    Hey, nicely done. Just finished my install today (Jensen CAR813) and...so far so good. I guess I still have a few things to do, but I think it's clear sailing from here.
    I'm not sure what kind of mic ships with this deck, but I wonder if there are other great mics that work with my system. The point of this comment isn't really my question, but to thank you for videos like this that make it SO much easier for DIYers. Have a great day!

      If your connections and settings are good, you may want to consider the mic location. Make sure it's not right at a speaker location and as close to where you'll be speaking as possible. From there, be sure there is no air vent aimed at the mic location and turn down your radio volume a tad using the handsfree calling feature. Hope that helps!

    I have a 2015 Subaru WRX Premium. A few months after getting the car I bought a Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS head unit, aux plug, and steering wheel thing so the buttons still controlled stereo.
    Everything has been working fine with exception to the microphone. The microphone has been ok but people can always hear my car when shifting, road noise, etc.
    I replaced the mic a few times and same or worse results. I bought the optional auto eq mic and hoping that will help. I'll have to double check my wiring as well at some point.
    I still like my stereo and would really not want to buy a new head unit. Any ideas? Otherwise I may consider replacing it. If I do replace I'll certainly buy from Crutchfield again!

    I have a 2010 Ford explorer that previously used sync. I swapped the radio for a Pioneer indash and connected the microphone that came with it. The issue I’m having is that callers can’t hear but I can hear them. Any suggestions?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  2 місяці тому

      The included Bluetooth Microphone is crucial for hands-free calling with the new Pioneer radio. If callers cannot hear you, this could point to a microphone issue. I would first check to make sure the microphone's plug is securely inserted into the radio, and that the wire is not damaged in any way from installation. Disconnecting and re-pairing your phone to the Pioneer radio's Bluetooth is always a good idea to try to see if it resolves the issue. I hope this helps!

    • @crutchfield

      That issue would not be linked to the microphone and it being properly connected. Instead, it is more likely linked to other parts of a radio's installation like trigger wires or wires sending audio to the speaker system. You may want to double check the radio's wiring to see if any of it was not properly connected in the vehicle. Several reasons. In most vehicles, the mic is connected via proprietary connections. Splicing mic cables leads to terrible call quality. Also, on unit that has any sort of voice control, then microphone needs to be connected to the new units dedicated microphone port, and not an adapter module for it to work.
