Sanity Level: Struggling
Hang in there, bud. Stepping up and helming your own channel is gunna vastly up your workload. And lets face it, you're not exactly tackling a clear and simple subject with topics like the 36 Lessons. This is gunna take effort, but we know you can do it.
We are behind you 100%
You should consider putting these in a playlist.
It'll put more eyes on the videos AND make them easier to watch.
Go visit Sanguine for a few hours!
Something tells me that may be embellishing his origin story a little.
Drewmora; Come for the Lore, Stay for the Milk Fingers.
Delicious milk fingers 😋

Drew: This obviously wasn't meant literally.
Vivec: *this video*
Drew: Seems legit.
May your sanity survive this series ❤
Spoiler alert: It didn't
Isn't it insane how a video game has birthed a world and lore that in my opinion stands equal with some of the best fantasies written. So well written you get sucked as its a real history. Even the inconsistencies are written as its a scholars interpretation and not to be fully believed. Fucking love it. Love your work gets me through my day
Morrowind lore is both familiar and unique at the same time. It borrows elements from past myths and fictions, but presents it in a way that is it's own unique myth. In a way it continued where Daggerfall left off. The secret of who built Great Numidium, it's original purpose before Tiber Septim used it to conquer Tamiel, how the tribunal became gods and so on.
Although it's fiction, I am more interested in the elder scrolls god's than those of the real world.
its a box of toys. your brain brings it to life. THE MAGIC OF MORROWIND IS THE GAMERS DREAM
@@MikeTooleK9S Couldn't explain it better myself. The godhead of Morrowind is the player themselves living their dream world through the various heros of Tamrielic legend. Only thing missing are plumbers and shyguys. ;)
A shame bethesda games rott dekline and killed all in more redcons. Same with fallout. Good fight loot and explore games. But no rpg anymore.
Drew just casually dropping "dwemer technology is fueled by the life blood of Lorkan" like its no big deal! *mind blown*
I understood the "We must misinterpret this" line as referring to the Dwemer trying to rationalize what has happened and come up with a "logical" explanation for something that defies the very logic they hold so dear. Basically resorting to pseudoscience (interpreting the evidence in a way that fits a predetermined conclusion rather than following the evidence wherever it leads) to explain a supernatural miracle.
I think the line "We must go and misinterpret this" is meant as a slam on the Dwemer and their wisdom. I take it when the Dwemer says "Nothing is of any use" that they are saying it rather moronically; he's knocking them.
It's similar to when Vivec stares in Sermon 5 "the Dwemer in their haste built [the Simulacrum] shoddily' which is something we know the Dwemer didn't do: shoddy work. It's an insult or a sneer.
i also think it's likely that the line was meant to mock the dwemer, not something they really said. "quick, let's go be idiots!" basically
Mr. Drew, I still love to hear your "telling" of the things we've all read (and, speaking for myself alone) never understood. With your help, things become a little clearer. For that, I thank you sincerely.
3rd Sermon, and I've just Zero Summed for the weekend 😔 I'm gonna need the next one. I'm going to achieve Chim, the next go round, I swear!
"Nothing is of any use, we must go and misinterpret this" is a fantastic, and also kinda funny quote.
I'm starting to really feel these sermons. Epic video Drew
I love the subtle jokes you lace your videos with. So good
I just wanna say thank you for delving into Vivec and his story, it’s always nice to get an outside perspective in the things we don’t understand
Please continue this series
I wish you’d continue this series
I think the "misinterpret this" thing is, like Vehk's insistence the Dwemer don't know love, simply his disdain for Dwemer culture shining through in his writings.
I have always loved Vivec's lines about love. And you explained them beautifully, Drew.
Oh yes, more of Drew embarking on more 36 Lessons shenanigans. This should be extremely interesting.
Never tire of listening to all this. Dunmer literally have the best lore in TES.
Yes Drew! These are so great to listen to in the background or watching directly, the visuals are great. I usually listen while walking the dogs, house work, tedious jobs and playing Skyrim! I like listen while exploring or grinding in Skyrim, it’s like channelling the elder scrolls universe
Holy shit I didn't even see the notification it just appeared under my fingers from a random tap on my phone! Seems it's my destiny to watch this video RIGHT NOW
Can't wait for Sermon #4 !! This was a beautiful experience
It would be awesome if you could continue this series! Its really cool for someone whos only Morrowind is ESO. You could put multiple lessons per video
I really hope you do Sermon 4 soon!
