  • I need to take some luggage for a trip away but how do I solve that problem with a Z900? Well, the answer isn't to buy a Sports Tourer but I do have to make some big adjustments to the bike.

    After following Mark around the Cotswolds today. I can confirm the tail tidy and tiny indicators look great. Probably going to make me buy some for a bike of mine. Top job

    i thinking also about bigger trips with my Z900 and i'm currently looking into the "PRO Cargobag tail bag" + a waterproof bag zipped on top of that. That thing could work wonderfull with a short tail and the indicators because of its form, the images on SW-Motech show a Z900 with a short tail.

    Great solution Mark, been looking at all the same options myself for my Z900. Already have the R&G tail tidy and tried a different bag last year. Got Kriega to try out as wasn't sure about the SW Motech system but having seen yours looks pretty good to me !!

      Yeah, someone else has mentioned the Kriega (US drypack) but I don't know how comfortable it would be on that tiny pillion seat? Guess you have to try a few things.

    It looks amazing, i myself have a versys 650 so lugage was never a problem for me. But i want a bigger engine with 3 or 4 cilinders. The z900 looks and rides amazing, but just a little smal i'am 1,85cm

    Nice video, I'm having the same problem on my new Z900.
    For now I'm leaning towards the Shad SH23 version.
    I would have liked a closer look at the bags and their attachment and stability, rather than a drone view.
    Thanks Jirka

    They work with the tail tidy indicators. I had these installed recently, Even I was a little skeptical for the same reason. There isn't a lot of clearance between the indicators (if using a tail-Tidy), but it's not pushing up against them either.

    Awesome vid. OMG, your rideability abt the ninja 1000sx were my exact thoughts; god bless the z900. Lol. As for the luggage, I use sw-motech slc system with the urban panniers or legends soft bags for my mighty Z, they are awesome. And as for your LED relay, I use TST OEM relay replacement, they will solve your issues, and the relay is adjustable. Anyway, ride safe, god bless u. Can't wait for your next z900 vids.

    • @bikerevz
      @bikerevz  Рік тому

      Thought you would like the comments about the Ninja. As for the TST replay, they only come with 2 pins so will it work on my Zed, which has a 3 pin relay? I've seen it work like that on a Honda CRF so might give it a go if my generic one doesn't work.

    Another alternative that is highly flexible & versatile is the Kriega (US drypack) system. Its a modular soft luggage set up. Rugged, high quality & can be configured to many options regarding total volume. You don't need to bother messing w/ bolt on frames, tail tidy, indicator mods, you merely add the four fixing straps & that's it, all set to add bags in a multiplicity of configurations! Costs nowhere near a monkey either - about half that.
    Check them out....???

    • @bikerevz
      @bikerevz  Рік тому +2

      Nice one, I've just had a look at those and they definitely would be an awesome choice. The only thing I don't like about the US drypack is that they sit on the tail and there ain't exactly alot of tail on the Z900 so I don't know comfy they would be.

      @@bikerevz Fair comment although my neighbour has the Kriega on his Ducati Panagali & I reckon there may be less space. But we each have our own requirements I've got the system on my Z900RS but that has more space of course. Big advantage is that the fixing straps are always on (concealed under seat until required) and when required it takes only 5 Mins or so to attach the bags in the desired configuration. Choices,choices....too many choices!

    A little unnecessary imo. I've left the OEM tail and I've fitted a pair of SHAD E-48 with the overall capacity to 52l. Nothing from Givi or SW Motech came close either with volume or price. It cost me around 200 EUR on Black Friday last year, paniers included :) I also have a tail bag from Givi which i rarely use since saddle bags provide so much space for luggage and a Tank bag as well which is mounted at all times. With a tail bag on as well, I think I'd be good for a 10 day trip. I would have fitted an aftermarket tail tidy if I didn't have any luggage at all, since I've quickly realized that would never be the case, I just left it well enough :)
    No hard feelings, I follow your page and enjoy your work with the bike.

    Nice setup. I had the same setup last year, you just need a flash relay on those turn signal.
    The only issue for me was my saddle bags didn't come with those guide rails.
    Will need to find something like similar.

    Ordered my sw motech blaze pro bags last week for a bargain (291€), after much consideration. Should arrive by the end of the month.
    Tip from another video, put some of that cheap anti-slip rubber underneath it to protect the tail fairings.

      Btw, great videos. Been drooling over the z900 for two years. Used to ride adventure bikes, then didn't ride for about 6 years due to circumstances.
      I just had to have a naked once in my life and figured that since i'm nearly 40, it was now or never. Was planning on keeping it for a year and then go for adventures again. Been riding this beauty for 2 weeks now (70kw version) and already decided that if I trade it in, it'll be for the 92kw version. Really love this bike.

      Thanks for the tip. One thing I missed out was that the bags came with a sheet of sticky plastic to protect the bike. Haven't worked out how to use it without it looking terrible yet! Maybe I'll go for the anti-slip.

      @@bikerevz the guy in the yt video i saw it on said he expected the protective plastic not to last very long because of the constant rubbing/microrubbing while riding. His solution in the follow up video came in turn from another subscriber and he seemed very satisfied with. Was thinking about sowing/glueing it onto the bags so i wouldnt need to worry about an extra 'thing' in saddling up/down.
      His first 'solution' was some foam on the fairings but he was having trouble attaching it (and it looked like sh!te). I'll see if i can find the videos
