I remember Nick Adams as Johnny Yuma! I was seven, maybe eight years old at the time (born in 1953) and enjoyed the show. I didn't catch all the episodes, as you put it this was the height of TV's Western Craze and there were plenty of Westerns to choose from.
I obviously can't remember all "The Rebel" episodes but I do remember the one titled "Surrender At Appomattox." I found it on UA-cam several years ago and it was just as good as I remembered it being. In fact it's a VERY good portrayal of Lee's surrender in 1865. Keep in mind "The Rebel" aired at the same time as the Civil War Centennial which made it doubly enjoyable. I remember the Centennial as well.
    Thanks for this one!

Not only do I remember watching "The Rebel" as a little kid, but I was enough of a fan of the show that my mother bought me a Johnny Yuma Confederate gray kepi cap with a Confederate flag decal on top and a Johnny Yuma style gray tunic with the same type of fringes along the shoulder seams that was on sale in the Children's Clothing Section at JC Penny's if I recall which department store. I watched that show regularly along with many other top shows in the very early 60s. I remember: Zorro, Have Gun -- Will Travel starring Richard Boone, Gunsmoke with James Arness, 77 Sunset Strip, Leave it to Beaver, Bonanza, Route 66, The Rifleman with Chuck Conners (strange trivia: this was Soviet dictator Leonid Brezhnev's favorite TV show, and on a state visit to the US hosted by Richard Nixon, Brezhnev was so thrilled to meet Conners that he embraced him with a Russian bear hug and kiss on each cheek), Wanted: Dead or Alive (with Steve McQueen and his famous sawed-off repeating rifle (my parents bought me a plastic toy version that fired rapid plastic bullets), Burke's Law starring Gene Barry (always remember his 1962 Silver Cloud II Rolls-Royce; it was my dream car), The Beverly Hillbillies,Twilight Zone, and Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges.

As a Godzilla fan I just watched mission mars on TCM, Adams was great in it. The Rebel was before my time. Thanks Steve

I loved The Rebel when I was a little boy in the early 1960s. That, and later Combat, were a couple of old ones I was really into. I'm much more of an old hippie peacenik in my old age, but that was appointment TV when I was a little scrapper.

Enjoyed his work, especially No Time for Sergeants. I went to junior high school in the mid-sixties and out skateboarding saw a film crew at an adjacent motel near LA Airport. Went in and found out Mr. Adams was in a room getting made-up. Got his autograph. Probably 1966. Nope, haven't seen that signature in 50+ years.

I saw reruns of The Rebel quite a few years ago and thought he was pretty cute. Didn't remember him at all so I looked him up. He died when I was 10. Another one taken too soon ❤

For me, Nick Adams' best picture, will always be: 'No Time For Sargents'. Nick shown through everything, he was in. When I was a kid, I liked him in those Godzilla movies. His worst part was in, an episode of 'The Outer Limits', titled 'The Games' (I think that's, the title), as it really wasn't his fault, for a dislikable episode.

I watched the Rebel as a child. I never knew what happen to Nick Adams until now.
