“The Canadian government announced Friday a contract award valued at $3.2 million (USD) to provide the Canadian Army with new pistols and holsters. M.D. Charlton Co. Ltd. of Victoria, B.C., was awarded the contract to supply the Sig Sauer P320. The Canadian Forces has designated the gun as the C22.”
I hope these new vehicles get frontline troops and doesn't take 5 yrs to get them their. Our front line division like 5th CANADIAN DIVISON GAGETOWN and awesome video and thanks for the update on much need equipment
Now buy Leopard 2a8 and Lynx and set up a factory to build and rebuild the hauls to extend their life time service, unlike what happened to the Leopard 1s which are now mostly range targets.
We should 100% be donating weapons systems to Ukraine. However we should be focused on donating vehicles like this, made in Canada! Not US made anti aircraft systems or other systems made in other countries. That way we will at least get the economic benefit from our donations.
DND is getting Sig P320 pistols (US Army’s new M17, we’ll have commonality with them.) RCMP is just ridiculous for not upgrading. Last other major user of the 5906 was California CHP and they swapped out for modern M&P pistols a few years ago. 5906 isn’t a bad pistol per se, besides having an awful trigger. But it’s heavy and old and has a low capacity by modern standards. Maybe DND can tack on a few thousand more P320s to their order to share.
Yes, Ukrainians use TLAVs, send them the lot for spare parts, 6.0 would be a decent platform for replacement for ADATS, or shorad if you like, a tracked model of shorad is also appropriate. Two sizes of Tanks and search and rescue drones, like an unmanned flying box that could deliver survival gear.
This is a good video report. However the ACSV wouldn’t be the best option to just slap a turret onto. If we’re talking about eventual replacement of the LAV IFV variant look to the LAV 700’s bought by Saudi Arabia. They have almost twice the horsepower.
Upgrading the engine should be relatively easy, slap on a 30mm non-hull penetrating turret like the Stryker Dragoon and an Iron Fist APS and the LAV-6 will be able to handle just about anything short of a MBT.
We should be sending LAV 6s too. All our donations should be ones that support the Canadian economy. Other countries can donate missiles, we can donate light armored vehicles both armored and otherwise.
The LAV6 isn't a modernized/upgraded LAV3 at all it's a new vehicle from the ground up. Its a common misconception/Public relation lie. And no even the hulls were not modified or reused in any way.
So where are the original LAVIIIs then? In a warehouse? Training vehicles?? Sold to another country??? 660 of them would take up abit of space somewhere and surely with their 25mm cannons would have come in even more handy in Ukraine than even the new build super bisons 🤔
Thanks for the great video! Is it the right thing to do? Well, this situation is sporty so if we keep giving them away we can likely expect to need our own in the foreseeable future. As long as the bean counters can process our own logistics to fill the needs and help out the Ukrainians we might as well buckle up for the bumpy ride!
Hard to know the right decision about sending our new Kit that is sorely needed by CAF to Ukraine. What they hey we are Canadians after all, and would give our right hand away. We do need anything new and shiny to help our troops to serve with the best equipment. How can we help anyone including ourselves if we are are not equipped properly when it comes time. Yet , Ukraine is battle testing them on a strong adversary, one of our future or present enemies.
OK because the government going to buy new equipment for the forces and we can donate some of the equipment that has seen years of service and that’s getting to the end of its life let it battle for this final decade or two
No ! Handing over our vehicles to Ukraine is not smart. - get those vehicles and then some in the hands of Canadian troops first ! - give the Ukrainian's the 90 light tactical vehicles that we just purchased from GM defense. Keep the Rochelle armoured cars and super Bisons for our CAF.
Jacking up over-armoured trucks as high as possible to facilitate ground clearance for those V-shaped hulls is like going in for a pair of Double Dees (Deze?) & then hiking them up to your chin. It all gets a bit high-octane & tenuous at times. Some Hamiltonian pedo-gogue recently tried this & it didn't work out. A cautionary tale: keep it reality-based, CF. o/
The Russian - Ukrainian War is a war between the KGB and Washington D.C. ___ IN RUSSIA THE SECRET POLICE IS THE CIVIL SERVICE. ___ The KGB went to war because they sincerely believe that no sensible patriotic Russian would want to see his favorite KGB agent driving a taxi, delivering pizzas and having to take a bus. ___ Makes sense!.
Always one of these folks in every comment section. If a Team Red PM buys the military something big, or offloads literally every bit of ammo and kit the Canadian military can spare to Ukraine, it's still "fuck those guys". If Team Blue fucks up a procurement, makes us someone's foreign policy bitch, or even stiffs our warriors & veterans of their pay, it's still "oh they are so patriotic". Such folks are following the team jerseys, not the policies or issues.

