You can't see it from the highway. I spoke to the county historian down there who only lives 2 miles from the bridge and she didn't even know about it.
When I find one, I always check the bridge abutments and the concrete at the ends; small plaques may still remain or a date might have been pressed into the concrete. But that does look like late 1920's/early 1930's style work. Probably replaced as a safety measure when the dam was opened, in case it failed. It's the original road because of the old utility poles alongside which still have lines strung from them.
Beautiful old road in the woods. And a stylish bridge too! Thanks!
Glad you liked it.
Satolli, another educational and entertaining video. Kudos and Cheers, Mate.
Glad you still like my work! :)
Awesome find! I've been by that bridge so many time's and never knew it was there! Thanks for sharing it with us!👍

This is about 2 miles from my house. Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
Amazing find, that bridge does look to be in great condition
It is pretty nice.
Wow! Great video. One of my favorites! And all I could think of seeing the creek was maybe some fly fishing! Thanks Satoli!
It is a nice little creek!
Awesome video! Love this kind of find!
Glad you enjoyed it.
We've driven 62 to Bardstown for years and had no idea about the old part of the road!
You can't see it from the new alignment.
Great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!

Exactly!
This reminds me of a small, similar-looking bridge on 25 in Richmond KY that is about to be replaced and demolished. 37°42'42.8"N 84°16'07.0"W
You're right! It is very similar. Do you have any idea when the demolition might take place???
Old concrete prestress bridge built in the 1930s.
Exactly.
Sup I'm from Campbellsville,Ky
Didn't even get under the bridge? Missed the best parts to it.
Too steep for me. Have you ever been under it?
With cables overhead they could need repair or replacement.
Definitely.
Very nice old bridge. They sure don't make them very attractive these days, just boring utilitarian structures for the most part.
I agree 100%.
