Yuriko’s story just destroyed my heart. Yuriko was just as much of a family figure to Jin as was Lord Shimura. When Jin says “Jin is lucky you take such good care of him”, ugh, not again 😭
Feel good to done this before part 3
Supanat Supalaiwat same, I explored each island entirely and went to every interest locations/side mission first, saving the main missions for after and doing them in a row
YURIKO IS DEAD😭😭 AND I HAVENT FINISH THE STORY NOOOOOOOO😭😭😭
I LOVE YURIKO LIKE I LOVE MY GRANDMA😭😭😭
Yuriko story mannn.... Grandma love 😭 i cant cuz i raised by my grandma this scene hits me so hard 😭
Me: "crying because my horse died"
Game: here's a malnourished horse
why do i feel targeted >:(
I was pissed when they killed my horse especially after playing last of us 2 where they also kill my fucking horse
Horses are trained to die
LMAO it was not malnourished

When jin mentioned what he missed about his mom, it shook my core as I lost my own mother and long for her voice. Yuriko reminded me of my grandmother who passed two years prior to my mom who had Alzheimer’s. This game has brought out some feelings I haven’t felt in a while.
Nicholas Yuri/Yuriko is a common name in japan. It depends on the context and how it was written.
Sorry for your loss bro, hope yr holding up better
My condolences for your loss
My condolences. I hope you're doing well in life.
I just realized something. Jin kills Ryuzo, the same way he kills his Uncle(if you choose that ending). Despite Jin not being able to overlook his treachery, he still considered him a friend and gave him an honorable death.
It looks like Ryuzo are pleading for his life at the end though instead of going "please kill me for honor".
@@gabrielb.christmas6279 Maybe, I took it as "okay...", basically giving up.
Honorable death doesnt have to do with the style in which someone is killed. It has to do w them having honour before the death, fighting for a righteous cause, and dying for that righteous cause in a strong way, and then being remembered for that honourable life and death. Ryuzo was an outcasted traitor who was slain and will most likely be remembered by no one other than Jin.
Not an honourable death. Just death.
Senpuku moment but killed by jin...
I always laughed at Lady Masako and Sensei Ishikawa's interaction:
Masako: "Your own student, working for the enemies. Serve you right."
Ishikawa: "Don't start.."
Masako: "An old man taking up with a young woman, it's never going to end well."
Ishikawa: "I treated her like a daughter."
Masako: "For some women, one father is more than enough."
Ishikawa: *grunt*
LOL This one line made me think something unspoken had happened but it's never revealed. Leave it to the imagination 😏
she savage,
Makes it ironic she was the one cheating on Her husband with a younger maid
@@bloodlover1987 lol I thought she didn't cheat? I thought she said her and the young maid I forgot her name, only had feelings for one another that they never acted upon before Masako married lady adachi.
James II I thought Masako had a husband?
Each ending is a form of grief
Masako - anger
Ishkawa -depression
Yuna- Acceptance
Norio - denial
Kenji-bargaining
Norio was so wild
Masako's isn't really anger though. After the entirety of her family is gone she's simply left alone and uncertain of what to do next with herself.
@@theandice8152 I mean her entire journey was her killing people out of pure anger.the best example is when she chose to fight Jin to kill the monk.
I like this analysis! It sounds accurate. And then what was Jin/Shimura?
Maybe self-destruction. :(
@@TheNewFlutist Shimura - Pride
Jin - Desperation

What do you meant by pieces? It's the whole art

Khotun khan wasn't wrong, to this day we learn about the mongul empire
Kelvin Fahrenheit and Jin was correct
There are no Jin and no Khotun Khan, the 80 samurai are dead at the beach and the Mongol conquered Tsushima for a while before Kamikaze wiped them out, but yes, I knew this because of this game lmao study history with game is better than history class
But did you know the name khotun khan before this game

