I really do enjoy your videos, I’ve been gardening since I was a toddler with my grandfather and now I just turned 58 and I have to say out of all the garden channels I have watched I just love yours. I love your energy I love your dog and I love the fact that I’ve actually learned a few things from you that I’ve wondered about. James has the most phenomenal garden I have ever seen. And his enthusiasm. And his little dog Tuck. I texted out to a slew of my friends and family: "If you watch only one video from me this week...let it be this!" Much love from Ohio!
My name is Brenda. I live in California. This my first time to start a garden. I’ve really have enjoyed learning something new. What I’m interested is why you and many other’s started gardening? The garden bug bit me because I hate buying store brought tomatoes. As I started planting different items and watching them grow I noticed that I started getting up earlier to start my day because I suffer from depression. I have a black cat that follows me around garden every morning just like your dog does with you. It’s nice to see that you can plant things and watch them grow and enjoy the harvest. Keep up the good work. I will keep watching as long as you Keep putting out new videos. I’m already hooked fan!!!
I have a Stanley plum I planted ten years ago and I am sure it will have over 300 pounds of fruit on it this year! I love seeing the fruit trees grow and produce in abundance.
TUCK is the greatest!! ❤❤ Love to see him eat all those veggies! Really like to watch all your videos..most of them 2 or more times. Gives me a lot of ideas. THANKS!!
New food forest area looks great. What I like is how you have a wilder foresty food forest (the oldest one), this is the design I like the most. But you also have the newer food forest set out to a more organized way, to help convert the organized gardeners over to permaculture. I've watched you since your channel had under 1k subs, so I love how you've grown. Spreading permaculture to the world. The more content producers we can get, the better. I'm a zone colder than you, so I always like checking in with you now and then to see how your garden is doing, because I'm a few weeks behind you.
I went back to watch your first videos and WOW! This is so inspiring to see what you’ve done with your backyard starting only 8 years ago. Proves we don’t need multiple acres or a southern zone to eat well all year. Love the channel, thanks!
James, you make me smile. I love your love of gardening and your inspiration to all of us. Little Tuck is just the sweetest. I lost three peach trees last year so I'm slowly trying to replace them. Thinking about trying a nut tree. 🌻🌷🌻🌷
I always appreciate the fact that you mute the eating sounds. It's a nice consideration! It may sound strange but thanks! By the way. I really enjoy your chanel. Please keep up the great work!
Just bought four raised Birdies from Epic Gardening. I am 64 yo, 5 feet 8 inches tall. I bought the 18 inch high bed. The next ones will DEFINITELY be the 30 inch high. I platformed mine on two tiers of cinder blocks 8x8x16. I LOVE the height. It's a garden luxury and the rabbits can't eat that high.
Honestly as a content producer myself I am impressed how you did this in one long continuous shot. That's pretty impressive! One thing, at 12:50 that people may be confused on... he said early frost but I think he meant late frost because he was talking about fruiting/flowering times. Also the point was a little muddied. What actually matters here is that if you are in a VERY SUNNY location, that any tree there will bloom SOONER than if it were in a shadier position. So if you combine an early bloomer with a sunny location, you can have a lifetime of problems with losing the entire harvest off that tree to it blooming very early then getting hit by a frost.. However, if you put that early bloomer in a shadier position, then it will just naturally bloom later in that spot, and may dodge the late frosts. Similarly, if you have a shady position, you can go with some earlier blooming varieties, because their actual blooming will get delayed a week or two and they should still dodge that late-frost. I hope that was all clear, and I think it was all straight in James' head, but I think it came out slightly differently.
Can't believe this channel is at 740k already I was here at 50k this is so awesome much love James and tuck keep up the great information and great content!!!💯💯💯🙏🏻🙏🏻

Can you do a video series about how you process, preserve, or store your harvests? I started my food forest last year with a huge wood chip delivery and I just planted my first fruit trees!
Mine will eat carrots and peas, only if they have been cooked with meat. He likes sweet potato and pumpkin, but it has to be mixed into meat. He doesn’t even eat peanut butter. Even worse, it’s a beagle! 😂 Couple times I gave him minced parsley in his food (for breath) and I got the death stare.
It's good for their digestion just don't let them near the onions. Predators in the wild with eat the stomach contents of the herbivores they prey on that's how they typically get their greens. I'm surprised more dog and cat foods don't add in some fiber.

