Don’t kill the compact Zen phone Asus 😢
They are still selling the 10. 11 is probably their competitor for the price range.
Damn, a Headphone Jack in an Ultra Device. Honestly, this is an Innovation no joke! Well done Asus👏
As it should be. Flagship device should have all the necessary features. Great job Asus! I hope the other Android phone manufacturers would come to their senses and follow this trend.
but no microSD slot.
Sony's xperia 1 phones have it

Only 2 years of android updates is a joke! Deal breaker for me.
better than some phones
@@Will.iam-67 Is there any company giving 1 year update? I don't think so. Asus is below chinese brands like xiaomi, realme, vivo. They all do 3 years. Asus is in the bottom of Android updates support.

A lot more than just Asus. Don't ask what cuz idk and idgaf.
@@Will.iam-67those brand didn't produced flagship phone bruh
Asus killed its own name in mobile phones industry first by cancelling the midrange and budget lines and now by giving us an expensive "ultra"
3.5mm jack! OH YES, BABY.
Nobody uses that.
@@AmericanBusinessman422 I do. I have a bunch of high end headphones still using 3.5mm jack. It's atrocious that phone makers all got together and decided that their customers must buy new headphones just to use with their phone. The "nobody uses 3.5mm anymore" is a marketing ploy for planned obsolescence. Stop regurgitating that crap.
@@AmericanBusinessman422 Thank you for the info.

Great full review keep it up as always brother
Asus should stay under 6.4" display on this zenphone series for compatibility smart phone.😊 don't kill compacts phone
My last Asus phone, the Zenfone 7 Pro is probably the best phone i've had so far! Such downgrade going from that to the OnePlus 9 Pro. I using the Pixel 8 Pro today, but I still miss the Asus. The flip cam was a gamechanger for selfies. And a really good vlogging phone!
What I got from this review is that Will became even more jacked :O
i don't get his accent. what's that all about. all his videos seem dubbed
That's an Asus Zenrog all day. Btw that camera bump is a bit odd.
A bit?... Maybe that's how many seconds of thought they put before making it(a bit)
Love the fact, this phone have Audio Jack. A nice thing for Audiophile even me who mostly like listening to music with wired devices, such as headphone even powered speakers 😅
Asus seems able to fit that thing, I mean Audio Jack. At bottom position
I'm a simple man, when i see a new phone drops, i open up gsm arena and watch their review. Great as always!
I wish you can do a comparison on those 2 phone of asus. The ROG phone 8 pro vs the zenfone 11 ultra so that. I will know what to pick.
Great review but where is the oppo find x7 ultra review video?
Every SD8 Gen3 review I've seen thay chip throttles so hard, what even is the point of this "powerful" chip if it cant even run at full speed??
good point
It'll be snappier outside of sustained loads. Few people play games on their phones.
i like mediatek more
It is version 3 of 4nm. V.1 is the jump, V2 is optimisation, and V3 is overclocking. That generally means V3 is going to throttle. Once we get 3nm N3E next year, then there should be some efficiency in the performance. I always recommend V2 if you can, the SD8G2 was a beast and is well optimised.
Having a 3.5mm Headphone Jack is awesome (The only flagship has this feature.) but the Android software update support is a joke :(
I prefer 7 years of OS support to a jack. All OEMs have to make compromises, and ASUS got this wrong as people are now demanding longer update support, but fewer and fewer people care for a jack, though still a niche market for that feature.
I hope the compact Zenfone line isn't ditched. The Zenfone 8, 9, 10 were all compelling for having high end specs in a smaller form factor. Honestly, this Zenfone 11 Ultra could replace one of the 2-3 variants of ROG phone. So ... compact Zenfone, Zenfone ultra, & ROG Ultimate would be a compelling lineup.
Oh. I miss using Zenfone!
No charger = No buy
Why are displays going back down to 1080p res ??
My really old Samsung S10+ has a great 1440p display.
Ooooh, mayro'n na palang bagong Asus Zenfone.
whats that song in the speaker test
The Zenfone 9 and 10 were Outstanding phones but I'm not too sure about that with this new one 🤔
rog lite
Apparently, they dont sell much so thats why they stopped producing them. Same with apple mini that dont sell. If apple cant do it, others cant
>No micro SD card slot
Guess I'l wait for the Sony Xperia 1VI
Nobody uses that.
@@AmericanBusinessman422Greetings Mr. Nobody !

This looks a lot like the ROG Phone 8. I think Asus has made the right call with this, with all the the best spec and features a flagship can offer. Hopefully they still remain the compact version thou.
