Having cruised on all of the Virgin Ships (at time of recording), and eaten at every venue, we have put together this definitive guide, letting you know which virgin voyages restaurants or venues are essential (if you are on a shorter cruise) and even where you can eat 24 hours a day.
There is no doubt, that as the new kids in town, when it comes to cruise ships, or cruise lines, Virgin Voyages ships stand out, they are modern and very different to many of the others out there, both inside and out, and nowhere is this more so than in its food offerings.

Hi Mark and Linzi,
I saw on the news about the heat wave covering Great Britain and wanted to tell you to take care. We went through a similar situation in British Columbia last year when a heat dome covered the whole province and we were forced to evacuate our small town because most of the province was dealing with forest fires. The town was spared but everyone is hyper sensitive to the weather and heat build-ups. Sorry for being off topic but I thought of you two as well as other folks we know over there.

Thank you Steve. It is a little bit warm for us UK folk at the moment. Yesterday we broken 100 in the North and 104F in the south of the country. Today is supposed to be a record breaker, with 108F.
We've had some moorland fires, but nothing too major, and certainly not compared to what you encountered, and the weather is breaking after today, with more normal UK summer temperatures of around 72F tomorrow.

As we have said on a couple of the Virgin Vlogs, we really didn't expect to enjoy it either, but we really did, and if you look at the range of vloggers who've been on, such as Gary Bembridge, Paul & Carole Love To Travel, Ben & David to name a few, all very different personalities, who are big fans of very different cruise types, still loved Virgin. Omg! I enjoyed the Test Kitchen and the mushroom was my favorite thing I ate the entire. Even the blue cheese that a lot of people didn't really enjoy was tasty to me.

Love your videos! Lucky enough to be going October, 7 night Valiant from Barcelona in Simply Suite (special treat for our Silver Wedding Anniversary) we're usually inside or balcony cruisers! ( Hubby is a Yorkshireman after all!) 😂Hope we don't get too spoilt or it may be very hard to come back to reality! 😉Keep up the great work you are lovely together! 🤩)

You are very welcome. We have been told, although cannot confirm it, on the latest menu change, the Peas have gone! So might be worth you still giving Test Kitchen a go. Worst case scenario, you don't enjoy it, you can always go to another restaurant, or one of the snack venues for something different. For us, it is one of the huge Virgin Voyages benefits, in that they are not speciality restaurants you've paid extra for, and therefore Test Kitchen would be a much bigger risk. ahhh my lovelies. an extremely well timed vlog all about Virgin Voyages Dining. As you know, we fly to Barcelona on 27th and board Valiant on 31st...sooo excited - and even more so now. We have booked our reservations on the app, but I just randomly booked them to male sure we got into each different venue! Hoping the roadie will help with any tweaks once we board.
The wake, I cant wait to try, as well as the test kitchen..apparently they have changed the menu now, I was looking forward to the peas lol.
Brunch - we must do, especially after seeing this..I can see them having to roll me down the gangway lol.
hmmm..The Sip bar, we intend spending a fair time there..whats all this about the food? I thought they 0nly did afternoon tae...but maybe not?

Oh Terry, less than two weeks to your Valiant cruise. We are so excited for you, and can't wait to hear all about it. We are sure you'll have no problems amending the venues as you need them.
You are going to love The Wake, and more importantly that Brunch so much. We are getting hungry thinking about it, whilst typing this. It is THAT good!
Talking clock..... that is a first. ROFL😂
On the Sweets/Candy side, there are two places, kind of. First is the Social Club Diner, where you can get hot dogs and such, but it also does things such as Toffee Apples, Churros, Frozen Bananas, Cookies, Cake and some various candys. The other is The Sweet Side, in The Galley, and that does a range of sweets, pastries and desserts.
We truly cannot wait to hear what you think about Valiant Terry, as we are sure you are going to love her.

Loved all the food we tried - would hope for a new menu in Test Kitchen before we go again in September - not sure we would go again without a different menu as half the fun for us was the unknown element of each course.
Will be trying Gunbae next time for sure.
It is being recent reported that they seem to have introduced a new menu in Test Kitchen - Corn, Salmon, Beetroot, Shrimp or Lamb, Asparagus, Strawberry. Apparently rotating the old and new menus on a 3-day cycle. Looking forward to our Oct 14 nighter where iwe hope we can do both menus in Test Kitchen 🙂
Hi Stuart & Karen, you absolutely must try Gunbae, it is so much fun, you will love it we are sure. We have heard a few people saying that quite a few menu items have already changed on Test Kitchen, so will be interesting to see if it does change anymore before you go on. We do agree though, the unknown is a big element of TK, and whilst still amazing, it loses some impact the second time, if the menu is the same. Linzi & Mark
Hi here, I just booked cruise and it seems no restaurant is available at all. Is there any walk-in? Or I will be just no restaurant?
Hi, There are walk ins at every restaurant. You can also go to the restaurants on embarkation day and book them too, and via the app when you are onboard.
There is also usually on the first day (about 3pm) a session with "The Foodie" where they take you through the restaurants and food options and can book for you too. So don't worry about it at all, you'll have a great time and some amazing food. Linzi and Mark

Help everyone! Question....If you are a picky eater (As I am) can you get the dinner options at the restaurants customized or can you not substitute and leave off items from the dishes? I am a basic food gal and like plain things without all the extra!! Like a 8 yr old child's palate trapped in a 46 ur old woman's body!! Hahahaha
Hi Jen, in most of the restaurants you'll have no problem and they are very welcoming to different palettes and will customised quite a lot for you. However avoid test kitchen. That is not customisable and whilst we love it, it will most likely deeply offended you "child's palette" 😂
All the other ones though you should be find with. Even Gunbae as you decide what to out with what and the basic meats you cook can be plain and not flavoured or marinated.