Gorgeous garden tour! Hi, Tuck ! Thanks for all of your tips, Jersey blueberries are epic! We are 3 years into a xeriscape food forest, it’s a joy to see your progress.
I LOVE your gardening channel. And that's awesome you and Kevin at Epic gardening collaborate. Your enthusiasm is so contagious. A big THANKS to you and Tuck for always informing us newbies and making us smile. 💚🌻☀️🍓🥕
I'm starting my first garden this year and I'm just binging your videos! The tours are so inspirational and your how-to/topical videos have filled my notebook with information. I live in NE Ohio which happens to be the same hardiness zone as yours and so your favorite varieties are helpful to guide me, too! Keep it up. Love your and Tuck's work!
I secured some free straw mulch from my local Farm Supply, they let you go sweep up the ground near all the straw bales! Free black trash bag full of mulch that'll last into next year!
What do you do with so much food? Can you eat it all or do you give a lot away or preserve most of what you don’t eat? It’s spring when I’m watching this and I get more and more excited about getting started as I watch each of your videos. You can get anyone excited about gardening with your enthusiasm! Louise Jacobs
14:42! Wow! Amaranth! This is a vey popular vegetable crop in my country Malaysia. It's available all the time in every market and supermarket in Malaysia, one of the cheapest food vegetable to feed Malaysians! And most Malaysians when they garden will definitely pick amaranth as one of their favorites (mine too!). We call it "bayam" which means spinach but it's not really spinach. When I was in Utah in 1990s, I saw a lot of amaranth growing wild along small dirt roads. I immediately picked them to eat. The plants looked exactly like Malaysian amaranth. Some of my American fiends warned me it could be poisonous. But I took my chance and ate it because I was confident it was OK to eat it. And I am still surviving till today to tell the story! Haha! Initially I never thought amaranth could grow in cool climates like Utah.
You have an amazing show, my friend. You get to the information fast and you say it so clearly understood. I would hope that you pick up some awesome backers to put you in a bigger yard 😉 so that you can really get after it. Why not work with your local municipality to start a community garden and make your program totally community involved? Proud of you. Take care.
Thanks again for an inspiring video❣Looking forward to your videos on maintaining the food forests. Tuck 🙂 looked all 'tuckered' out after having his fill of carrots and radishes. He needed a rest.
James, I've watched off and on, last video I realized I really needed to subscribe. You are always so full of energy and valuable information! Tuck is awesome & you are an awesome Yorkie Dad. The extreme heat is too hard on him, you recognize that, you offer him clean water or let him stay inside -- kudos to you for how you care for him. I am planning an area for permaculture in my yard. I am going to wait until Fall to plant the fruit trees when they will have an easier adjustment. Your food forest is looking beautiful & fruitful.
I love watching your videos I watch them over and over and Tuck the best I have been trying to do veggies for the last couple years thank you for your videos you are a very happy Gardener makes me want to keep trying
Love the garden tours! Would love to see some videos of how you use all of this food! Maybe some preservation techniques and some of your go-to recipes for mid summer.
Another small-size mulch you can try is the rabbit bedding sold at places like WalMart; it's small pine shavings. The stuff may blow away, though so your mileage may vary.
Love it man. I chopped down a few trees, tore down down an old fence to make way for my food forest. So far I have a peach tree two pair trees, blue berries strawberries and grapes as perennials and then various annuals.
Hi James almost everything looks great! You didn't mention your onions (visible at 6:43) but I see that the tops are curling and unfortunately in our area that's a sign of allium leaf miner. You'll find larvae and brown pupae in the bulbs. I'm in South Jersey and lost over 200 onions to the miner this spring. Next year I have to grow them under insect netting.
It's so incredible when Tuck follows you and shows interest in everything you do, as if he's saying "look, these brassicas sure are doing great, just like James says... ooh a carrot!" By the way, what does Tuck eat other than veg?
Thank you so much! You saved my fruit trees last year when I pruned them properly after watching your videos on pruning. The year before I almost lost my peach tree due to the heavy weight of the peaches snapping branches. I had to do some serious cutting. After pruning last year and at the beginning of this spring my peach and apricot trees are doing amazing!

I'm going to have to look through your videos for Raspberry videos. I planted 3 plants. And they're growing like mad. But the shoots get real tall then fall over. Your Raspberry shoots look like they're growing straight up. Beautiful.