Yes
That's right man
Well, if they made the same as ROG Phone 8, then why not combine them together into a product that has all ROG and Zenfone's features? In that way, they can cut their production cost while providing the best of the gaming and photography worlds. Idk man, I've used Zenfone lineups (Zenfone 2 laser, Zenfone 5z, and Zenfone 9) and I can say that this year, they really disappoint me. It's like they don't have a special thing that distinguishes them from others. If you guys know Zenfone 6 and 7, no other manufacturers did the same as ASUS at that time. Now Zenfone 8, 9, and 10, no other manufacturers made a powerful compact phone. And then this year? If they are not doing compact phones anymore, then I really expect them to do something different this year. Then here comes this phone, just a rebrand of ROG 8 with some AI. I am really, really disappointed...
@@patrickthelysander4533🤝🏽
Are you serious? The cameras are like from a mid ranger. Even realme 12 Pro+ has better.
This phone is terribly priced, especially since it costs pretty much the same as OnePlus 12.
RoG 8 lite edition ?
Powerful Smartphone!
What nobody talked about is that they finally moved the Headphone jack to the bottom w/ proper IO Layout that way your headphones are always pointing the right way in your pocket, and the Type C port on the far side so that the speaker output is in the proper place when you cup your hands while holding it.
Does this phone support mmwave 5g?
Galaxy A55 review, when??
What a pleasant surprise
100% a phone I'll never, ever see anybody use.
This phone has amazing sound
Why is it out so soon after the 10? Not even a full year
When will you guys cover Xiaomi 14 ultra
it does not have a 50mp photo file setting?
can you do a redmi K70 review,,plsss
high end phones are all pretty similar specs wise these days, which is why I think it would come down to software most of the time for people who are looking to buy a phone in this price range.
However , I haven't seen people consodering (or even being recommended) a zenfone or an rog phone in years and gaming phones are not that special using the same processor and sometimes lose out on other hardware like cameras.
I think the only few people buying this phone are reviewers or people who reaaly need a headphone jack or don't like dongles
small phone ftw! what happened?
No one buying that
I was happy that the annoying sound test was stopped. Now it's back 🥲
I saw pixel 9 leaks it is perfect phone, if they only have sd card slot. But for no waiting on pixel 9 pro
Honestly i like the phone. A large flagship for much cheaper than the other large flagships. it looks great. It could be better if the chim was the same size as the rest of the bezels but I'm ok with it. Sinsce it's pretty smal anyway. And you really don't notice it in using it. Speaking from experience.
Once I bought an Asus Transformer Pad tf101g and it turned out to have broken pixels, fortunately it was immediately replaced. A few years later, I bought an Asus Zenphone 5z and it also turned out to have broken pixels, but this time there was no replacement and I returned the money)
why do all phones reach higher nits in auto but not manual?
cool AI features! Now where's the regular compact Zenfone, Asus?
It's no more 😅
They come up with the coolest ideas (they're the LG of smartphones nowadays) and then just ditch them.. 2 examples: flip camera and form factor. Everyone loved the flip camera and they ditched it. They could've made 2 phones: zenfone 11 (small form factor) and zenfone 11 ultra (flip cam). They really are dropping the ball....
A1 is completely useless.
I wish someone will bring a flat back design instead of these ridiculously thicc camera hump. Just look at that beast on this one.
Sadly my Zenfone 9 suffered a short on the motherboard (my fault for using magnetic charging cables).. I bought the 16gb RAM 512GB storage version Zenfone 11 in black, arriving tomorrow, and I am actually rather excited for it - it might suck losing the small form factor but having a larger screen for a few years won't be so bad, seeing as I play a lot of wild rift and diablo immortal on my phone, and watch a ton of youtube, it'll be nice to have. However, I think it's pretty lame they aren't making a smaller version of the phone to continue their trend as the small form factor king in the phone market. I know ASUS doesn't have as much overhead as other larger companies to make 3 phones, but I think they could swing it.
What's the game at 04:30???
They should have toned down the refreshrate to 120 fps but with better screen than 1080p resolution to match its size.
Also i can't beleive that the ROG phone 8 pro loses on volume of speakers against their zenfone 11 ultra
A "normal" sized flagship back with the jack 👍
They should keep the last year design and include another small camera rather than changing overall camera setup with using square-like camera bumps. But the performance seems great!
They are using the same chassis as the ROG Phone to save money, so there is no point then changing the camera hump, as that would undo the savings.
this ultra phone leaked months ago but nothing leaked of a normal sized zenfone 11, is asus really foregoing a smaller phone? would be a huge misfire if they do, if apple has been doing it i don't know why asus is not comfortable doing so, they should release a 6.1" sized display zenfone 11
is scanner is ultrasonic or optical?
