- Black to play and draw the game. Can you find the quickest way to draw? Make sure you watch until the end of the video for the final answer. Good luck!
It would be helpful if you told us what color we are playing.
I think it is worth pointing out that if the Black king moves to a3, the White rook can still check on a2, as KxR is yet another stalemate.
Queen takes?
The queen can't take the rook when the rook is on a2.
@@zanti4132 oh, a2 check i see. But even then king doesnt have to take
@@gehrmansparrow3563 Yes, after Ra2+ the king can move to the b-file, but then Black continues the rook checks with Rb2+. White can't make progress. He must either allow a stalemate or submit to a perpetual check.
There is no white rook
Tried to solve it as white when saw the thumbnail and was really confused there was no win until I clicked in the video😅
What if instead of zig zagging down the king goes on a green tile by just going on b8 and then zig zags down the green tiles in order to avoid the final check when it reaches the bottom.
Excellent question. In that case, the king will land on a3 instead of b3. Black will simply play Ra2+ instead of Ra3+. White will have 3 options:
1) Take the rook (stalemate)
2) Go to b3 - then we are back to Ra3+ skewering the king and queen and when king takes it's stalemate
3) back up to b4 and black continues with the checks until repetition or one of the other scenarios
Im a pro at getting stalemate. As soon as ik i cant win i start pinning all my pawns and harass their knights with my king
Rh6+ was also a quicklier stalemate. YOU MISSED IT. This was an excellent move and NOT a best move.
Hmmm...I'm sorry but I don't understand this comment. There is no Rh6+. Did you mean Ra6+ or Rb6+? If so, the white king simply takes the rook and black is lost, as the black king simply moves to b2 and will be checkmated shortly after. If this was meant to be a funny or sarcastic post with your archaic use of the word "quicklier", then bro, I LOVE your sense of humor, ha! Good luck with your chess!

He probably meant Ra3+ after Kb3
Yes, I think you are correct. I guess they didn't watch the whole video to see that indeed was the final conclusion.
So, I am not a 1000+ rated chess player; that is okay. Thanks
I was winnerious and saw the stalem8, I am road to 500 now :)
Rook a3 when king is on b3 also works
Yes, that was the final conclusion at the end of the video and is the fastest and most efficient way to end the game. Good luck with your chess!
Black king can't move is stalemate? Weird
It's got nothing to do with color or the king. The rule is: "It's stalemate if there's no legal move for the player whose turn it is".
@@jesan733 you don't think there's white privilege? Racist.
@@jesan733exactly. A rare form to end a game for strong players, but it does happen for time to time especially with weaker players not being careful with queen moves in the endgame. That’s why when I just started with chess, I would often times underpromote to rook and mate with to rooks instead of rook and queen.

Awesome, thanks so much!
I saw this at the very second white king was on b3, but then here is the thing, I'm stuck at 1000 and I can't even make it to 1100🥲
