If you have recorded with a console and analog hardware compressor on the way in. Is there really need to mix again on the console and most importantly is there need for analog summing

For me, yes! It's a much nicer way to work when you work with people or bands rather than all staring at a screen. It makes mixing a pleasure not a fiddly process or a process that requires multiple extra interfaces to make it seem like you have a console. Adjusting an EQ is done ina. millisecond without taking focus away from the music (and let's be honest, not every track needs a specific type of EQ. Sometimes it just needs a bit less bass or a touch of treble) I like having a clear overview of where the channel levels are and it doesn't take anything away from plug ins. They are still there when you need them. Also, so much great outboard hardware is easy to interface with a console and if you happen to own it, a desk makes total sense. But everyone has a different process..so it's an individual choice.