jin meeting tomoe in japan in 1281 when the mongols invade again would be cool to see if they make a sequel
Wait you mean this story and characters a real history?
If they did, they could make the new location in Iki where the second wave of the invasion started.
@@sallmmaan mongol invading and the ghost are real, but other character and khotun khan fictions, and the story little changed
@@Diseruyuk Historically, Tsushima really didnt matter. All of the relevant events (including the typhoon) happened on the mainland after both Tsushima and Iki were already conquered.
OneCalBacon Iki seems like too much of a small map. Probably mainland would be good or a portion of the mainland
If this game will not become the Game of the Year then I'll be very dissapointed...
This is a masterpiece...
Been playing it non stop... For me this game is the same caliber with RDR2...
Very well made and the story is very tragic... Jin do not deserved to be called a murderer...
Hoping that Sucker Punch will make at least a sequel to this game
we have to wait and see about cyberpunk 2077 i think it will be between the two games
If it's not GotY then being a nominee is good enough.
its too bad most of the side missions are short and not enough of them. RDR2's map and activities are much bigger than Tsushima. I just wish Ghost of Tsushima implement actual hunting mechanics like collecting pelts and crafting our gears. Also having a horse stable would be good too.I just finished the game 100% yesterday wanting more. I still want more things to do. So at this point I'm just free roaming around the island and picking fights with mongols and straw hats.
@@steven310250 not every game is perfect but it can be a masterpiece.
great game but the year hasn't ended and we still have cyberpunk coming. This game is great cause has great story matching great graphics, and the gameplay is good but easy for any type of gamer. So every kind of gamer will like it.
Anyone who knows someone with Alzheimer's/Dementia could relate to Yuriko's story. My heart broke when Jin answered to his father's name.
Same nearly as sad as the ending
As a person who had a grandmother with alzheimers that shit hit me right in the heart cause it was exactly how my grandmother was in the end
Masako story hurt me the most especially when they showed her sons... that shit was a tear jerker
masakos also made me the most angry do to her anger. yes girl i understand, fuck them, but stop killing them when were interrogating them. your making everything harder
Kevin d yooo facts!!! That too was pissing me off
I thought her story was pretty funny in a tragic way. She created the enemies that destroyed her family. In a way, she destroyed herself.
@@Sariot666 as the sanate once said "Ironic"
@@kevind3974 even worse is that she cheated on her husband with the maid. Really? Living with honor my ass. I hated her since that.
four things made me sad :
1- how a great warrior like him took all the responsibility for saving his people and then be considered a murderer and a monster even though we all know that war is never fair and that was proven by the first seen when the khan burned the samurai and yet the shogun wants a head ?? where was he in this war !!
2- the way taka was murdered !! it was sad !!
3 what happened to lady Masako and the sadness through her story
4- there was no love story/confession between Jin and Yuna
overall !! the game was a rollercoaster of emotions !1
Doesn’t always have to be a love story
@@therockdwarfmockdwarf1476 i know man but look at thier journey !! It says in all ways the are meant for each other especially after taka's death
i guess in the end theres a hint that yuna likes jin and jin likes her back? i dont really understand about the part where yuna said the ghost belongs to everyone though.
@@edgrdfw I think she means everyone as a urban legend/protector. Like Batman/Bruce Wayne in a sense, Jin Sakai for Yuna and "The Ghost" for everyone/Tsushima?
nah the main point is that jin will live alone for the rest of his life with no family. That's why yuna don't have love story. I don't know if they will but I think they mgiht release another game in this world on the ps5
Yo Norio's ending is downright sad. And dark. Such a dramatic turn 😢
My first played that last chapter I was like “ what the hell did you do?”
I'll never get tired of how supportive Yuna is of Jin and his actions. Just when you think he's losing his purpose or motivation for being the ghost Yuna reassures him that it's the right thing. She's like his pillar, riding and dying with him. Find someone like Yuna.
That Yuriko tale man... so damn sad
I'm Japanese I love this game.
I think the sequel would be interesting to cross to the mainland with Yuna and fight SHOGUN.
Personally, I'd like to see Lone Wolf and Cub and Zatoichi made into a game.If it's a ninja game, I'd like Sony Chiba's Kage no Gundan to be made into a game.
How do you think of a game leading into the Sengoku Jidai period? Say, someone learned from the Ghost and invented the shinobi techniques as we know them, and clans started to use them to scout, dispute power and etc as the onin war (the succession crisis before sengoku, i don't know the name exactly) comes closer.
Lots of ninja, drama, espionage and political intrigue... duuude, this would be so good
fight the shogun?
The next game should be about the second Mongol invasion of Japan, and then just end the series there, whether Jin dies or not by the end of the sequel
It should be about him becoming the first ninja, and maybe teaching others his fighting style
jin aint ninja he is a ghost
Yurikos story was so short but it brought more emotion to me than any other
When you chose to kill Lord Shimura, that scene made me cry.
It would have been the good ending tho. I am not saying that it was right but dying with honor was 1000% better then living with broken honor for a samurai.
@@adambalogh8728 truly indeed its like saying to a broken suicidal person dont suicide you have a lot of things to do in life but in fact they already lost sense of life.
If you wouldnt kill him, I'm sure He'd go for Seppuku, an Tradition suicide for Samurai with Broken honor.
@@ItzRyuki the Shogun would have made sure he died. When you sneaking in to leave a message for your uncle you can hear the son of the Shogun the leader of the other Samurai reinforcements you hear them talk about how the father have been planning to take over the the island of tsushima.

