Great video, i was told about this at the local dealer , the man behind the counter ask if i would order 4 spark plugs for my 90 hp motor. i was confused because my engine has only 3 cylinders , he told my that is best to have 1 in spare if the indexing was out of range i thought that a spark plug will work anyway but now i see that this finetuning will help my motor to work as it should :-)
Was told "22 foot pounds" Is the max safe plug torque allowed ? please verify , 15 foot pounds minimum , to a max torque of 22 foot pounds , does the torque value change on different E-tec models ?
I had 2 out of 3 plugs would not index correctly. It's a ridiculous design that you have to keep on buying plugs until one happens to fit. I ended up buying a pack of indexing washers, but later heard the slight height difference can affect the performance. My engine seems to be running fine but of course I won't know if I have lost any power. Next time I have my plugs out I might even tap a thread in a plate and measure how far each plug sticks out, to see if they are very close in length to each other. With a 1.25m thread pitch on my plugs the absolute maximum thickness indexing washer would be only 0.6mm. I'd be surprised if that caused a loss of power.
Should I warm up the engine before removing the spark plugs . I tried to remove my plugs they seemed very tight, l did not want to break one off in the head.

My 300 hp Evenrude wouldn’t start properly, and all the experts told me all sorts of BS , $S’s will fix it , I bought a new petrol pump ,and POW starts first time every time , $197 Aussie dollars. Did my my own spark plugs , everything goes 100% .
