    I wish I'd seen these years ago, I never got over my fear of giants before I quit gymnastics and I'm sure some of these drills would have helped

      Same, our coach would just force us do new skills without even teaching us the techniques first. And if we were too scared to try she would just srceam and shame us. Many got injured and were forced to quit. I quit because I felt traumatized by the way our coach treated us. I still have nightmares about it till this day.

    I'm way to scared to do Giants on strap bar because 1) I'm scared I'll slip out. 2) There's stairs and hard stuff surrounding it. It's just scary. Meet season is 1 month away and a mock meet is in 2 weeks and I'm stressing about my giant. My coach spots me on baby giant miss my hips on high bar. I'm never going to make my giant before meet season :(

    • @graces4450
      @graces4450 7 років тому +3

      You can do it! Have you tried to do giants with two people spotting on the regular bar? In my own personal experience that helped me with my timing and overall confidence with the skill. Good luck!

    • @bellamy222rose
      @bellamy222rose 7 років тому +3

      +Gymnasticslover437 yes, in the past two coaches spotted me. Now only one coach boosts me up. (Bc I improve more) tomorrow my moms taking me to an open gym that has a foam pit underneath bars. I'd feel more comfortable with that and I'm going to try to do my straight arm giant 😊 thank you!

    What level does this start at?

    • @sterlinggymmeets7496
      @sterlinggymmeets7496 6 років тому

      You should be starting the first progressions around Level 4. It really depends on the ability of the athlete. If they can't stay tight or do any of the basic shaping, then they aren't ready. I've already started most of these drills with one of my Level 3s just because she's ready. But my 4s aren't, and only 1 of my 5s is!!

    • @4iq865
      @4iq865 5 років тому

      U should know giants by level 6 and have consistent giants at level 7

    The progressions are great. But the giants final it's not a good technique.
