Thank you for your player's paddle-to-paddle comparison/review. I bought the Prism Flash 16mm because I have enough self-generated power, but wanted a bit more control and spin potential from the 16mm -- I read that their textures vary a bit and another reviewer reported that the 16mm seemed to generate more spin, which I favor. Liked and subscribed.
Great format of reviewing the paddles. Too many reviews out there just makes general comments about “power” and “control” without differentiating the types of shots you make on the court. Might be a bit of work but you should definitely make more reviews not only of the newer paddles but older ones as well and compare them to the newer ones as to how they hold up, price to performance ratio, etc.
I’m In the market for a new paddle. Your review is compelling for the Flash. Is there a way to get you paid when I buy one? Hahaha! Kidding … not kidding 😃.
Great to see your views on the Vatic Pro. I've been playin the Flash 16mm since the release. I like it and it seems to fit my game. Rec only 3.0-3.5. I've been experimenting with weight to get some power increase. Don't want to buy a 14mm, but for sure support the company and the mission statement for the Rec player.
comparing BnB Filth to VP Flash 16. me and the flash mesh very well. it is noticeably softer than the filth, which itself is a copy of the CRBN 1X. the flash hits hard when you hit hard, but it is very forgiving on moderate drives and softer shots. I find a 125-ish SW to be quite maneuverable, so the flash 115 SW feels like there is nothing there. I prefer the slightly shorter handle of the flash, as I hit a 1hBH and it feels more ...connected with less handle length. both are great, I like the filth, I love the flash. I gravitate to a more angle/dink style of play.
You mentioned the Solaire, which is the paddle that I currently use, and I've been going back and forth one which thermoformed paddle to try. How similar would you say the 14 and 16mm are to the Solare? What are the differences, and is it enough to warrant trying a new paddle vs sticking with the Solaire? Thanks.
What’s your skill and what are you looking to improve if anything in a paddle? How frequently do you play? Do you have soft game or power? Solaire tech is “old” now given what’s in market My issue with it was inconsistency of play when they started to break down It’s an overall great paddle if you’re happy. But if you want more power and more grit - Vatic. 16 mm to Solaire. Don’t get 14 Vatic
@@jillybpickleball - Thank you for your reply. I play once a week with a group of friends and we only play doubles. I liked the solaire because it was very forgiving if you missed the sweet spot. Other paddles I found if you mis-hit a dink or block, the ball just falls to your feet. I suck at drops, so I guess I'm a little bit of a banger until I can get to the net. I'm really just looking for a good all around paddle that's pretty forgiving. Since I don't play singles, I guess I prioritize pop over power.
@@jillybpickleball- I bought and used the Vatic Prism Flash 16mm for the summer and it was fine, but I didn't like the feel and I think my game regressed. I 100% agree with your thoughts on a 14mm paddle vs a 16mm but I let everyone convince me that the 16mm would have more control. I have since purchased the Vatic Pro 14mm and I couldn't be happier. The feedback you get from the paddle is just so much better, especially at the kitchen, and I find myself no longer dinking into the net.

Great review. your form is awesome
Simple, short, out in front.
Kristin at 11 seconds moving quick!!!!
Haha. You don’t miss much!
I returned this to Amazon because what should have been a new paddle was dirty and used. It even had some persons name written on it.
Is that relevant here?