My current interpretation of "Nothing is of any use. We must go and misinterpret this." is as follows:
When faced with "nothing" aka not getting any answers while probing our minds and the external world for the TRUTH of everything (whatever that is or if it even exists), humans tend to "misinterpret" rather than have nothing. Because you can take nothing and make anything out of it (if that makes sense) thus nothing can be of "any use". So in a very funny, sarcastic way, I feel as though the Dwemere are being self-aware and breaking the fourth wall here. Misquote: "We've got nothing. So let's go ahead, take the info, and twist it however we want."
Listening to a lot of Elder Scrolls lore, I've started to see the Dwemer like a big metaphor for humanity's search for meaning through science. So when faced with something that is beyond their comprehension or interpretation through scientific means, they go ahead and try to interpret the info through that same limited lens anyway.
Vivec's egg could be a metaphor of the TRUTH, or everyhing that exists/its source, and meaning. It was mentioned somewhere that Vivec wanted to be everyhing all at once: all genders, races, species, etc.
This is just a possible interpretation. I went ahead and misinterpreted. ;)
this is hands down the best reading of these lessons, both actual reading and interpretation
Thank you King, you're a true scholar.
Are there going to be more of these? I really love them but I see that it’s been three months since this one. Hopefully you’ll keep going with them!
PLEASE MORE IM BEGGING AND SHAKING AND CRYING thanks for the video
Continue this series, please. I'm desperate
best lore and backstory of any fantasy. im glad i grew up with morrowind. slightly sucks that i couldnt experience daggerfall properly, but back then it was such jank i dont think i missed out.
I watched this the first time for the lore, clicked replay for the life lessons and philosophy. I bow in thanks.
3 down 34 to go. I’ve got the alarm bell on for this playlist
Highlight of the week! Either this or the fact I managed to order a ps5 today haha.
Bros sanity was so fucking destroyed he stopped making them
Alright now that we've hit 3, this finally feels real to me. Like...we're actually doing this, guys. Drew's _REALLY_ taking us on this spiritual journey.
I wouldn't want it any other way, and there's no other group of people I'd be more honored to share in the enlightenment of these sermons with than all of you, here in our budding lil community 🤜🤛😎
Edit: 19:08 lol the sass
You hate to see Drew give up because he realized you can't stretch out 20 minutes for every single lesson. Not enough resources
This was great. I lost track of all the interesting and creative concepts introduced.
These are very interesting philosophical things to talk about. Im learning so much. Cant wait for the other lessons
I love listening to you Drew. Thankyou so much.
Brilliantly written!!
Can't wait for the next video, i'm gonna subscribe for this series!
Drew please keep going with the lessons these videos are Godlike
I think Heimskr 's teaching is more my wavelength. AYE... LOVE! TALOS THE UNASSAILABLE.
8:44 : I first misheard as "toe nail magic"
Oh man, you only made it through 3? I see your sanity level here but you're doing so great! I've really enjoyed the last 3.
Have you checked out Rottendeadite's The New Whirling School? That might help. Some of your insights echo his, but some are really new and thoughtful. I would love to hear more on this series!
I'm loving this so much!
Done with my exam and now I can enjoy this
Looking forward to lesson 4! I have to watch each episode twice to fully understand and I’m still kind lost lol
I'd love to see this continued.
Love this series
Please finish this series
Brilliant video sir!
Outstanding work! When all the Lessons have been completed, might I dare to request you recite the poetic Edda for us? Lol I've never heard the full thing in its glory, and I'm sure you've got contacts somewhere in Oblivion with access to it's entirety.
i swear to almsivi this is the best series on youtube
Drew pls finish these videos my guy
More please!!!
It's important to keep in mind the context the 36 sermons are written in. I don't feel lines like 'we must go and misinterpret this' should be taken as things the dwemer literally said. This is a parable vivec is presenting to his people. He is showing that the dwemer ignore that which they cannot explain, and search for ways to logically interpret it rather than accepting it.
