    Interesting - however i'm more interested in how long some of these tasks take, nobody ever posts how many mins/hours etc they take. Also not recommended to run at 100% power so that will slow things down as well - considering this or a K40 style c02, just cant work out what is best.

    Hey Andrew, was wondering if the taper on the glass and tumbler makes things difficult? Would setting the glass in a roll of duct tape or something similar keep the distance from the laser more even? This is quickly becoming my favorite channel… good luck with ur projects

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 роки тому

      You can actually cut a wooden ring with the laser the same outer diameter as the large end of the glass or tumbler. Then slip it on the smaller end to make things even. Or you can use the adjustable height mechanism that come extra with the rotary.

I've been struggling using cold galvanizing compound with the consistency I want SOOO I went out and bought an airbrush kit with all of the accessories. I've spent the better part of the last 4 days engraving glass. Ran lots of tests etc etc and just not getting that perfect setting. I've been watching videos here and there and most of them are the xTool. That's a tough one..... They both are going to have similar capabilities. The Ortur has the built in air assist head and nozzle, that's extra for the Xtool. The xtool has adjustable feet and their rotary is second to none. The Ortur has multiple safety features if that's important to you. The xtool has more add ons and, accessories. I hope that helps you make your decision. They are both huge steps up from previous 5 watt open platform lasers. I like the direction both companies are driving their products.

    Ok, I am getting really discouraged with this laser. I ran a project on .13" oak ply at 300 mm/m and three passes at 90%. It took over an hour and a half and didn't come close to cutting through. Any ideas? Will this machine actually cut?

    • @TKCL

      Are you using air assist? That makes a significant difference in my experience. Air assist should always be used for cutting. Are you making for sure to properly space your laser head above the work piece? I own a Xtool d1 10watt and this laser, I can attest that the laser Master 3 cuts better than the Xtool.

    Andrew, I was wondering if you have a basic design for your laser machine and you have a thick piece of wood like you had today, would you be able to flip the piece of wood over and finish the cut from the back side. Kind of like if you were drilling something and you don't want to blow out the other side so you drill a little then move to the other side. If your computer program will allow you to rotate your design you might be able to do more complex tasks if you can burn from both side? I don't have a laser burner so I am putting it out there if you want to see if you can. Thanks God bless

    There are three omicron variants going through the US, one of those escapes the immunity, given by all previous variants, So catching covid more than once is entirely possible. For those in vulnerable groups that debate vaccination, research so far shows that vaccination still reduces the risk of severe illness and complications even when it is not as effective to prevent infection. People that don't want to vaccinate, that is fine too, for most healthy people, the current variants pose a very limited risk (comparable to normal flu)

    Just curious if etching glass you could put blue tape on the glass instead of the paint

      I seen another channel try that with poor results.

      @@TKCL Hi, Why is necesary the black paint on the glass? always is necesary black paint to engrave blass? Thanks.

      You must have something for a "blue diode" laster light to interact with. Black paint is a perfect substitute for the light to hit. Clear glass allows the light to pass right through.

      @@TKCL And in addition to applying the black paint to the glass to be laser engraved, is it also necessary for a transparent Acrylic or Methacrylate panel?
      Thank you very much for your response. 🙌🙏

      You can etch semi transparent acrylics, very hard to cut though. Solid color acrylics can be easily cut out.

    I've also seen where they engrave on ceramic back-splash tiles and put cork or felt on the bottom for coasters

      Yep I'm already considering the ceramic tiles.
