Chongqing was never a colony, but during World War II, it temporarily served as the capital of China and experienced extensive bombing by Japan. When he was young, China was still in the process of developing, and Western countries were indeed ahead of China at that time. Even today, some older generations still hold impressions of Western countries based on what they were like during their youth.

Wonderful Content Adam and Yaz! 👍Unlike Chengdu City, Chong Qing hasn't been a touristy destination for very long, especially for international tourist. And that's why people could encounter some unconveniencies there, such as the payment issue. But I guess that's also why you met those lovely girls doing survey of foreign tourists, they're working on it to make Chong Qing more foreigner-friendly.
I dare say that Chongqing is the craziest weight loss city in the world because there are slopes and stairs everywhere. So it's hard to see fat people.
i remembered that 30 years ago i went to portugual and every place was soo amazing.... i went to the Netherlands 25 years ago and I still wanted to visit... those places were so different and i would never be tired.... everyone should travel to see different places to make their life different.....

Chongqing actually has a lot more to offer in its beautiful surroundings. Yeah it does sound something like that, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense, I wouldn’t expect some random person coming up to people and speak as if they have zero filter.

It's crazy how busy Chongqing is. I would probably get sensory overload there since Florida could be more exciting. Great job with the chopsticks, but why no beer?
You can use Alipay in Chengdu, but the problem in Chongqing may be due to the lack of cooperation agreements between foreign banks and some public transportation agencies or corporate institutions in China. This problem will not occur with any local bank card in China, so foreign tourists can only prepare some cash as a backup.
Shenzen has the best building light show....but all of the big cities are like this even though everyone seems to go to Shanghai, Chongqing and Chengdu...but all the other large cities are similar with the building night lights
@18:50. I'm positive the man said: We China has not surpassed England. Regardless whether this is true, it is indeed a common sentiment of the old generations in China. China was defeated by the Britains during the opium war and, for over 100 years afterwards, the Chinese were deeply humiliated by foreigners. It is actually grateful to see people in China today are so friendly towards foreigners.
29:19 well it’s just ancient inspired/looking..... this place is finished around 2007/2008, when I was preparing my SAT test and applying a US college. I used to love this place and I always came here, find a tea house or just Starbucks to do homework. As it went popular there is no longer any chance for anyone to study here 😂😂😂 back in the time I could drive in there on first floor to the parking lot with my friends and show them this place, now it is even impossible to drive near it. When it’s national holidays, the bridge would be closed to traffic, making it a pedestrian bridge just for the tourists...... and the whole bridge is packed with people😢
In minute 33:19 the bracelet looks amazing and shiny. I believe from the information about the root you read, the root you picked is not found in abundance or it is rather scarce or difficult to find or pick, thus, the hefty price you paid. I don't think it is a tourist/foreigner price necessarily, but rather due to the scarcity or difficulty in finding it perhaps (it would be like comparing the price of gold and copper, for example, where copper is more abundant than gold and thus more affordable than gold).
