Saludos Michael. Can u explain the difference between afrocuban drumming and afrobrasilian drumming. l play afrocuban and I always pondered that question. and also where do the different styles come from in respect to Africa. thanks.
Thanks for your clear and informative hand drumming lessons. I appreciate what you are doing. Could one use timbau and surdo to play djembe and djun-djun parts of west African rhythms?
Thank you and of course you can do that. You have to experiment with surdo and timbau. I wish you good luck!
Nice video
Evan Pereira Thank you!
Could you mirror your video's, so when you say left, the viewers left hand goes down

+athruaathrua Well, there are a lot of similarities and a lot of differences. It is difficult to explain (and I don't know everything...) The Yorubas and Bantoes have a great influence in Cuba and Brazil, but the music developed different in Brazil and Cuba. In Brazil they don't use bata's and in Cuba no atabaques. A lot of the songs for the orishas are the same... These are just some examples. I'm always interested in the history. Good luck!
+Michael de Miranda hey Michael thanks for replying brother! l love the way you break down the cuban styles especially.
the Brazilian stuff is a little foreign to me but it's interesting nonetheless. Pa'lante compay!