I think it's optical just like every other phone except flagship Samsung and Vivo phones
I have already Z8and Z9 but I'm not going to buy anymore, when you can't unlock bootloader to keep a phone for longer. This Z11 is definitely for different type of customers.Good luck z11
I think this Zenfone series is for camera not for gaming
No 4K recording on the telephoto ?
Manufacturers still do things like this ?
Too bad, they were on something with the 9 and 10, now it's a basic smartphone. You can feel the ROG rebranding in some way
7:30 What is this road map...
Everyone knows that software tracking at Asus is catastrophic.
And honestly, I think that this Asus Zenphone 11 Ultra has no reason to exist, it doesn't bring anything more than the Asus Rog Phone 8 and even a OnePlus 12, quite the opposite 🤷🏽♂️
Asus should have taken the design of the Zenphone 7 Pro with its rotating selfie camera, and moved to 4 years of Android update.
That AI stuff is from Asus or google?
Decent - the word of the day :)
only 2 years os update right for the price id go with a vivo xiaomi flagship instead
Very good phone bro
Every phone an ultra now😢
Cool they keep headphones jack
Why does no one review the selfie cam for video? No one does video calls? Always left out.
I like Limp Bizkit as well.
❤❤❤❤❤
A rebranded ROG phone. Looks like Asus gave up.
the zenfone department shut down late summer. they just gave their name up to the sole surviving phone department, the rog, to keep the name alive or whatever
I would look past the ommision of a charging adapter just for that Headphone jack. Getting an adapter is ridiculously easier compared to an alternative to wired audio, specially if you wanna stream from android devices. I hope that it returns soon, Bluetooth is, was and will remain a garbage audio solution and same goes for USB c audio.
Most people wanting a quality listening experience will listen at home with a much better audio setup than the ASUS can provide. High fidelity is not the number one preserve; discretion, using the assistant, noise cancellation, taking voice calls, etc., are what matter to 99.9999% of people out and about.
@@andyH_England Then you do not understand my point, wired auiod has little to no latency and unparalleled reliability, say for in a scenario I mentioned already - streaming and gaming. You would be surprised how few people even care about audio quality or even think about it in the first place. a $5 wired earphone set will always outperform even then most expensive set of wireless buds or even headphone in terms of latency and in most (unsurprisingly) cases the audio quality itself. Also, I personally had never heard anyone complain about noise issues on wired audio since the phone/pc/whatever player always acted as the master device with a vastly superior SOC to handle the audio than one could fit in a wireless solution like TWS ear/headphones. With wireless comes extra and unnecessary processing and in most cases filtering of the audio that just does not feel right. You worry about the Bluetooth version, compatabily on assistants which mind you was not even something people thought about with wired audio, if the pair had an inline control button it would trigger the assistant no matter the device. Wireless audio is a moneygrabbing scam and the inconveniences far outweigh the 1 expendable feature that is just not having a cable. That is not to say I am against wireless technology but Bluetooth is simply garbage for audio. I am not speaking out of speculations either, I own a pair of wired AUDIO TECHNICA ATHM20X, a pair of LOGITECH Office wired Headphone with mic, SENNHEISER HD 350BT, A pair of ONEPLUS BUDS (Not mine but within the family), A pair of vivo TWS (Not mine either) and all the wireless (Especcially TWS BUDS) sound harsh and sharp compared to my wired solution including the $6-7 pair of office ones from logitech. The staging, depth and spatial emulation is simply more precise and easy on the ears. And if you are indeed correct about these 99.9999..% people, then they are sadly too dumb to understand when they're being ripped off. There is and will potentially never be a good alternative to wired audio.
My man is getting huge by each video
Pumping that iron 😂
This looks like the least enthusiastic Ultra Phone out there, literally in every department. The display resolution is pretty low, 1080p whereas even mid range 2023 and 2024 phones have switched to 1200p and Ultra phones coming with 1400p. The Camera bump looks uply and does not match with the rest of the phones, looks more like a after thought. In Camera department, yes, it does have 3 fully functional Cameras but neither of them having much of Ultra features, mid sized sensors, and just decent quality. Front Facing camera lacks 4K recording and that 2 years of update for an Ultra phone is a real bummer.
my asus zenfone 1 is still alive
I thought they were zenfone 4, 5, 6, and jump to zenfone 2
My ROG Phone 5 started dying within half a year since I bought it. Apparently it was quite common - dying motherboard.
