If Mischa is allowed to have a normal life and develop his chess skills without too much disturbance by publicity, he will be one of the greatest in the future. So he shouldn't be on TV shows too often, where he is too much exposed, I think this would hinder his development.
ehm why ? who can recommend such a stupid thing ? I’m really curious for arguments. like his day life gets bothered when he do 5 shows a year or what ? will he play better if he don’t do such? loOk at AlL thE dIstRaCtiOn ¡
I think that Karjakin offered the draw just after the moment that misha realized he was losing by looking into the kid's eyes. After that, Misha got happy. It was a nice action by the GM.
I completely agree. The set of 10 players (more or less) who can put up a fight for the world championship should belong in a different category than regular GMs.
The kid just finished the European u8 (!) Championships with a respectable 43rd out of 77 (4,5/9 Points). He can play that tournament for another 3 years :) And yet - we have often seen talented kids quickly rise to somewhere around 2200-2300, an then stagnate. When a 3 yo is pushed into the public like this, it does tell alot about the parents. And in the long run, it rarely helps chess AND overall development.

It's fair game. A draw is fair for both sides.

It´s incredible how easy he can move such big pieces with that confidence.
At the time of draw, they looked even on material. Both had one bishop and four pawns, so Misha did a great job keeping up with Sergei.

Yeah Karjakin is a nice guy and chess player but only thing which is not so great is that he likes to see Ukrainians get killed
