going to take $400, but my Medicare card got flagged after their first pull of $200. He kept calling back very concerned...but not mean, and I honestly had no idea it was a scam and couldn't figure out why my bank wasn't allowing the money to be paid out. Finally he realized that there literally was nothing he could do, and I was clueless, so the damage was relatively minimal. But now im watching all of your bits because my husband almost got taken by the tax scammers, saying cops were coming to get him unless he paid $8,000. They're non stop. He was so angry that he just started cussing them out every time they called. But now we're getting a lot of Spanish scams who don't speak English at all, and they just hang up immediately. I wish I had your skills. These are SO FUN to watch!
It cracks me up just as much as I wanted to crack my head on the keyboard when dealing with old people over the phone/counter 😂 He's really great at pretending to be an elderly lady, because it's triggering my support PTSD.
this is so hard not to laugh , and every time he pauses , the scammer start talking and then like , 0.6 second after the first sound he makes , he just goes on , this is so funny xD each time he tries to talk he gets cut and cut and cut and then he loses his mind
8:00 I love it when you start a very long diatribe and the scammer keeps trying to interject, but you just keep rambling on until they are eventually yelling. Warms the cockles of my heart.
Pilawaag there was one video where they hung up on “Nevaeh”, and when they called “her” back, she was still going on with the same story. It was legendary!! 😂😂😂
I have a suggestion for a plot twist for the net time: In the target store let the "manager" talk to the scammer like you did now, but let the manager figure out that it is a scam. Then the manager gets angry and confronts the scammer, but the old lady is so confused and put off by the angry manager that she actually sides with the scammer. And then you just do what you do naturally, and create the ultimate drama!
I would write the script a little different, the manager knows its a scam, tells the scammer he is aware of this and wants to make a deal. If the scammer shares 1000 play store gift code then he will issue 5x1000 target card, but he should first give the playstore card. If the scammer falls for it atleast he loses real 1000 and then makes it interesting
SOOOOO Many are in Kolkata because the authorities won't pursue any reports of it. Now the scammers are working their own setups with 2 or 3 guys out an apartment rather than established call centers. Autodialers, VOIP numbers and even cheap web pages. They are expanding outside of the typical areas now.
@@brenttirwin6737 Educating people and making them aware of various popular scams is also helping people that have been scammed/ people that could be scammed in the future. Techincally, just wasting their time is preventing the scammer on the phone from scamming others.
When Edna talked about this being a lesson in patience, I thought we were going to start with the "have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry..." 😂
I feel that it adds a little bit to the sadness of the whole thing that people who really do think like that are basically immune to this, while people who want to help the guy save his job are vulnerable. It's disheartening.

This is how Indian people talk. That broken English which doesn't ask things it demands them. Rather than "can you do ___?" Its "you need to do ___" Just do one thing etc.
So sometimes decent people work here too, a lot of time they are stuck between 3 rocks and a garden hose. It doesn't give them a pass but yea. Reply all podcast tracks one of these spammers down... like he goes to India
The Indian boss that I worked under acted just like this, and he had no respect for women, despite living in the U.S. for many years. His English was much better than this scammer's, so it's not just a matter of "broken English." It's an attitude.
Speaking of an exotic country, I sometimes wonder if they just don't know how much money is worth in the USA, or if they think that if they get scammed they just get the money returned because they're from a 'rich magical country' or something. It's genuinely hard to believe that they are this disgusting as human beings.

I can't believe he got so aggressive with the "employee". Like yeah, intimidation like that can work on people who might be afraid (they usually pull the "my company is going to take more money and have you arrested if you don't pay us back"), but trying that on someone completely random and can end up just shutting down the scam attempt?
Its horrible when these scammers become verbally abusive to our elders. Pure evil

It's kind of sad how easy these people are to rile up. They have the emotional maturity of children. I guess that's why they have to scam the elderly instead of getting a real job.

"Give me give me"!!!

Having tantrums over something that does not even belong to them! Big babies 🤣
it's not easy to get a real job for many in India.

Finally he realized that there literally was nothing he could do, and I was clueless, so the damage was relatively minimal. But now im watching all of your bits because my husband almost got taken by the tax scammers, saying cops were coming to get him unless he paid $8,000. They're non stop.
Surprisingly all the scammers are from Kolkata,India. I can tell that coz the abuses they are using in Hindi is used only in Kolkata
