Shaun, you need to give Northern Spain ( Picos ) and Portugal a go... roads like the Alps but hardly any traffic, much more mountainous than Southern Spain too.... mind blowing scenery .. and cheap as chips 👌
I've always just booked the first night and the last night and then just winged it from there. That way you can always chase the sun.. Loving the trip. Cant wait for my own trip next June...
Grabbing accommodation on the fly is definitely the best. Six of us went around France and Italy a few years ago in peak season and always found somewhere to to stay. It adds to the enjoyment and you’re not locked in to a specific destination. Watching this my thoughts were this is only an in-between road to where you want to be, but that would have easily been enough for me. Such good riding in Europe.
You're absolutely right, you'll always find something. It's much less stressful, stopping more regularly and having a look round places, which never happens if your under pressure if you're on the clock to get to a place, which always happens as a lot of the time one has been a bit over keen on the amount of km's to cover in a day.
Fab day's ride Shaun, followed much of that route myself this summer although didn't fall over - well not this year anyway lol! Guys like you and Andy keep the fires burning over the winter months, roll on next summer... Definitely thinking about going on the fly too.
Thank you Steve! Fear not there's still a few more to come over the next few weeks. I found this tour so much more relaxing, partly because I really needed it, but also because I just set off and didn't worry about planning any of it. You'll always find somewhere to stay, even in peak season! I'm sure it'll become my new way of doing things👍😜
@@benkelly2190 nah not just yet! Admittedly I did have a cheeky look at the dealer, but the price was ridiculous, not worth the extra 4 grand over my bike👍😜
Excellent Shaun, I always use the book on the fly these days, a lot more fun. Off to Wallonia next year and booking an AirBNB as a base and looping out, I’m getting old, I’m good at falling off as I stop😉
Depends of course about what you want out of a trip, if it's just about the ride, then booking as you go works well. If you just wonna get there and just go out for blasts, then having a nicer hotel at "base camp" also has its appeal👍
I'll come on tour with you Shaun, so long as you don't buy a GS that is 😜 Great roads, nice pace, good work 👍 apart from the ending 😂👍 I'm enjoying this series mate, nice one 😎
Shaun what's the ap you're running on your phone with the green bar? I'm guessing something to do with sounds? Great vid as usual I must find time to post all my euro tour vids

@@AWVerboom yes that's the one👍 it's better for me for sure, but was hoping it to be better than it is. That being said, screens are very much like tires, what works for one may not for another.

Passo Pordoi is definitely one of my favourites and you can spend a week riding around there taking a different
Set of passes every day
I'll second that, it's a fantastic area to ride👍😜

What a beautiful part of the world. Thank you for taking us along!
You're more than welcome, I enjoy being there immensely!👍😜
Near misses don't count, even 0mph tip offs😇. Staggering scenery, nice vid as per 👌
Yes indeed👍🤣 altgough that banger in the white SUV wasn't far off!
unless a little poo comes out, then you can call it.
I'd have chased after him to declare him soul owner of said pooed under crackers!

Just luck tbh👍🤣

Beautiful area big thanks for taking us along for the ride🥂😎🏍💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦
You're more than welcome John, thanks for dropping by👍😜
Ha! Just saw your arrival at Falgazaro. I stopped there as well, and went up in the cable car....the views from the top were stunning!
I did see the cable car on the way up, should have gone on it as I did have the time🤦♂️
The XR just seems so smooth. It does the mountain with ease.
It really does! Just need to look at doing something with the seat, the thing nearly broke me in half!🤦♂️
@@thelikeablerider8800 I see it might be GS time?🤷🏼♂️

Zell am See, a great place to take a break from riding for a few days.
I know it well! Back in the day I took a holiday every year there to go snow boarding👍😎
Stunning roads and scenery, on a beautiful bike. Great edit, Shaun. Sure hope the XR is okay, quite the cliffhanger to leave us on, pal.🔝🎥🎬🏔️
All good Mike, more about that in the next Episode👍😜
Indispensable entertainment in these dark days! 👍😀
Cheers dude, for more to come👍😜
cracking scenery 👍 I've always enjoyed riding in that part of the world.
It really is good, and could never get old👍😜
Yes we have been to the cafe before. Good coffee along with the tatt gifts
Thought so! I waited till up the Großglockner to buy all the useless memorabilia🤣
Fantastic as always! Hope the bike was okay. Have a great Christmas!
Cheers m8, bike was fine! Merry Christmas 👍🥳
What a stunning place...
So amazing, and it was a much needed trip let me tell you!
Amazing passes, stonking roads even with some squeaky bum overtakes😉 Awesome👍
No risk no fun, as they say👍😜
Your vids are amazing and the music is awesome :) like it
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoy them 👍😀
Nice m8. Could be back there next year. It's been a while. 😀
Yeah was a long wait for me too🤦♂️
Nice one shaun, enjoying the trip mate, even if it is from my sofa.....keep em coming...not the little oooopsy though.
Regards Glenn.
Few more still to come m8👍😜

Hey Nick
Fear not the XR is still in my possession, and nothing fell off after chucking it on the floor👍😜
Loving the tour Shaun. The views are stunning.
Yeah was a real cracker, and winged the lot of it, no prior planning, I just left!👍😜
Look like a blast. Did you have to put on clean shorts when you got to your hotel. 😂👍🍻
One or two close calls keeps me awake on a long days riding🤦♂️🤣🤣
Nice one Shuan. Only a couple of almost murders 👍 Again makes me want to be there. Where the F*CK did summer go!
Cheers Mike!
Yes that mother trucker in the white SUV was way closer than it looked on camera.....nearly pooed!!
Good job sir
Cheers Pete👍😎
Ooh eck, didn’t like that ending 😱 otherwise cracking stuff 👍
No harm done to me or the bike, so can always have a chuckle about it👍😜
Thanks - that was great. I've ridden the area - fantastic. How is the XR? I owned a gen 1. Do you miss the SD's grunt?
Hi
Maybe at first, but not so much now! I also had the gen 1 XR, and it's more than plenty for the road👍😜

It's the Pro City👍😜