Another great video! It's great to have content like this about Canada. Keep it up Thanks!
I was a ‘Bison’ CRew Comander’ in Afghanistan (TF1-06 🇨🇦) and our LAV2 reformed berry very well. I would have loved to use the new one. Retired 2010.
As a Canadian I hope the federal government and the provinces are working together to help boost our manufacturing capability.
I agree
I agree, we sure have all the capabilities to make our own vehicles, boats, plane, drones.
Wont happen, next election will be about dividing the country as usual.
So there's the lav 6 and the lav 700 I think and now these are the new support vehicles right? They look hella nice ngl
Yes! Sending the ACSV's is the right thing to do.
Send the Lav 6.0s while we’re at it
so that bison qual that has been sitting on my 404s for the last decade is finally gonna be irrelevant
I hope these new vehicles get frontline troops and doesn't take 5 yrs to get them their. Our front line division like 5th CANADIAN DIVISON GAGETOWN and awesome video and thanks for the update on much need equipment
Seen one driving on the road in Quebec, turned quite a few heads, pretty damn nice
Canada needs a tracked vehicle like the CV90 wheels can't go where tracks do despite anything the idiots in Ottawa say.
Trudeau does not want our army to go anywhere, so its fair to not have any tracked vehicle.
@@benoitnadeau5845jt is a douchebag but cv90s were canceled by Harper. As bad as current government is for the military, prior government was worse.
Wheels have a lot of applications, but every Army should bave some tracked options too. CV90 or Lynx IFVs would be great.
Absolutely the right thing to do
Now buy Leopard 2a8 and Lynx and set up a factory to build and rebuild the hauls to extend their life time service, unlike what happened to the Leopard 1s which are now mostly range targets.
Should restart the RAM tank program and super avrow and drone carrier battlestars

Canada is primarily donating Roshel Senator MRAPs and LAV-6 ACSV's, both are made in Canada.
My brother's rcmp service pistol is older then he is...good luck getting a new pistol for the armed forces.

Pistol is already here.
I'd like to see some talks of peace before we end up all dead.
You listen to too much propaganda
Ask Russia to pretty please leave Ukraine - you could have peace tomorrow .
Can you guys send some to the Mexican Army and Marines? we will use them against the cartels
Pleaaaaseeeeeee pretty please
As long as Mexico buys, we can produce

Really liking the new interior 👌
Beauty!
It talks the talk, but does it walk the walk❓
I Love the wheels 🚚
Btw, I like your content, but your voice doesn’t seem clear. Maybe a mic upgrade will fix it.

It is the right choice as we can see how well they work in eastern europe conditions
Yes!
Time for more combat vehicles

It's the right thing to do!!!... thanks Canada from NZ (yep we still operate LAV's 🙂)....Slava Ukraini

Canadas Army has a bright future
This comment is a joke lol
Ripsaw M 5 tanks with, CRAM Gatlin gun systems and 150 mm turrets ...
Slava Ukraine ❤️🙏
Agree.
The CAF should be fully armed with these units before UKR gets any.
No Trudeau believes our army should get none.

Handing over some maybe but not all
Maybe 1 per 10 we give to ukraine. Help us build up. While help weakening Russia and delaying their attacks.
They're tagging more onto the production line to replace the ones sent🤷♂️

They work well on flat dry solid terrain. That is all.
Piece of crap, to big, no tracks, wheels do not work.
Give Ukraine all we have
Clearly, that's what the enemy Liberal WEF-controlled Gov is doing. FJT
No we need our own stuff. Ukraine isn't a poor country they can get there own stuff
