@@donnanelson5907 love to hear this!!! And at 65 - wow!! That’s so inspirational. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and subscribing, means a lot❤️
Very Inspiring!! Thank you!!! I'm 70 (but still feel and can move like I'm 35), Vegan for about 40 years; fully raw and live vegan foodist now for 18 of those 40 years. I have no one around me who does this. My dear husband who I adored and shared in this lifestyle passed away from a horrible brain injury. Shortly after I broke my left hand and wrist requiring many surgeries. It never worked right again. I train twice weekly with a martial artist. He wants me to do more but I cannot, yet. Grief and loss does terrible things to a person when they truly care, and no one around me takes care of themselves like I and my husband did. Sometimes I want to give up but I cannot. I was so glad to find you this morning!! Maybe you can motivate me to keep going. I watch everyone else drinking, drugging, eating badly and generally trashing themselves. . . Not Helpful!
Oh wow!!! To have lived this vegan lifestyle for 40 years is extremely commendable and inspiring. I am so very sorry to read about your husband's passing, my sincerest condolences to you and your loved ones❣ And for you to still be training through your injury is also very commendable which shows true resilience and shows inner strength which I admire. It's so important that you do not give up and you continue on your healthy journey/path and I for one and rooting for you. I've witnessed many people suffering with their health due to poor habits and I see the difference in those that choose to priorotise their health, the difference is incredible - the work you are putting in is so very well worth it and I wish you all the very best on this path that you are on and I want to encourage you to please don't ever give up, keep going and I'm sure your comment will be read by others whom will be motivated and inspired by your story. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I truly appreciate it❣
So inspiring! I am only 22 and trying to figure it all out because the way I was raised on chicken and white rice wasn't doing me any favors. I hope to one day be able to squat as much as you and run with that form. I love when women post that they are caring for their body in the highest order !!

So great that you're putting health above age! I'm 49 and my blood pressure, blood test results, and other check ups are healthy. Thankfully, I never had cancer, heart attack, diabetes, or chronic health problems. It's disturbing when people pathologize aging and act like age matters more than all other health factors. Unfortunately, I sensed some of this in the health care field. Even if well-intended, I find it ageist- which is unhealthy.
@@veganvixen6930 I absolutely love your comment! And glad to hear you are well☺️🙌🏾 Age really is just a number and if we prioritise our health during every stage of our lives we can be fit , strong and healthy at all ages. Just because we age doesn’t mean we have to be sick, we can move with intention and normalise looking after our health regardless of our age. Sometimes people will have to take baby steps in order to improve their health as they age, but I always say - something is better than nothing. We can all start somewhere. I like green juices, so I usually do apple, beet, carrot, and sometimes pineapple... plus lime, parsley and/or cilantro, ginger, turneric, celery, then either chard or spinach. My kids like juice in the morning, so we make either passion fruit w/ a bit of mango, or straight tangerine juice, sometimes watermelon. When I was on my juice cleanse, my favorite was orange/tangerine and pineapple plus ginger!

I needed this. I’ve been vegetarian for 21 years, try my best to be vegan, and feel called to be high raw. A couple of weeks ago I paid WAY too much money for a training program that definitely promotes animal proteins. I tried to eat them thinking , at 50, that I might “have to” to get stronger, lose weight, and feel better. NO WAY! I am so inflamed and sore. I feel awful. Back to doing my best to go/stay high raw. This is inspiring. These trainers are constantly talking about how I need to eat animal protein or I won’t gain muscle. You are inspiring

