Love the tips! I've been struggling for years, building up the courage to try again every once in a while, but am never happy with the result and most of the time my hair is indeed not dry. I hope your tips will do the trick!
About the dandruff….Idk this is just my personal experience. It maybe being caused by the vintage hooded dryer you have. I have one ( the ones that look like a shower cap attached to the machine by a hose) and whenever I would use it my scalp would get very very dry especially around the front of my hairline (because at least on mine this is where the holes the air came out of sat). Dandruff had never been an issue for me until I started using it. Once I stopped and my scalp sort of got over the damage, the dandruff cleared up. I use a hooded standing dryer like you would see in the vintage salons and it doesn’t happen as bad because the hot air is a little farther away from my scalp. Just thought I’d share my experience :)
Very interesting! I have super oily hair and skin so it takes a lot to dry me out haha. But it's really good to know the standing dryer worked better for you, I'm sure there are many others who have experienced similar things and will find that useful!
I have accepted that I have a scarf day in the week. I wash on saturdays, roll, have a scarf day on sunday, and monday I have great hair for the week. I sleep two nights on the sponge rollers. I do have a drying hood, but it only dries the top, not the bottom rows, no matter how I tilt and turn under it...
Beautiful color hair. Glad to see your demos and hear your tips. I hope the current trend of long, straight, lifeless, dull hair is going away soon! I really like your style and hope our super tacky overly casual culture will turn around soon. You are a helpful contributor to that improvement! 🏆👏 Thank you!
Have you tried sock curls? Or dressing gown tie curls overnight? I'd be curious to see how you would style those, just found your channel and you deserve more views and comments! You have a great account and content.
Does the bleach cause your hair to take longer to dry? My mom bleached herself platinum for years when I was growing up, and I do remember her making that remark. She wore it basically shorter but curled it and did sit under a bonnet hair dryer. She always used the magnetic rollers.
It's funny you should say that! I was just thinking about this today as I was doing my roots. I find my hair takes longer to dry when I've freshly bleached it, but in general dries faster than my natural hair. And I must definitely get my hands on some magnetic rollers! I've never tried them.
@@petrapanapparel95 I've had quite a few of those but never actually used them to sleep on until recently. These have snap-on fasteners, and if I bobby pin them, they will stay in if I decide to sleep on them. My hair is short, fine, and I don't color it anymore since I'm going gray and am okay with that. I definitely don't do the most precise job when rolling. Lol. They can be bought pretty cheaply where I live and online, I've noticed. Definitely more comfortable than the curlers with "teeth" in them, which I was about to give up on. I'm trying to let my hair grow a bit, and I can avoid the urge to constantly trim my hair if I keep it on the curly side.
I was wondering if you could recommend where to get those sort of bonnet dryers? I’m in the UK and all the images of the ones on Amazon are so obviously photo shopped so its really hard to work out the quality. I don’t want to waste money!!
Mine is a vintage one I got on eBay. If you buy a secondhand one the seller should say in the listing whether it's in working order or not. Unfortunately i dont really know about the amazon ones, especially being in Australia all of the listings here might be different. I would try either reading the reviews or do a search for the brand on UA-cam to see if anyone has reviewed them. I always trust a video review the most!
Gel also works very well, especially with magnetic rollers under a hood dryer;followed by plenty of back combing and lots of hairspray!
Thanks for showing us the little doggy at the beginning he's adooorable ❤
Haha you are VERY welcome! I try to make sure he gets a cameo in every video, because I know he's the real star.
I was thinking the same thing, what an absolute sweetheart!!! Love when he peaks up at the camera!

I can totally relate! For a long time I thought only rag curlers would work on my hair. The hairdryer has made a world of difference!

How do you make the hairstyle last a week?

I love your lipstick , what lipstick do you use?
I liked watching this, but the music is annoying and so unnecessary.
