Love your ship tours. Very in-depth and love listening to you discussing it together and not always having the same opinion! It looks like quite a traditional ship.
Thank you so much Brigitte, we love recording the ship tours as it brings back so many memories (even if it is fairly recent) and lets us chat a lot more too .And you are right, Ruby is a much more traditional ship than say Sun Princess but she's perfect for Alaska
Love the Princess Ruby! Not ultra modern, but cozy and never feels crowded even with a full compliment of passengers. Alaska cruise skews older, but that is ok. Good friendly service.
Thank you Rachel. Oh that is interesting. We assumed initially it would be (like on P&O Ventura) and it was only because the steward in the Sanctuary told us it was for them we said that. Then again they may have misunderstood what we asked!
As someone mentioned the Lotus Spa Pool is not part of the Sanctuary, and is adults only. There is also an entrance to the pool area through the Lotus Spa. While I've not done the Sanctuary on any of my Alaska cruises, I have done it on a Panama Canal Crossing day, on Ruby. I thought the same thing that you did, that it would be wonderful. In reality, it was extremely crowded, and though we had reserved a lounger right up front, there were s many people at the windows that we couldn't see anything without joining them up there. I wouldn't do that, Or Alaska, though Alaska 'may' be different. . Also, there is a lift - one single - that goes to deck 19, so stairs are not required. Very nice tour of the ship. She is my most traveled ship - 15 times since 2021 - and we'll be going on her from Nov 9 to Dec 2. This video got me excited to go!
Yes, we think there was some confusion on what we asked the steward in the Sanctuary about the pool. Maybe he thought we just asked if The Sanctuary guests could use the pool, rather than it just being for Sanctuary guests? So glad that the tour got you excited for your 16th cruise on her (WOW) in November, have an amazing time.
Lovely walk down memory lane, we last cruised on her in March 2020 just as the madness began. We enjoyed our time on Ruby immensely and it's nice to see you enjoying your time on her as well. All our best wishes for your new home, hope the move goes smoothly, may you make many happy memories there.
Thank you so much, we already feel so much at home here after just a few days. So glad you had a lovely walk down memory lane, we really enjoyed our time on Ruby and Alaska was utterly breathtaking.
The Lotus pool under sanctuary is free and adults only, attached to fitness area. It is not a heated pool though like the others. Thanks for video - we are on Ruby for our first Alaska cruise in 2 weeks 🎉
Thank you Cathy, we think the Steward in the Sanctuary may have been confused by our question when we asked about this. Have an amazing time on Ruby, and you are going to love Alaska. We are still thinking and talking about it every day
Hi my mi beautiful wife n me find cruising princess many years ago we went 3 times on the diamond rubi grand star emerald we enjoy all so many memories Alaska Mexican Riviera Panama canal etc we just love it find lots of interesting people dancing eating Hawaii
There are (well kind of), and we show them on our Ruby Princess Ship tips video. There a numerous laundries onboard, and you pay for them using your medallion rather than coins or tokens.
If there's one thing you can pretty much guarantee on an Alaska cruise (no matter what time of year you go) it is to have some rain at some point. We did pretty well and only Juneau was REALLY wet, the other days and ports, we all between fine and really warm (we got sunburnt one of those days, not really just how hot and sunny it was). July seems to be the least rainy (but it will still absolutely rain at some point) but it is much more expensive then and busy, that say May & June.
Sorry about that Neil. What were you watching the video on? We can't replicate a buzzing noise on any platform that we are testing it on? If you can let us know we can have a look and make sure it's sorted for any future videos. Thanks, Linzi & Mark
@SuiteNatured hey thanks for replying. Originally I was watching it on my PC via Chrome with my headphones on and it was very apparent. Just tried now on my phone on the UA-cam app (listening through phone's speaksr) and same thing, however way less annoying than with headphones on but definitely still there throughout the entire vid for me! Hopefully a quick fix but don't see anyone else commenting about it so probably me being over sensitive😬
Hopefully this weeks one is better Neil (let us know). We tweaked a few things, and even Linzi with her bat like hearing couldn't hear anything. so Fingers Crossed

Completely agree Bill. It never felt over crowded on our cruise at all, and the service was great.
Nice tour! The lotus pool by the sanctuary is opened to all adults and not connected to the sanctuary.

So glad to hear that you enjoyed Princess too Rafael, and you sound to have had some amazing trips on them,
Nice tour video,
I wonder is there a coin laundry?

Thanks for the video! How was the weather, when was your sailing? Any rain? Trying to figure out the best time to go😃

We enjoyed the ship tour will you be doing a vlog about the excursions you took?
Thank you both ❤️ and yes we will be doing a dedicated video & review to at least one if not more of the excursion.
Is this similar to the Sapphire Princess???
No Sapphire is a bit bigger, she's a Gem class ship as opposed to Ruby which is the smaller Crown class.
Sorry, struggled to watch this one with the buzzing noise!