Facts
@Ευαγγελος Ζερβας ok....
Wait I'm confused: the graphics, the story, the characters, the blade work, the art styles, or the history
I do believe the characters represent parts of Jin's inner conflict and development as The Ghost.
Masako and Norio: Losing control of your emotions as a warrior/samurai
Yuna: The side of Tsushima Jin was never exposed to, doing anything to survive and keep those you care about safe.
Ishikawa: The samurai aren't perfect, every person no matter their code or story, has flaws.
Kenji: Teaching others to do better.
Taka: Teaching others to be brave.
Shimura: Rules and Honour won't save everyone.
Yuriko: Never forget your roots.
Ryuzo: There's always another way.
Khotun: No matter how brutal the enemy, there is a way to beat them.
Going through this game story I just have to ask one thing. How in the name of all things good did this lose to Last of Us 2 in the game awards? It had everything the story was freaking amazing, the gameplay was incredible. The art style was breathtaking. Just those two things alone should have wiped out Abbi and her gay best friend
Money and politics
story is trash yall are crazy... i like both games but GOT not good for the story but for the gameplay and the environment story not that deep.. not one death in this game touch me in any way.. i like some secondary missions and fights but Last of us 2 is better in every way and i like both games

Yuriko's death made me cry. My mom is a bit older, and I really connected with her death. I think it reminded me about what will happen eventually in my own circumstance. It kinda felt like I watched my own mom die in a way, it was hard.
This games is a masterpiece, idec how lame I may seem lol
That’s one of the main things I hate about growing up. As I get older, so do my parents. One day they won’t be here anymore. My parents weren’t perfect but I’m grateful for them and value them more than anything in this world.
just spend the most amount of time you can with them
Yuriko's death had me in tears man
A few years ago I wrote and created a character named Altan (it means Red Dawn in Turkish)
In Mongolian it means golden, but it’s cool to see another character with this name.
Are you Turkish ? Muslim ?
Yuriko’s death is the saddest one imo. She really loved Jin as if he was her own son and was really grateful towards his father for their friendship. I’m glad Jin comforted her in her last moments.
This game is how assassins creed should be. Is that too much to ask for? The combat is good and boss fights. If the new AC still the same as the last two that came out before it then I’m not getting the game plain n simple
The only way to make ubisoft change their games for good is to bring them down and build them up again. (Don't buy their games, pirate them if you're so desperate and don't give them any attention until they reach the bottom, the bottom is where you will be waiting for them).
If Ubisoft perishes then another company will arise (and buy Ubisoft's IPs so it's all good) and will revive all the games that were lost in due time.

Tomoe was a beauty and she liked Jin, I was hoping she would stay and become his love interest, I felt from the beginning that Yuna would be friendzoned.
Honestly, I think the fact Jin never develops a love interest in the game works as its strength, Jin is so obsessed with saving his people that he has no time for personal attachments.

The good thing about this game is, it doesnt give you the satisfaction of plain happy endings like cheap storytales.
This game tells about how horrifying a war really is and despite all the losses you suffer, the respect you deserved but never get, things you have to sacrifice,
and at the end of the day you still have to clench your teeth and move on, the invaders will never care about how you feel.
Gotta be honest... Yuriko's death is the saddest.
Damn never would have thought when I played this game it made me emotionally and cry at almost every tragic event 💔
Sakai Jin is a good, honourable man. Exactly the one who the gaming community needed after the horrible people we got in TLoU2
True words
At least Yuriko got to die in peace. The proud do not endure.
Tbf, Yuriko's death hits the hardest for me. She reminds of my grandmother. I wish i spent more time with her when i was a kid. This quarantine making me miss her(She is still alive if u guys wonder)
I really liked Kenji. He was probably my favorite character in the game. It's just sad he never really got the redemption arc/proving himself worhty storyline that he deserved :(
Eh, hopefully he continues to help Jin at least

Now this is what we call a great plot and great character development, unlike THAT one certain game.

