I can understand them having to keep making something every number of years so they do not lose the rights, but do they have to make movies? Could they have not aimed for a short film or something? That way, they hopefully make a better movie since they have to tell their story efficiently and get out of there. If they did make a movie, they should have at least got people that are known for making decent movies on a budget. I would have liked to see what a Madame Web movie made by A24 would have been like.

1:54 TBF Ironman wasn't exactly an A-lister in the beginning either. That character wasn't nearly as popular until RDJ came along.
Honestly, Kraven can be a pretty damn cool character if handled well. (The PS5 Spiderman 2 version is one such case)
Remember, this is the same studio that gave us the Spider-Verse movies.
We technically know why, they need to push out a live action spiderman universe movie or if too much time passes between each release they lose out on the copyright.
And yet Sony has the audacity to want the 4th MCU Spider-Man movie to be about the multiverse and include Andrew and Tobey AGAIN!! Wasn’t the whole point of NWH for Tom’s Spider-Man to step out of Iron Man’s shadow and be his own hero along with starting his new life now that everyone forgot who Peter is? Plus we already got Spider-Verse which focuses on the multiverse already why do we need the MCU to do the same with Tom? Just give us a street level Spider-Man movie there’s no need for no multiverse bs for it to be successful it’s kinda overplayed atp🤦🏽♂️

A set of very important rules to remember is:
1) not every villain needs a movie, like a movie about the Chameleon is kinda stupid idea
2) if you make a movie about a villain, it will probably turn out to be a completely different character, like the Joker movie
Sony didn't get any of these rules. They make movies about characters who don't need them, and they change their personalities so much they might as well be new characters.

Any time a studio buys movie rights for something they have a certain window where they have to make a movie or the writes go back to the original owner.