Took me way too long to see that the lines on the back is their stylized "A" turned sideways.
I switched to Asus because of the size and many incredible features 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ I will be looking for other compact options.
This phone is DOA with this price and short period of software updates.
Its seldom to see flagship woth headphone jack
I am going to buy this because of 3.5mm audio jack
a monster phone in old costume disguise 😮
The S24's still out there... Although God knows for how long.
Here's my idea: most people like small phones bc they're more dailiable but the problem is they're too expensive and wn u'r paying that much, u r expecting all the features and battery life and wtnot. So y not make smaller midrangers and specially lowrangers? Like the iphone SE or the Galaxy A40. I think smaller phones with good main and selfie camera and light weight body have a real chance in that price bracket
Asus seems listened what people want or maybe they still joined the trend with other brands, which focused on Big Smartphone
Well, big smartphone is good like for Multitasking or consuming media (for my mom, she like it for different chat reading experience), although the minus is portability and handling
Well, My Dad recently bought his new phone protector, and it seems well fitted for big Phones. Was imagining how funny it could happen if it compact Smartphone 😅
I actually love the simple clean design. And the headphone jack makes this device so much better. Does this have a Samsung Dex alternative?
Why we cant get flip camera phone again? Miss full screen display with no hole, or even fingerprint under display. Just make the display perfect beautiful as it is.
2:23 even some base 😂
Is that a waterproof?
IP68
@@ojisun that's good. Thanks for inform.
Why does it looks like a cheap phone from 2016?
Well, you guys complain about a flagship phone without a headphone jack. Now that it has a headphone jack, you complain why it looks like an old phone🤔
😂😂😂😂 bro
@BTG07 same thoughts exactly 😂
I wouldn't mind the look if it has one of the most important feature. But the design has nothing to do with the headphone jack. Manufacturers just got greedy 😂😂
@@rionvalet There are slick designs that still have 3.5mm jacks. Asus dropped the ball on the overall design of this phone, it's a big step back from previous gen.
If if had micro SD support I would bave considered it.
The phone doesn't look premium at all. The last year's zenfone looked distinctly unique. This us a step back. No idea what their marketing feedback was, but this is too bland and forgettable.
If they just made the same phone as last year but updated the chipset and camera slightly, and offered 3/5 year software updates, it'd sell like hot cakes. I don't get their design team, they had a winner and instead of improving on it they joined the herd of ugly generic phones.
@@zxbc1 totally, perhaps they could have had a slightly larger screen, if that was an issue. But last year's phone was great in all aspects...
I think you still need to read the rumours. The ASUS Zenfone sales have tanked, and last year, there was a rumour they would pull it from the market due to terrible sales. Clearly, the decline of the compact phone was one issue; instead, they made a ROG Phone without the flare and called it the Zenfone 11U. That will save money and be a last-ditch attempt to save the phone. So it was this or nothing. When Apple sells 10X more iPhone minis than the Zenfone 9 and discontinues it, it does not take much to understand why ASUS ditched the compact version.
@@andyH_England like I said they could have increased the screen size to mid like 6.3-6.5 and still retained the better looking aesthetics of the previous gen phone. This looks old and bland.
Yeah hate the design looks cheap.
Please Asus, don't leave us without a small, capable phone!
Having a 3.5mm audio jack but not a micro sd slot is like someone doesn't slap your right cheek but still slaps the left one
You get a jack but only two years of software support. Swings and roundabouts, no phone is perfect. For me two years of updates is a no-no.
Im sad they went big but in Australia at least the Zenfone 10 was overpriced at $1299, only $100 less than the S23. If they had price pointed it around the $899 mark it would have sold like hot cakes!
I got Zenfone 5 and 6 before
Being the "ULTRA" model it should have Ultra features like a QHD display. Looks fine but shame i can'yt even entertain the idea of buying one. I am a verizon customer on a CDMA network. OH WELL !
ASUS SHOULD RELEASE BOTH .... THE ZENPHONE 10 AND ZENPHONE 11 IN ASIAN AND OTHER MARKETS TOO !!
AND I REALLLYYYY HOPE THAT ASUS WILL RELEASE A SUB-6 INCH ZENPHONE 11 BESIDES THE 11 ULTRA
Nice review... But god, that's one ugly phone. How? The design team from the ZenFone 10 must hate the team from the ZenFone 11 Ultra.
Looks like their gaming phone in a coat trying to hide its identity
On phones like this if you're not including a desktop mode when docked then it's just a waste really. Samsung & Motorola have included it for years now.
Rip, I liked the zenfone 9 and 10 design man