Love this game but its story is incredibly basic. We shouldn’t hate on games for trying unorthodox forms of story telling. Otherwise how will we progress?
@@porphyrogenita_ tlou2 is boring,Ghost not.Here's the difference.
Who cares if the story is "basic" if is well written and emotional, not every story has to be forcibly complex...emotionally speaking tlou2 story leave me nothing frankly, the first game was way better imo.
And anyway the type of narration of tlou2 has already been seen elsewhere and done better too...it's nothing special.Progress my ass.Nothing is original and unique in these days about art,the most important thing is the quality.
The moment Jin learns the ghost stance is when I believe he truly embraces the darkness and abandons the samurai code.
he could have not killed ryuzo like that, damn.
With honor
Ryuzo crossed the line and fucked up lol
George Panagiotou i mean did he though? i think its kinda justified, theres no proof lord shimura would keep his word, yuna helped break him free and he still doesn’t exactly gave her the pass to mainland until she helped take back the castle, ryuzo was just playing it smart because he had a lot of family members to protect, but i do agree that he kinda crossed the line a bit, still though.
trust Is hard to earn, after he betrayed him like that
@@edgrdfw he fucked up big way. there's no proof khan would keep his word either. if he doesn't trust lord shimura he should just stay neutral instead of being a traitor.

Damn, English Jin sounds so kind and polite but will step up ferocity when needed.
JP Jin sounds a lot more stern and strict yet compassionate with a lot more air of nobility.
I just beat the game, but still have side missions and mongols bases to clear off island. One question tho, where can I find yuna after our last conversation before the credits?? Is she around the island somewhere where I can speak to her again or is that it we will never see her again
I cleared everything cuz i wondered if there was one last interaction with yuna, but no there isnt and shes not at jogaku, you cant find sensei ishikawa and lady masako to, you'll find norio walking around cedar temple but you cant interact with him. @@falafelbil455 seems like they move to mainland. Tsushima is so in silence after all said and done.... Perfect for a sequel.
Yurikos death almost made me burst into tears 😢
There was so much emotion put in this game, I had to put my controller down and reflect and ponder on the scenes of the game, plus a personal crying moment
Lady Masako: let us sneak in the enemy territory
Also Lady Masako: DIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!! *runs in the open waving her katana*
I can fix her
Couldn't help but laugh when the general said "you do not have the courage to do it" but then I kinda screamed inside when Norio roasted him alive, yelled at him to burn for his crimes and straight up admitted he enjoyed the general's screams of agony
I’m so glad they took their time making this. The music for Lord Shimura and the power in Jins voice (Even though the sub is better with Japanese speech) when he yells in anguish at the events that transpired in front of his fathers tomb. The murder of his brother or his son. Honestly soo beautiful and an absolute amazing setting. This game is an absolute masterpiece.
Yurikos death hit harder than Lord Shimuras death, at least to me
Plot twist yuriko fell asleep and Jin buried her alive.
We're missing our horse's end cut scene.
At first i thought it sucked that they made the cutscenes unskippable...
...Fast forward 35-40 hours into my playthrough and I'm balling my eyes out at Yurikos tale.
Yuriko's ending is probably the saddest, yet the most interesting of the side tales. It's obvious she has dementia and this is the end, but there's also a more.. subliminal message to it. Jin has become so much like his father that the line between them has thinned so much, it's become unrecognizable.
The game makes me question, did I appreciate my friends and family enough?
Horse's ending is missing when he dies and act 3 begans
I’m so late to this game. I just finished it today and Taka’s story was the 2nd most shocker for me. The first one was Jin’s horse. It should have been here :’(
One question how do you find some of these endings are they from the side missions?
Some side some main missions
THIS WHOLE GAME WAS LIKE A BEAUTIFUL SUSPENSEFUL MOVIE SIDE NOTE THOSE YURIKO SCENES THO😭
how you not put kage death or whatever you guy named your horse that was one of the saddest moments
12:28 casually walks by the burning people that are dying
Jesus Christ, how many ads are in this video man?
This game is just so fucking good. Though I do wish their were alternate endings. Like if you don’t stealth kill and shit, you get full honor ending or something
I feel a moral duty to complete both of yurikos story’s before you become the ghost so she doesn’t see what you become, because you promised her that you wouldn’t change. I complete it in the Sakai armour so you look like his father, kazumasa
Tomoe gave the bow to the enemy.
Jin gave poison to the enemy.
The enemy gave terror and fear in return and was beaten by its own weapons.
I hope they have expansive DLCs like the Witcher 3 did. And i seriously hope there is some ninja armor in it.
I’ve never seen anything to do with this game and I just recently finished it and when my horse died after getting away from the shogun I was absolutely devastated I had to legit pause and grieve
I feel like I'm missing something with the tomoe story. Wasnt she a traitor? Why was she just let off the hook?
Whether you believe her or not, her case was she was held against her will and that she killed her own people to end their suffering since they were being tortured by the Mongols. That, and the fact that not once she has shot you gave credit to her case. It was just barely enough for her sensei to let her go
They forced her to work for them. And she did just to survive. She tried to mitigate the damage the Mongol did when she was the archer's leader but eventually the Mongol didn't need her anymore, and they intend to kill her. She fled to Jin and Ishikawa to fight back, which she succeeded. The rest you can see in the video
@@Valscer This right here. If she ever attempted to shoot the MC, I'd think letting her off would be stupid. But seeing how she never was aggressive towards the player, I tend to believe what she was saying.
When i see the corpse as a practice target and ishikawa said its tomoe doing... I think she shot em dead so they wont suffer chocking she insta kill em while mongols probably torture em....
Damn when khun teared taka's head, the asmr noise i got chills
I couldn't help but laugh at Masako's story. I don't wanna victim blame or anything but she created all the enemies that brought her house down. It was a fun little irony imo
Yuriko, Takka, Sora ❤️❤️❤️
I couldn't finish Norio's time line the very last mission has a glitch spot that shoots me across the map every time I ride out with Norio for this last mission.

