- In this episode of 'Editorial', Mr. Sujit Nair discusses the Supreme Court's recent action towards the State Bank of India (SBI) regarding the disclosure of Unique Serial Numbers on electoral bonds. The Supreme Court of India has reprimanded the SBI for failing to share the unique serial numbers assigned to electoral bonds, the data of which was recently made public.
A five-judge Constitution bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra expressed dissatisfaction with the SBI's compliance with its previous order issued on March 11, directing the bank to disclose all information related to Electoral Bonds.
The apex court observed that the SBI did not reveal the distinctive alphanumeric numbers associated with each electoral bond. Consequently, it issued a notice to the SBI, demanding a response by March 18. The Supreme Court reiterated that its earlier judgment by a five-judge Constitution bench mandated the disclosure of all electoral bond details, including the purchase date, purchaser's name, and the bond denomination.

These can be easily matched by putting unique nos details on purchaser and redeemer lists sides individually and pasting on Excel Sheets with required filters applications.

All this had been possible due to an amendment in sec. 182 of the Companies Act whereby the earlier cap on maximum donation up to 7.5% of profits was removed and thus it opened the doors for purely loss making or shell companies to purchase electoral bonds without any limit.

In democracy , parties should be limited with Maximum Capital limit otherwise parties will become corporates . This is proved with electoral bonds. (DEMO)(CRACY)!

Why a CBI and ED enquiry will not be initiated against Megha Engineering who purchased bond of >900 crore withing few months of being awarded with govt contact of 12000 crore.

Ambani and Adani based companies are not listed in the pdf. Likely the Gaming guy is a front for one or both. Likely some other donors too may be bogus, shell, front or holding companies. In any case, the KYCs are there for each and every single bond so the who and which subcompany info can come out, especially if SC orders SBI. Of course, the fact that the two big A's are not listed might also hint at their extreme skill at under the table transfers in other ways.

It looks like that some companies are raided utilizing the the services of Constitutional bodies like: IT, CBI, Ed, etc. Without an unexpressed intention of getting money in return in the form of Electoral Bonds from which the biggest beneficiary is the ruling BJP Psrty. To give sanctitity of non-corruption, the ruling party might have allowed the Electoral Bonds benefit all the other parties, including the Opposition Parties, and Regional Parties. As it is ultimately a question of money, which could as well be Black Money, all political parties got the benefit, little or much. Obviously in this complicated network of transaction of which the main platform was SBI. Now, the political parties, which benefitted much or little remain securely in the background, while SBI has become a scape-goat.