Yeah, I've always just taken that part as a snarky jab at the dwemer.
@@feyfolken1655 Out-of-universe it probably is.
In-universe it's probably more intended as tribunal propaganda, considering they stole their divinity from the heart of Lorkhan using methods devised by the dwemer, it'd make sense they wanna portray the dwemer to their people as 'unenlightened' and discourage people from learning too much about them.
@@zetsumi4160 exactly
Yes, love it. Thanks for continuing with this fantastic journey, I’m really enjoying it.
yah i definitely want more of this.
I love your content Drew, and honestly I'm learning so much about the Elder Scrolls Universe. I had no idea the Dunmer laid eggs... huh.... Maybe that's why they hate the Argonians so much. Different eggs.
Love the content drew, u were the best part of Muppet
Class is in session , thank you Drew
Thank you for the content you make Drew. I love watching your stuff and how in depth it goes. Most lore channels are not nearly this engaging. You have a special talent for this my man, I’m always eagerly awaiting your next video to drop, keep it up!
The Tribunal also took the idea of the living gods of Valenwood.
A Bosmer Nerevarine would realize this.
keep these coming. love to here you explore such a wonderful part of the lore
Epic !!!!
i love it, i hope that you didnt give up on this series cause its amazing💜
Been patiently waiting for this!👍
I downloaded the Books mod on Skyrim PS4 version, which adds all of the old books from the previous games not included in Skyrim, including The 36 Lessons of Vivec. Then, I lined my Tundra Homestead with his Lessons and adopted some children. Now my children are constantly found reading in front of that bookshelf and I have to imagine in my mind that these little girls are gonna achieve CHIM before they're teenagers at the rate they're reading 😂
I love you, Drew.
Edit: I've never gotten a heart comment from any content creator. Makes me feel all......warm and fuzzy 😁
Finally my DREW CANNEL
I wish I could like a video a million times..
Playing these again, because I need something saner than the real world. 💙
What is a milk finger

not mad at all that these vids are coming more frequently, not mad at all! keep churning out mindblowing content! I always enjoyed your vids the most on fudgemuppet, and am absolutely *stoked* to see you have your own channel now! great job!
Michael Kirkbride you doth set the bar high....
"Vivecs feelings didn't care about the dwarves facts"
Are you doing more of the sermons?
drew i just wanna say thank you for this series, im currently facing a broken computer for the second time in 3 months that'll take 2 weeks to fix whilst I'm hopelessly hyperfixated on TES, and this is literally keeping me going at the moment
Drew, formerly the most handsome member of fudgemuppet.
Gonna love watching this after I'm done with my exam
Dwemer, incapable of love/lacking understanding of love... trying to use a Heart to create their god. Irony?
A Redguard nerevarine would be interesting, I think he would join House Redoran because of the similar ideals they share with the Ansei. I think they would also kill Vivec, for everything Vivec stole from the Yokudans, put that in with all the lies Vivec has told about Yokuda and the Redguards. A Redguard Nerevarine would read the sermons and interpret it as Prince A'tor watching over him.
Great video!
I call bull, Vec!
Sermon 3 and you don’t sound like you’ve gone insane yet, congratulations man!
Personally, I think Vivek was hoofing on skooma when he wrote the 36 lessons.
I figured that the lessons of Vivec here were just really twisting the truth, and not hiding the real story behind subtext. He had to make it seem realistic and coalesce with what people knew had happened, while simply changing the parts that no one could dispute to consolidate his “divine inheritance”.
8:38 shoutout to the excellent @AllINAllmusic
Drew can you make a video about caius cosadas and how he is actually the emperor? he just grew hair over the seven years

45th go around of me repeating this video
Just an idea but could the sermons have been talk both about vivec and the heart of lorkhan
Another reminder that it is called the Universe for a reason.
Incredibly enjoyable
Vivec's fan fiction in 36 parts
the first sermon I had chimmed
the second sermon I had zero zummed in this sermon I am about to chim again... what is this cycle of chimming and zero summing?
Can you imagine the lore in tes 6? Going to be so dumbed down
Oh good you're still doing it :)
