Yes boys and girls, that’s a cassette tape. Think Betamax or VHS for music, and early pc data,,, listen at me, comparing a cassette tape to similar tech from the same time period. Might as well bring up 8 track tapes. Anyway, the compact laser disc did to cassette tapes what cassettes did to vinyl records, even though vinyl does sound better. All one has to do now is have a device that they upload music files into wirelessly. What’s next, implants directly into the brain? Should do wonders for sound quality, but imagine how expensive that’ll be.
I was born in the right country, at the right time, and I'm guessing the right background as I was studying in London and heavily into producing IDM (hate the phrase!) when this came out. None of that matters though! As long as you somehow found this gem you were in the right place at the right time and were lucky enough to enjoy something many others will never discover.
LFO LFO was Warp records first release. 001 in 1990. Aphex twins first release was in 1992 on Apollo, out of Belgium. Signed to Warp Records in 1993. Check the LFO Leeds Warehouse mix or Simon From Sydney. Stunning stuff back in 1991.
