- Marcus Santos teaches the Tamanquinho rhythm which comes from his hometown Salvador, Bahia in Brazil. The video covers the basic pattern for Timbau, Repique and Surdos. Agogo and Caixa were also added to this video although they are not traditionally used by the Timbalada group, creators of Tamanquinho.

Hi guys, greeting from Chile. Now we are marching and playing levada y samba reggae on the streets of Chile, in the social movilization against the government. The people likes this groove, by the power and happyness that this music brings.
I have a cuestion: We hear some years ago a powerful musical theme, played by a bloco. In this theme, a woman sings the lyrics. THE FIRST word of the musical theme that woman sing it's "A - FRI -CA".... and the chorus, in some part says "io io io io iooooo"... sorry by this minimal description, but, its all that we remember. The woman sings like Daniela Mercury, a few tones below. Can you help me to find this song????
