Robin you don't know how helpful this is. I have essential tremors and your approach to second position really solves hand movement and position. Your videos are gold. And bead cleaning with power drill perfect bonus.!
Hi Vicki! 🤗💫 I am so glad that you found this demonstration helpful. I have always had tremors/shaky hands. Using my pinky finger to wrap around the mandrel in second position really helps to study my hands when applying dots! 😅 and yes!… I love using the diamond drillbit in a rotary tool. It saves so much time and cleans the bead out quickly! So glad I can be of help to you!🌹✨💫 Have a wonderful weekend! 🤗 Cheers my friend - Robin 🌈✨🌹
Thank You for the effort you put into your videos. I love lampworking both soft and boro but my hands shake (I'm 73) and I can have difficulty with my designs. My wife made me some bean bags to place around my torch to rest my wrists which is a great help. You show in your videos one can follow their passion and enjoy the fulfillment of life if one possesses a positive attitude. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Hey, Mike! Thanks so much! I’m glad I was able to show you a few different ways to steady yourself. It helps me so much to be able to keep steady. I hope it helps you get to the next level in your Lampworking Journey! And your right! A positive attitude can change everything! Keep in touch! Thanks so much for watching 🦇🖤. Love the bean bag idea....might have to make myself a few! 😃
I admire you. You know, there is a war in our country and I became a refugee. And I took glass with me into migration. I am also a glass wizard. Just to do work and have something to feed the children. I was in a high state of anxiety from all this and my vision began to disappear and I also couldn’t control my hands. But when I found your channel, I believed in myself again. Thank you.
Hello Aurin! 🙏🏽🌹🌹🌹 I can’t imagine what you must be going through…I am so humbled that you can find some escape through our channel. 💫 And to know that you are finding your voice again just makes me want to cry for joy and excitement for your future work!! Shaky hand or not, You got this…you are a glass wizard! 😘😍✨✨ Patrick and I believe in you and are here for you anytime! Thank you so much for sharing! Many hugs and cheers - Robin🌈🌟🌹🌹🌹
OK. So today is Sunday and I have all day to work on dots. I'm NOT going to be so hard on myself and just enjoy the process of learning and practicing. I'm not sure if folks usually have someone actually teaching them as they try these techniques in real time, but I'm guessing not. So watching these videos is how I am learning, and I so appreciate how much work you put into the classroom portion of my journey with glass. Every time you put another bead into the "great bowl of beads" at the end, I marvel at the sheer number of them and how beautiful they are. I'm going to start a bead bowl. Hopefully, it will show improvement over time.
Hello Derweasel! 😃👋🏽 Thank you so much for sharing! It is very important to me to get as much info as I can in each demo. Not everyone can afford classes or private instruction in glass…it can be expensive…but having a teacher present can really help! 💫🌹 I’m so glad that I can be of service to you and everyone who needs help with flameworking! There are many things I do not know, but am happy to share what I do! If you ever have any questions feel free to reach out. 🤗 The more you practice, the more you will see improvement in your bowl of beads!! Cheers my friend- Robin✨🌹✨
Thanks Vanessa! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! 🖤🖤🖤🦇. This one is the first time I’ve made a Full Lesson. I’m really happy with the way it turned out 🌹
Thanks so much, Lyn! I truly appreciate your comment!! 😃 I have always enjoyed talking about how I flamework. I find it is really helpful (and fun) in all of these demos too! Xoxo R 🔥🌹🌹✨
Hi Charley! 😃👋🏽 I am so glad you enjoyed this demo as well as the lecture! It is not easy to do precise dot placement, but with lots of practice and persistence it becomes easier overtime. Thanks so much for your comment! Cheers-Robin 🌹✨🌹
I really enjoyed the extra talk at the end. I need to work on my dot placement although I'm trying to do marble implosions so off mandrel. Either way I think this would be good practice. Really appreciate your videos and your candid approach!
Hello Tarn! Glad you enjoyed this one! Learning precise dot placement helped me out immensely! It is so important for a great foundation to build upon. 👍🏽 It will also help with implosion patterns! ✨ Thank you so much for your comment! 😃 Cheers- Robin 🌹💫✨👋🏽
Thanks for posting this! Your base beads are so wonderfully even! I need to try to adding to a barrel- I tend to have an area that is slightly skinnier. Then I end up overheating to try to even things out 😕
Definitely try working off a nicely shaped barrel bead! It really helped me get my rounds better round! 😂. So glad to help!! Just a few little changes can make a big difference in your Lampworking journey 👍🏽🖤🖤. Let me know how your getting on with the rounding technique 😘
great video. i never thought about working the bead closer underneath the flame. i have created elbow support using, don't laugh, old adjustable speaker stands for bose mini treble speakers. helps greatly with overall control. controlled placement takes a lot of practice. as i have always told my students, TATT, time at the torch. ciao
That’s awesome! It’s hard for me to use arm supports. I’ve tried to use them before and it wasn’t for me. We are always recycling things around here… I love the way you use your old speakers! Lol! Thanks so much for the comment, Enrico. I bet your students love you! Do you have a website??🔥👍🏽
Thanks so much for the comment! My very first Lampworking 101 vid is all about how I dip mandrel. Check it out! Its the first one on the Lampworking 101 playlist. It’s so easy, the way I was first taught....and truly grateful for it! So glad the talk helped!! 🖤🖤🖤🦇. If you still have questions after watching the mandrel video, please let me know! R-

Many of us don’t work in glass because we want to, it’s because we have too
Enrico!😂 You are so right! Making these demos gives is a great outlet since I’d be making them either way!! 🌹✨✨✨😅

@@scottwoodresearch no I don’t. I haven’t been teaching for a while. I’m looking for a place to torch because I can’t in my new apartment.
I see. I’m sure you will find the perfect place! Good luck my friend!
Love this. The talk at the end is most helpful. How are you getting the release in the center and not on the ends?