Forgot the most important one: THE HORSE
The kill ending was so heavy. Game was better with Japanese audio. Just sounds off in English
@Leon Kennedy i went with the english voices because the lips did not match up with what they where saying and it really annoyed me
English was fine to me but I’ll play with Japanese next time
If you choose L2. Jin actually hugged his uncle just before the screen fades away.
Excellent compilation. Thank you for putting this together and sharing. New subscriber here just for the hard work put into it. Great job.
This game is so perfect in every aspects, I don't want them to make a sequel.
I get the fact that the game is called *GHOST OF TSHUSHIMA* but I would love it even more if there was more of a choice of how you play the story so you dont have to become the ghost if you dont want to and just wanna play as an honorable samurai. It would have worked in the same way that you can occasionally choose what sentence you say but instead it depends on how you kill people and and act throughout the game, somewhat being like fallout where your actions can have multiple reactions. It does feel like that's what sucker punch studios was aiming for with the different speech selections but as it is such a big game already they left it there.
Other than that I love the game
I think it would have been a really nice way to introduce an alternate ending of if you choose to remain honorable as a Samurai that you would lose again to the Khan; it would really distinguish how needed it was to resort to the Ghost as a way to win.
@@Dabitron3000 that would be a good ending or maybe instead of dying yuna sneaks up behind him and kills him saving you. But being honourable 90% of the game should lead to not having to fight your uncle at the very end.
I literally only used ghost weapons to protect hostages when taking settlements. I didn’t embrace the Ghost till act 3. Perhaps not all games are made the same. Perhaps Sucker Punch just wanted to tell it’s own story. We may see ourself as Jin Sakai but he is his own character at the end of the day
I really tried to renounce the Ghost until Act III when I knew that’s what sucker punch was wanting us to do. I wish there was an honor system like rdr2 with different endings though, but even without it, this is one of the best games I’ve ever played
Dabitron3000 Yeah honor/dishonor ending would have been interesting.
“Honor”: Jin renounces the ghost and remains an honorable samurai, failing to take down the khan and dying honorably to the war.
“Dishonorable”: (Basically the canon ending) Jin embraces the ghost and kills the khan, living on as a “ghost” or shell of who he really was.
Although obviously honor can be depicted differently by perspective (Jin and Lord Shimura)
1:53. So that's why he's called the Ghost
Need a DLC wish they gave him a lovely girlfriend or something
Bruh one thing i would want to change is making sure the game stays true to what it promises me! Why are samurai NOT HUNTING FOR ME IM BORED KILLING MONGOLS AND I WANT MY PAY BACK FROM THEM KILLING MY NOBU
I am a really big fan of how Kenji was written. He was like the light in the dark tone of the game. For me the game won't be as impactful if he's not there. And definitely not an out-of-place comic relief. :-)
