🧭 ABOUT US
Hi! We are Helen and Tim. We are adventure travelers that have been on the road full-time since January 2023. We are based in Portland, Oregon, and have been together for over 10+ years and share a love for the great outdoors through hiking, camping, skiing, and more! We grew up in Dallas, Texas (Helen) & DuBois, Pennsylvania (Tim).
Our goal is to hike the world one mountain at a time. We love to inspire people to get outdoors no matter if the adventure is big or small. Post-hike, we enjoy the local flavors and foods, and a cold drink (beer for Tim and kombucha for Helen).
There is so much in the world to see, even if it is in our own backyards. We started filming our adventures in the Pacific Northwest and that has evolved into filming our international travels.
Thanks so much for watching! We will see you on the next trail! 🥾
Have you been to Japan before? Or have you always wanted to go?We would love to know what you loved about it or what you look forward to when you visit. Let us know if you have any questions!
I miss Japan!! Great video!!🍜🍶
Thanks, Phil! It’s a great spot! Thought of you when we saw Disneyland. We didn’t have time this taken around but hope to make it out there again to go.
Nice clarification on Hello Kitty Tim! Lol
I was really looking forward to Japan. My son has friends there. We hope to rent a place there and experience Japan for a few months. Looking forward to it more now.
HAHA Hello Kitty is Tim's favorite and he just doesn't want to admit it 🤣 Going to Japan for a few months sounds amazing! You and your son would love it. There is so much to see and we have barely scratched the surface. We really want to go back and visit Hiroshima and some of the other islands. Excited for you your future adventures.
Awesome! I Have watched around 13 of your videos just since last thursday and that can tell how much I have loved them starting with the ones in Ak- which i visited on a cruise last April esp the southeast side. I intend to catch up with the rest of the videos you guys shared and looking forward to the new ones. Great!
Just out of curiosity. Have you guys made a final list of the countries you are planning to visit within these 2 years or are your future itineraries still flexible and subject to change? If you guys dont mind sharing that.
Thanks for sharing!
Kamal in Minnesota.
Hello Kamal! We are glad you found us! Excited to have you along for our adventures. So great to catch us early in our UA-cam journey. Still learning how to get better at this storytelling stuff and being in front of the camera 😊For year 1 we will mostly be in Europe and Asia, but some already on our list that is currently planned include Switzerland, France, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Norway, Turkey, Nepal, New Zealand, Thailand, and may add 1 or 2 more in between there. We are trying to slow down, but there is so much to see. In year 2 we are remaining flexible. Likely we will start from Patagonia/South America in 2024 and work our way up. Thanks for your support! If you have any interest, we put together a detailed newsletter that goes out 2 or 3 times via-email per month on in-depth updates, hiking gear and info, travel hacking, and more! You can sign up at www.helenandtimtravel.com. Cheers! Happy trails!
❤
Thank you so much!
You’re welcome! Please reach out if you ever have any questions.
Hello there from Japanese living in Tokyo ! I just would like you to know that Nara is not a part of Osaka. It is completely different prefecture located down to Osaka prefecture. Anyway, I hope you had a good time in Japan!!
We had a good time! Sorry we should’ve made it clear in the video that we also provided day trip ideas in and around Osaka and that it was in a different prefecture ☺️ thank you for the message
I think you've nailed most/all the sites I'd like to see in Osaka, if you had 2 weeks in Japan how much time would you dedicate to Osaka? Was this in just 2 days (if so that's pretty impressive)?
You’re going to love it! We miss all it already. We stayed in Osaka for 3 nights and explored for about 2 days. We had one day to recover from traveling ☺️ Two to three full days would be good. It also depends on how many other cities you want to explore. We did Osaka, Kyoto, Mt Fuji area, and Tokyo across 14 days. Wish we have an extra day in Tokyo since that was the tail end of our trip.
Also, If you go to Nara Park go in the morning/late morning especially if you are there on the weekend. We will have a part 2 with Kyoto, Mt Fuji, and Tokyo.