James, we LOVE watching you tour the garden and yes, we are SO jealous! We live in zone 10 so we can't grow some of the produce that you grow - but we live vicariously through you! We got 4 Birdies Beds from Gardeners Supply and LOVE them. We also use Vegepods and 4' x 20" x 20" planters for various fruit/veggies. Now we're branching out to growing tumeric and ginger in the ground because even though we have them in beds, it takes SO long to harvest that we want to plant more. You have TONS of produce - I wish I was Tuck!

Always look forward to your videos. Can’t believe you’re right across the water from me and growing so much. NY weather has been nuts lately
I haven't watched his yard work fir a while but I'm glad he still enjoying his harvesting
You are so encouraging, James. I always appreciate that.
So happy to see your garden is doing so well this year. You definitely have a green thumb = a lot of work.
Your food forest is so beautiful. The effort in design makes a bountiful harvest.
I'm about to get a Loquat or two. Thanks for the inspiration.
Let’s Gooo Jay!!!
Been harvesting my strawberries for about a week now, my white mulberries too, apples are swelling, just so much production going on in my own food forest inspired by you!
Gorgeous garden tour! Hi, Tuck ! Thanks for all of your tips, Jersey blueberries are epic! We are 3 years into a xeriscape food forest, it’s a joy to see your progress.
Your upbeat attitude in each video motivates me in the garden.
The diversity in your garden is looking amazingly amazing
What do you do with so much food? Can you eat it all or do you give a lot away or preserve most of what you don’t eat? It’s spring when I’m watching this and I get more and more excited about getting started as I watch each of your videos. You can get anyone excited about gardening with your enthusiasm! Louise Jacobs
Hey don't forget to harvest the wood sorrel mixed in with your spinach at about 3:45.
14:42! Wow!
I started a food forest last fall and your videos have been very helpful to me. Thank you 😊
I am addicted to your videos. I am starting my own garden in Chicago, and I’m thinking I need a couple more fruit trees. Thanks James!!!
Take care.
Thanks William! Yeah that would be fun, as long as Tuck can continue running the show I am in!
Thanks again for an inspiring video❣Looking forward to your videos on maintaining the food forests. Tuck 🙂 looked all 'tuckered' out after having his fill of carrots and radishes. He needed a rest.
I hope to be half as good a gardener you are! Thanks for sharing with us 😊🌱
You will be better cause you won't waste your time making the same mistakes I did! hahah 🤣
I love watching you and Tuck, makes me want to get out in my garden!💚
Love your channel James and Tuck ! I love how he loves to munch on all the veg 💗
Love it man. I chopped down a few trees, tore down down an old fence to make way for my food forest. So far I have a peach tree two pair trees, blue berries strawberries and grapes as perennials and then various annuals.
Wow! What a great job you've done. I'm slowly starting back in the yard.
Thank you for sharing and caring I also believe in fruit and vegetables for the future is a big thing and I am teaching my kids that
He hope's you ENJOYED IT. He hopes you GOT SOMETHIN' OUTOVIT... It's JAMES PRIGIONI! Thanks for the amazing tour, James!
Planted my first pear tree. We are so looking forward to seeing it fruit! Thanks for the inspiration.
It's so incredible when Tuck follows you and shows interest in everything you do, as if he's saying "look, these brassicas sure are doing great, just like James says... ooh a carrot!" By the way, what does Tuck eat other than veg?
You are such an inspiration! I am excited to be starting my oun food forest! Thank you for all you and Tuck do!!
Oh uck is so cute with his little carrot picking self lol 🥰
James you are very devoted and really enjoy what you are doing and it shows love your and tucks videos great inspearation to all.
James you get me pumped about gardening you make it look easy.
Wow.
I am love 💘Your Gardening
I am from Thailand but living in Danbury CONNECTICUT .
I am starting Growing Tomas and Thai Pepper and Cucumber and Sweet Spring beans and more herbs 🌿in my backyard condominiums.
Beautiful garden. Thank you for showing and generosity of your teaching. Appreciate it
I'm going to have to look through your videos for Raspberry videos. I planted 3 plants. And they're growing like mad. But the shoots get real tall then fall over. Your Raspberry shoots look like they're growing straight up. Beautiful.
I juice my excess greens with lemons in a masticating juicer and freeze the juice in ice trays to add to smoothies later.
