I just don't understand how people think it's a great idea to try cooking something they haven't cooked before to win a competition. Wouldn't it be so much better to cook something that you know will work?

Wow... lots of anger in the comment section. Jennie is a pescatarian and the narrator commented on that, then referred to her incorrectly after as a vegan. Both she and Andrew are just mean. Simply put. I was raised a vegetarian and my mum put out food for her guests, not for herself and she did so graciously and without any judgement. People didn’t even notice the meatless dishes on her plates. She didn’t mind one bit that I decided to eat meat; although for health reasons, I’m now on a limited diet. Jennie is a bit of an imposing hypocrite. She’s upset about animals and will only eat those that are killed in a certain way and to her liking; yet she has animal products. Animals which are farmed and killed brutally for their hides, skins and fur. That’s at odds. There’s nothing wrong with being vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian; but just like you expecting others to accommodate your needs and wants, then you should be prepared accommodate your guests theirs. Without the, and I quote, “They’re wrong. I’m right” attitude. She gives vegetarians a bad name.

Tracy's meal could have been so much better if she executed it better. Brent was a sweetheart, and went through a lot of trouble and work with his main and dessert. Andrew was clearly jealous and nit picking. He could have NEVER pulled that off. I guarantee it. Brent should have won, and he can cook me dinner any time!

It will never cease to amaze me when people cry and carry on about not having any meat in one single meal. I'm an omnivore myself but if I was eating at a vegetarian or vegan's house, it wouldn't even occur to me to think they might add a piece of chicken to my dinner. You'd think she was asking them to go without meat for the rest of the year.
Manon initiated a conversation which not only alienated her guest (Andrew) but allowed her other guests (Tracie) to rudely judge and make inappropriate comments. Not good.

I disagree that wild caught fish is better then farm raised fish, there is not enough evidence to support that either one is better than the other. they both have there pros and cons. Now if you are going out there and catching your own fish with a fishing rod, that's a bit different in my opinion.
The vegetarian night she should have added like warm goats cheese to her starter or falafel and her main course could have done with some home made nann bread or chapatis. She could have done a sagg paneer as a side with her main. She also didn't make enough and over cooked the veg. When you don't have meat you really need to up your game. I mean most Indians are vegetarian so if she did some research she could have came up with a much better main.
Really interesting to see how this show is played differently in Canada....for example, the contestants are far more involved in sabotaging their rivals nights than in the British show. Is that a Canadian thing? I haven't only seen it in this episode