This is such a wonderful video! I also love the dietary pattern of relying mostly on liquid nutrition throughout the morning and then opting for a hot meal of vegetables, rice, and legumes for dinner. That's very doable for busy people. I'm curious though, as someone who is currently challenging everything I thought I knew about nutrition, do you pay any attention to certain nutrients that might be difficult to obtain eating this way like calcium? Thanks in advance! I'm loving the content.
Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment - I really appreciate it. And yes, I do pay close attention to nutrients because I find if I am feeling sluggish or not quite right, that's always a sign that my body is lacking in some type of nutrient. I get a lot of my calcium and other nutrients from eating a lot of leafy green veggies which I have daily and sometimes have them raw for an extra boost, but the best food I have in my arsenal is sea moss gel which contains 92 nutrients. Whenever I have this which is usually daily I feel amazing. I also tend to get nutrients from the herbal teas I drink as well such as matcha tea and soursop tea which are also packed with nutrients. Me eating a balanced diet and drinking herbal teas every single day is what enables me to get all of my nutrients. Hope this helps and again I appreciate your comment😊x
@@MindfullyRooted It's very helpful! I love the idea of getting all of my calcium from leafy greens like spinach and kale, but it seems like I'd have to eat a ton of it to actually hit the recommended values. It makes me wonder how legitimate the current calcium guidelines are. Very cool that you incorporate sea moss into your diet. I love that! Same with the teas. Keep making great content!
@@andrewwhite4111 EXACTLEY what I think - about wondering how legitimate the calcium (and other nutrients) guidelines are. You've just sparked a thought in my mind - maybe they put out these ridiculous guideline numbers to make people think they need to drink more cows milk in order to reach their so called 'recommended daily amount'. Very interesting, I may have to do a video on this now that you've sparked the thought in my mind - let me go do some research lol. Glad to hear your incorporate teas and sea moss into your diet also!!! Thanx again for commenting, your comment was a very interesting read🙂
@@MindfullyRooted I had the exact same thought and I've been doing my own research on it! It would be amazing if you made a video about it. I will give you a few tips to get you started: Check out Dr. Walter Willett from Harvard. He's spoken openly about his skepticism of the calcium guidelines. It's also worth noting that not all countries in the world agree on the recommendations. Some areas are 700 mg per day while others are 1,000 mg above. And some studies even show that increased calcium consumption leads to more hip fractures. It's all very interesting.

I would advise to incorporate legumes into this diet as they are packed with protein. So foods such as lentils and chickpeas. I would also incorporate nuts and seeds in as well which will give you protein so that you can sustain your energy levels. It may take a moment for your body to get used to the transition. For me, once I settled into this way of eating, I noticed an immense amount of energy, mental clarity, some weight loss, clearer skin and I just feel healthier overall. Hope this helps x

I eat similar to you. What do you say to people who tell you there's too much sugar in fruit? I get it all the time and sometimes don't even know how to respond. You're very inspiring btw hope you make more content like this.
This comment made me chuckle but like you, I get asked this question alllll the time by so many people lol. I explain to them that processed sugar is not a food, its a chemical and when ingested our body does not see this chemical as a food and so stores it as fat. When we eat real sugar from fruits our bodies recognise these sugars as food and uses the nutrients within those foods accordingly to help and assist with the functioning of our bodies so there is a significant difference between the two. One is food, the other is not. I also explain that the proof is in the pudding, I eat bucket loads of fruit a day but I don't put weight on from eating those sugars, so yeah lol Thank you so much for watching and commenting and yes, I am currently in the process of recording more videos like this - lots more to come in the upcoming weeks and months. Oh wow, no fruits? I don't think I could handle the taste of just the veggies lol. I'm going to start incorporating more veggies into my juices thanx to your comment. I'll give the celery, fennel and kale a try first I think. Thank you so much for watching and commenting❤
@@MindfullyRooted my pleasure! I assure you that if you put sweet veggies it’s gonna be sweet enough! Tastebuds will adapt.. but of course you can add some apples or pineapple to it. What matters are the greens as they have loooooooooots of protein and less sugar. Roots have more sugar and less protein. Plants store the protein in their leaves and then in the seeds.

I am so very sorry to hear this, firstly - wishing you a speedy recovery and I pray you recover back to full health💞 I would highly recommend, if you are going to continue to eat meat, please try to restrict the amount that you have with each meal and perhaps increase the amount of leafy green vegetables - raw if possible or cooked only for a couple of minutes so you are able to get as many nutrients out of the veggies as possible. Please continue to juice and going to the gym but the main recommendation would be to increase whole foods, and incorporate herbal teas such as moringa and soursop if you are able to get your hands on it. Hopefully this helps and wishing you all the very best❣

I am so very sorry to read about your husband's passing, my sincerest condolences to you and your loved ones❣
And for you to still be training through your injury is also very commendable which shows true resilience and shows inner strength which I admire. It's so important that you do not give up and you continue on your healthy journey/path and I for one and rooting for you.

