@@blitzie66 the two scenes that combined to break me was the piano scene with chroniko's aunt and vanilla dying with chroniko's body, sacrificing himself for kaiba's memories. And what's even sadder is that kaiba probably only thought of him as a friend, not a love interest. Tho like to think that maybe there might have started to be that sort of thing between them if vanilla didn't die and neiro didn't run into kaiba on that planet with the old couple.

What happened in the ending, where it looked like Kaiba was feeding memories to the plant while it got torn apart? I think Warp’s origin is up to interpretation, but the ending felt rather… gainaxy? editing my one month old comment, here's what i gathered the original warp defeated the kaiba plant(which formed out of originalwarp's loneliness as his technology was misused(similar to patch from abipa)) the first time it appeared with his happy memories, so he lost them in the process. after his own mother poisoned him and now having to bear the responsibilities of being king alone, the main character, kaiba, tried to commit suicide(speculation) which is why he looked so peaceful while falling. we see in the flashback episode that he makes new happy memories with neyro and the end is an internal conflict between the nihilistic warp and the loving kaiba i'm still not completely sure why the kaiba plant appeared again though and if it's the same as warp? kaiba's my first 10/10 on MAL. i understand some parts could be better, such as how rushed the last episodes felt, but at this rate i'm going be too stingy to rate anything a 'masterpiece'.
What does "scat version" mean? I want to use this version for an assignement but I'll need to translate it, and english is a language I'm still learning, but the only definition I could find for "scat" is kinda dirty :'D
im not sure if it has translations in other languages but scatting is basically like singing without saying real words, like how in that version of the song the singer just makes sounds instead of singing the lyrics
You definitely should! I judged this anime really hard by its looks, but the story, the lore, and the situations the anime presents are deeper than you think, give it a try! It will not dissapoint you
