So you got: Sleeping Bag - Sleeping Pad - Pillow - Fly - Tent - Poles - Stove & Atlas in the 40ltr. What’s really left? Clothes, food, water, maybe a Helinox chair and tools and rain gear. Some of that would fit in the tank bag and the rest I’m sure could fit into a duffle mounted behind the bag on a rack like the 1090 or AF have? Or even reorganize some stuff like the tent, pad and poles in the duffle and the rest would fit in the min bag. That makes the 40ltr look reasonable for long term moto camping.
I really like that set up of yours. Unfortunately I am totally unfamiliar with the bike you used to build your adventure ride with. I just bought a 2018 Beta RR-S 390 to build a Moto camping adventure bike with. I came across your video while looking for luggage options for smaller Enduro type bikes.Very good video keep them coming Bill
I've been trying to decide between the Coyote and the Great Basin and you've helped me out, thanks! I started watching Blancolirio because I was interested in Oroville, learned we have a plethora of common interests from soaring to enduro, adventure riding and more. Look me up if you're ever interested in riding, adventuring or soaring in Washington State! BTW, I decided on the Coyote, it will fit my 350XCF, my Husky 701, and I'm thinking it might work with my kayak too!
I'm trying to decide weather to purchase the Giant Loop which offer 39 litres or the Enduristan's Blizzard medium bags which are 6 inches wide and add the tornado pack. The Enduristan approach would offer 50 liters. All and all similar in cost. My question is weather or not you consider this approach and if so why you didn't go this route. Just looking for your perspective or anyones thoughts. New to soft luggage. Its going on the 2017 FE501. THanks
I like to keep things as light and compact as possible and thus prefer the single 39 liter Giant Loop Coyote Roll Top and then pack lighter for better off road performance. Thanks for checking in CW!
I hear you. That my approach as well. Just want to make sure I get it right. My logic was that with the Coyote it's tight to the frame which is good but while it tight it does sit alittle higher than the blizzards overal. The top portion of the Coyote would be similar to adding a top bag. Quick question. How many inches would you estimate the width of the bag in terms of how wide it sticks out of the bikes sides? More than six inches I guess eh?
Good question, the Giant Loop Coyote is shaped just like the trunk of a small pillion rider, so the bag fully loaded is no wider than you...so you can ride in the tightest singletrack conditions without the bag ever 'catching an edge' or brushing up against the rocks and pitching you over the edge,. Also the bag fits very tight and doesnt budge even after days of riding off road.
Although the line up looks good from GL, I've heard many of these do not hold up under rainy conditions. Mostly the Great Basin and Coyote may potentially have some issues with rain getting inside? True?
@@blancolirio That is good to know. I called them and one of them actually verified that they cannot truly call them "waterproof" because of the stitching/sewn areas. They mentioned if you don't use the waterproof bags inside for your gear in a downpour, your gear would get wet. Their words, not mine. Still, I think the Great Basin would fit nicely on my 1090r.
Well, depending on how you define "friend", keep me in mind if you decide to sell it. I take your recommendation highly with GL products and don't require brand new for my purposes.
Good stuff Juan, the soft systems are better than hard..And Giant Loop is the best. Looking forward to you next adventure..
Yes! thanks!

Just popped in after ordering a Great Basin for my KLR. Your Rally Raid Honda is a sweet bike.
Pete is awesome, he and my son would get along great.
Thank you, Juan.
I’ve been thinking of the Coyote for the 250 Rally, and it looks to have a very nice feature set.
Just as a follow up, I did get the Coyote, and IMHO it works brilliantly on the CRF250 Rally.

Thoughts about doing a 2 year quick update on this bag? Any wear and tear? Room for improvement?
Love the videos, helped me and my son a bunch in having an almost flawless T.A.T. east to west. Any tips on how to edit all that gopro footage?
Haa! Thanks!...the best plan is to shoot only what you want.
wow. I didn't know they had a top entry Coyote bag. when did it come out and how much
cw127cw brand new! check out www.giantlooomoto.com

Hey, did you try this bag on your ktm exc? How it would mount? wonder is this is not too big for my ktm 500 exc....
It's the perfect fit for both the 500 and 350 EXC-F. I run it on my 350.
Which tank bag do you got there? 🙂
So Coyote or Great Basin? Looks like you can fit quite a bit in the coyote. I have a Rslly raid equipped cbx500 as well.
Coyote, pack light!

false.

Very slick design. What are your plans for the older zipper model?
Dunno...keep it for the KTM or sell to a friend...or?

What about two up???!!
If you have a good tail piece rack and can slide it way back.
What snap exhaust on is that?
Scorpion
Pete’s great :)
Should be called the Pete Bag.
Adderall. Helluva drug.