And glad to hear you are well☺️🙌🏾
Age really is just a number and if we prioritise our health during every stage of our lives we can be fit , strong and healthy at all ages. Just because we age doesn’t mean we have to be sick, we can move with intention and normalise looking after our health regardless of our age.
Sometimes people will have to take baby steps in order to improve their health as they age, but I always say - something is better than nothing. We can all start somewhere.

Can you tell which brand of sea moss you use and how to use it please 😘 excellent video
I get an unbranded one from a local store, however I am currently looking and researching into finding multiple branded ones to try out and when I find a good one I shall do a tutorial on how I make it and provide my recommendations.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help at this time but I'm working on it😉

Love you ❤can I get some more food video, please and thanks 🙏 🎉
Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment - and yes, I'm currently working on filming lots of food videos to show how I eat on a high raw, plant based diet. Hopefully they'll be helpful❣xx
The best way to stay healthy is to maintain a balanced diet, engage in regular physical activity, manage stress, and get sufficient sleep while staying hydrated and avoiding harmful habits like smoking and alcohol.

what are you think? this diet good for diabetes or who has problem with pancreas?thanks
Hi there, I would HIGHLY recommend you check out Dr Bobby Price here on UA-cam. He has so much information and detailed videos relating to diet as it pertains to diabetes. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for watching x
What’s the name of the empty teabags ❤ that you use for your looseleaf tea? I need that in my life. 😮
lol, I purchased them from Amazon from a store called PPpanda. Or you can search for paper tea filter disposable bags. Personally, I wouldn't recommend these particular ones because I later found out there are some unbleached bags which are better to use as they're natural. If you can, search Amazon for unbleached disposable drawstring tea bags - they're a lot better. Hope this helps and thank you for watching and commenting❣
Very inspirational!

You are a picture of health!! What's the name of your juicer, please?
Thank you so much😊and the name of the juicer is Amzchef from Amazon. It was £200 and is pretty good at juicing. Not the best build quality but does the job - hope this helps.

What's the name of your juicer ? thanks for the info
Many thanks for watching, the juicer is called Amzchef, I purchased it from Amazon for £200. Does a great job.
How long do you fast? How much protein do you get in a day? I’m wanting to switch to a plant based lifestyle.
I fast daily for around 20 hours. I started with 16 hours daily but after practicing this for 6 years now, I find 20 hours to be perfect for me.
I don't count my protein intake, I find that by eating a balanced meal that contains all my nutrients - seems to work for me personally.
I'll be filming a detailed video on this soon. Hopefully it helps with transitioning over to plant based and making sure you get the adequate amount of nutrients to include protein.
Whishing you all the very best on your journey and thanx again for watching and commenting❣

I am hoping you will do more videos on juicing and your eating meals and workout. My nails are chopped down to nothing, have to work. I am in my fifties and need to get where you are, help others with that journey, please. We don't do oats, heard to much bad about them, overly processed and stops minerals from entering the body. We stay away from all processed oils, clogs arteries and is worse than meat. A true plant based person, eats what grows on a plant, vine or under the ground.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I am currently in the process of making videos showing the meals I eat, the recipes and the benefits of the ingredients. I hope they'll help. Thanx again and wishing you all the very best on your continued health journey x
Amen on that u are looking great go u are working out like a teenager. Wow🙏

Yummy, Yummy. Very nice and very good for you, but I would check out the history of cashews and see for yourself if you want to continue to eat them as they are very toxic. ❤😊❤❤❤ ❤
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Thanx also for bringing to my attention about cashews. I shall look into this and do some research. Thanx again💕❣
Dear Mindfully rooted
You are of course a seasoned trainer but can you guide those of us who have just started out. What sort of training should we start with. Im 60 years old and feel it in my ches and pains😢
This is such a great question!! I'm going to do a detailed video on this very soon as I helped my mother who is in her 60's get back to great health. There is a lot to unpack with this so I think a detailed video would be a great idea on this topic. Thank you for bringing this up.
However, firstly please be sure to seek advice from your doctor in the first instance for any medical checks if you are experiencing chest pains.
Wishing you the best on your health journey and please be sure to tune in when I post a video geared towards helping women in their 60's.
Thank you for watching and commenting💞

