It's over 20 years old my friend. The original .Hack// games that came out on the PS2 never got a remaster or remake. G.U. did but man... that's not where the magic started and it still saddens me.
To think that, somewhere in a far far away universe. Dot Hack is considered one of the greatest multimedia franchises of all time...you have to wonder what that possibility would look like.
It haunts me that this video is over 15 years old at the time of this comment, but the actual game was released over 22 or 23 years ago now. That... really hits hard in a meloncholy sort of way.
Indeed. I still get chills hearing this song, even though it's been many years since I last played through this incredible franchise. ;D Yay for the remake of GU at least!
Always loved this song. It hit me hard when it played during one of the last scenes of //G.U. when Haseo was chasing after Ovan. The feels were real in that scene.
no other song can make you really think deeply about the whole .hack// franchise and realise how big it really is. And the number of different people affected by the actions of others. It's just... an amazing song.
I remember this theme when Balmung finally joins you. That theme symbolize that there is hope even in the darkest times. Ah, how I love the Dot Hack series. :D
Google Translate: The lake of Alba is seething The great tree fell from light Beings without shadow, Their world falls apart into nothing The man with shadows, He'll be back here soon.
I'm starting to believe that there are multiple timelines within this series (Aura never stays consistent throughout the series). TL1: Chibi Aura exist throughout the time line up to "Links". TL2: Chibi Aura evolves into her teenage self while being chased by Skeith at the start of the 1st .HACK// game.
Wow. I've played the german versions of the .hack-Games for years and I've always loved that song and now is the first time that I realize that the songtext is actually german. Even if it's quite hard to understand.
Der See von Alba brodelt. Der große Baum von Licht fiel . Wesen ohne Schatten, ihr' Welt zerfällt zu nichts. Der Mann mit Schatten, er kehrt bald hierher zurück.
yes that is correct, The Creator of "The World" Harald Hoerwick created the game to be the embodiment of Emma's last Work (The Epitaph Of Twilight) And with the both of them being German, it would fit with it. the spells all sounded like a mix of German/Latin to me.
i think (but i just think) that the artist who made this is yuki kajiura. she's been doing great .hack soundtrack for the anime or the game so i guess she is the one who made this song
Something i need to say about the translation of the lyrics. To my recollection Alba in german means dawn aka Aura, which what do ya know happens to be her english name. Thanks for puting this here its really nice. ;)
One more tidbit, since many people are asking. Anyways, this song isn't actually done by Yuki Kajiura. It's done by the three composers from the 4-vol games, one of which went on to compose GU's music. Yuki Kajiura DID make a theme named Aura for SIGN, but it is far different from this one. The vocals for the .hack//SIGN themes were all mostly done by Emily Bridinger (sp?). The actual vocalist for this song, from the games, I do not know. However, it is not the same person.
well, acording to the story of .hack, the creator of ''the world'' (not the real creators, the creator of the game in the story, i dont know how to explain it XD) create the game based on a german poem writer named Emma Wielant that write the epitaph of twilight so, yeah the game have many thigs in german like the name of the spells (or so i heard) anyone kwow that is this true?
the shadow is reffering to Kite, in the original tale thats mentioned, the people with shadows are the humans that entered the fairy land. if i recall correctly the man with shadows was the hero of White which in this case was Kite
acctually, it could be talking about many, many things. harold, or even cubia. theres also reference to the twilight dragon and a shadowed warrior who chases him. the "shadow" refers to alot in .hack. haseo probably has nothing to do with it, as he wasnt even in the plans when .hack//infection came out. he was just sora then, and was there to wrap up the "sign" plot. the lost grounds are major points in the epitaph of twilight, which is what this is based on, so of course its mentioned.
I'm in love, I feel like she's singing Latin but I can find a transcript anywhere to even attempt to interpret the lyrics Anyone have any better luck this little goddess is kinda spiritually relevant for all of us right now after all 🎉
I think that the creation of Aura was planned by Dominique de Mirabeau all this time. She wanted a power that would stop any human activities on earth which in turn was placing humanity into the computer world which was later would called the Immortal Dusk. In the Thanatos Report (an OVA that was bundled in .hack//Versus), she called Aura the Origin and that Emma Wielant the wife of Harald Hoerwick is a member of the organization mama along with other people who would eventually found the Altimit Corporation but mama was declared a terrorist group sometime in the future. Maybe i have a theory of sorts, could have been that de Mirabeau perpetrated the accident that would eventually kill Harald's beloved wife and originally that she chose Harald to create the power she wanted but he denied the offer because he was busy in other projects.
I am not sure if that light novel series starring Flugel's real-life counterpart (set after Immortal Dusk, called .hack//Bullet) was ever finished, but even some of that information seems to tie into the main scheme of things.
i was searching for it and saddly i couldn't find the lyrics, the people says its in german (obviously) and it's very hard to translate but.. I WANT THE LYRICS TOO¡¡¡ XD if you find it please let me know
@mayasaotome Lol for many many reasons. I work at a Dollarama, nothing epic is going on there, unless you count epic idioty, courtesy of our many clients (and my collegue Cath :D).
I can't and i will never be able to describe how incredibly beautiful this piece of art is. I could hear it for ever.
Welcome To [The World], My Friend
It's wild that ppl still don't know about this entire franchise
We fans do, though.... :-)
We the dothackers do 😊
Too many epitaph users would just water the wave down.
We are HERE my friend

