This is very helpful, ive been trying to wrap my head around simplfing what i put into projects as a way to feel more connected to each piece of a beat that i make. Typically i want to eat up every new technique i read about or sound i can find and that turns into me trying to cram every idea into every second of every project and I just end up unsatisfied no matter what. It was helpful to watch someone piece together a killer loop using just enough to make it beautiful.
@@SONWU I think electron is doing it on purpose.. cause that’s a simple fix… all the products looks like it overlaps with features.. they need to make 1 product with all the same features..
I think it'll come in an update…judging by some missing features (that should be in there) the release was a little rushed. But they renamed the old "slice" machine to "grid" which tells me, that there will be proper slicing in future.
Ps: ordered the Lofi12 XT which should arrive soon. I love the DT form factor but even with version 2 I still think (for my workflow) the Lofi XT will kick its ass.
@@artephank well the Lofi 12 XT has polyphony per track. Meaning playing chords. Fx per track. Like processing fx not send. And manual chopping mode. And it’s more portable
@@SONWU your feedback is very much appreciated! I am leaning towards digitakt ii but was considering op-1 field because of the keyboard/sampler. But sequencer is very important!
They don’t even need to implement slice. Imagine a perform mode like the velocity mode where you can have diff start points (manual) in each key. Or whatever. It’s not super complicated to add manual slice mode to DT. I think they just don’t wanna mess with OT market.
I don’t know how anyone can defend it not launching with basic functionality like slicing. Samplers all across the market at every price point offers this very basic function. Think about it - the oldest samplers on earth like the SP1200 supported manual start and end points on samples for the pads. This function is as old as sampling, itself. This machine costs $1,000 and was released in 2024, but doesn’t offer this feature. How can anyone defend that? I don’t get it - I’m not asking for this thing to be able to launch a rocket, just have the basics.
Super pissed, mine just arrived and it has scratches on the screen - have to return it.. Didn't even get to plug it in :( Will have to enjoy the Digi 2 vicariously through your video, ty. Nice beat, love the rapping! Sadly no idea what you said, but it sounds good :D
@@tvlkn9130 - that’s bad. I used to work in pro audio sales and never saw that. Always had the protective plastic from new. I bought a 2nd hand Octatrack with the protective plastic still on the screen. When I peeled it off there was a hairline crack. On really close inspection it was an actual hair (eyelash) on the underside. Took it apart, cleaned, like new. Relief.
@@leftmono1016 Yeah, very odd. Also never come across it before. All good though customer services are on it, just a little annoying I have to wait :D Glad your Octatrack isn't scratched! that thing is a beast.
…oops, apologies for the low pixel-count.

Ya that was dope! Im sold on the digitakt II DAMN👍🏾😵💫. Nice job 👍🏾
Thank you!
Digitakt 2 is PERFECT for hip hop 🎧

Thanks for the nice feedback…keeping it simple is my life :D
Dope content. Been looking for more hip hop style Digitskt 2 sampling videos.
Awesome beat, awesome bars. Great job!
Thanks, trying to get more rap going here :)
Is this the best sampler right now???
No, for me it certainly is not. I‘d choose the Octatrack over this…but who knows what future updates will bring 🤷
@@SONWU this guy on UA-cam is killing it with the digitakt 2 with the samples… I guess he figured how to do it in a different way…

and so, what do you think of the 1.01 update? Did they fix the click problems with loops ?
My only gripe is why didn’t they have Overbridge ready at launch? Especially if there is no way export stems. 🤷🏽♂️
Rushed the release I guess…
What are those scrolling black lines on the digitakt?
It’s just my camera shutter speed not being adjusted right
No manual slice mode. Otherwise it would already be implemented?

You can correct the bars in the screen if you adjust the shutter speed in your camera.
Thanks, I’m aware…but was just lazily doing everything on auto yesterday:)
Can you record your voice into this thing? Like sing or rap into it?
Yes you can, but it's not really made for this kind of workflow.
It's not a looper/clip launcher
can I do a whole complete track with just this machine
Do you mean including vocals?
You can certainly make complete instrumentals!
I am already curious about the digitone II guys. It is going to be quite interesting.
🤪

Edit: just googled it. Idk if I love or hate how it looks. Bold design, thats for sure:)
French rapping sounds pretty but German rapping is like an interrogation.
Na :(
Hello! Hypothetically…if digitakt 2 and op-1 field were the same price which do you prefer? Your videos are very helpful!
Digitakt! I am more comfortable using a proper sequencer. Also the the Digitakt’s MIDI features are very good

Does the DT2 have grid slicing at least, like the OG version?
Yes, it does!
Gutes Video, habe mir heute das Baby gekauft, kommt in drei bis vier Wochen.
Good stuff, we need to see more rap auf Deutsch. 👍
Is there finally stereo sampling?
👌YES!

Slice mode is coming with a future update!