Good. I want as many ppl as possible away from it
15? The videogame is 22 years old i played it back then 2003
@@javiersalazar2153 that's what he literally said.
Aura is and will always be an important character in the Dot Hack universe. Without her, The World and the real world would have fallen by Morganna.
Without her The World wouldn't exist.
Indeed. I still get chills hearing this song, even though it's been many years since I last played through this incredible franchise. ;D Yay for the remake of GU at least!
She is the only reason the world needs to exist
A great force, the power it holds can bring forth either salvation or destruction at the whim of the User.
-Aura
I feel like I'm witnessing a creation and destruction at the same time
This is actually on point if you consider Aura's role in the plot.
Yup that's the point. She's the "Twilight Goddess" twilight is both dawn and dusk; the start and end of a day.
One of the other songs on the OST features lyrics that say “auguries of destruction be a lullaby for rebirth,” so I think you’re into something there
Aura gets symbolically crucified by skeith to help Kite save the world near the end of the first game.... death and rebirth symbolism
Guys. There's a giant infinity sign on her collar...
It ain't that deep.
Always loved this song. It hit me hard when it played during one of the last scenes of //G.U. when Haseo was chasing after Ovan. The feels were real in that scene.
The story of an Artificial intelligent being, collecting data of human emotions from a MMORPG game, Aura's story is amazing indeed....
Don't forget Lycoris
"I am an unwanted child. Even God doesn't want me."
"I wanted to continue to live in this world, but ... I cannot become Aura."
@@Cyb3rb0b Yeah poor Lycoris, her story and the other vagrant AI's are more tragic..., they exist just for Aura's sake.
simular to Yui from SAO but this is before Yui
@@no_se_nada_de_nada Still they fully did not hate Aura and i think maybe some still had some kind of love for her.

Welcome back?

Once in a while every year i come to listen this song...good memories
Still gives me goosebumps
This song reminds me both Aura (of original series) and Ovan's little sister, Aina (from G.U. series). I don't get tired of hear it

harald hoerwick & emma wielant's daughter! :)
come on mate, without the myserious-ness and feeling of wanting to know more this series of anime and games drastically reduces in beauty
Aura had inherited the intellect of a genius, and the heart of a poet.
how..can anyone dislike this
i do not understand
7 dislikes one for each morganna phase, we know who disliked this now.
Your reaction is like what Aura would say, she was indeed slightlt confused why human can detest beautiful things in .hack//Sign.
Good music cartoon

Wait a sec, isn't the girl at 2:02 Lycoris? I'm really rusty on my dot hack lore (cause you know, this is Aura's Theme)
Yeah, it's the cover to the first AI Buster novel.
lyrcoris is a fragment of aura,no?
I thought lycoris was the first aura but wasn't perfect for morganna so she got terminated 🤔
@ChronosCatharsis
That is the GU "Hulle Granz" Cathedral theme. It's nice but not nearly as good as the original in terms of sorrow
I played little .hack but even I know that it's a crime that the franchise is in a cold standby. Namco should totally revitalized this

There is one more mistake; She sings "Der Mann mit Schatten kehrt nie mehr zurück"
her grunty lost his eye in the war (?)
I would be happy if they made a Russian version of this song TT v TT
@CooperClan009 Haha may be. Yet I am a native German speaker ;) Therefore I can grasp what she sings. Even though it is quite bad pronounciation