@@miki3146 No, I never cook with oils - video on this coming soon😘
What do you do with the pulp please?
Such a good question!! I feed my soil in the garden with it. I find that doing this helps my veggies to grow really well and they taste super delicous because of all of the nutrients within my soil that came from the pulp and other veggie waste🙂
Link for the tea blends ?
@@gabbj89 I purchased all of my teas/herbs from a market in Brixton, London hun. But I am currently in the process of making & editing a complete video on all of my herbs and teas with lots of info, just currently testing more herbs from Amazon to include in that video.
The organic nettle tea shown in this video can be purchased from Amazon though.

Im 45, i want to try eat only fruits and veggies but im concerned about how much tp eat to be able to rode my bike and not feel weak.
What do you do for protein and strength training? I feel like I won’t have enough strength for weights
For the majority of my meals I try to incorporate chickpeas, quinoa, various beans, nuts and seeds. I know this sounds bland lol but I'm quite adventurous with the way I cook with them. I find that eating this way has allowed for me to get plenty of protein in my diet and to build muscle.
I'm currently in the middle of filming lots of content relating to the foods I cook to include the recipes and the benefits. Hopefully this will help.
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment
😘
I also explain that the proof is in the pudding, I eat bucket loads of fruit a day but I don't put weight on from eating those sugars, so yeah lol
Thank you so much for watching and commenting and yes, I am currently in the process of recording more videos like this - lots more to come in the upcoming weeks and months. Thanx again❣
@@MindfullyRooted Thank you! I look forward to it. I want to start lifting after seeing that you do.
@@user-jm5jt9ud4p thank you so much - and you’ve got this💪
Never juice fruit personally, only veggies and greens. ,y favorite is cucumber, celery, fennel, kale and white cabbage.
@@donatina1987 This is GREAT information!! I took your advice and added some celery and kale into my orange and beetroot juice yesterday and it gave me extra energy and I felt great for it so thank you. Next time round I'm going to try just veggies for the added benefits.
Thanx again for your recommendations!!
💕
May I ask what Juicer do you use?
Absolutely, It's called 'Amzchef'. Bought it from Amazon for about £200. It's pretty decent. The build quality isn't the best but it definitely does the job - the juice is always perfect. Hope this helps xx
@@MindfullyRooted thank you so much🙏🏽❤️
New to your channel I'm going through breast cancer but haven't had any treatment has yet. Working on trying to lose weight can you help me i eat meat. But will try most things, i do juicing, go to the gym nut would love to change my diet a bit better.
I am so very sorry to hear this, firstly - wishing you a speedy recovery and I pray you recover back to full health💞
I would highly recommend, if you are going to continue to eat meat, please try to restrict the amount that you have with each meal and perhaps increase the amount of leafy green vegetables - raw if possible or cooked only for a couple of minutes so you are able to get as many nutrients out of the veggies as possible. Please continue to juice and going to the gym but the main recommendation would be to increase whole foods, and incorporate herbal teas such as moringa and soursop if you are able to get your hands on it.
Hopefully this helps and wishing you all the very best❣
Thank you very much for getting back to me
Do you train on an empty stomach? I struggle doing this… any tips? What about protein for muscle growth? Helpful video🙏
@@teedee1170 many thanx for watching and commenting☺️
Yes, I always train on an empty stomach. I practice intermittent fasting daily. It took me about 2 weeks before I got used to training on an empty stomach. Sometimes it can take a bit of time for our bodies to get used to this way of eating/training but I find it to be great now. Don’t give up on it, you’ll get there ☺️
I get my protein from eating foods such as lentils, chickpeas, black beans, I also have a vegan protein shake daily. I’ve found that I’ve been able to build muscle eating these foods.
I think these are great questions so I’ll do a full video covering this. I’m also planning on filming a video that features all of the meals that I eat during the week 😋 which enables me to build muscle.
Hope this helps but please do let me know if you have any other questions as I’m always happy to help❤️
@@MindfullyRooted please do make more videos on your vegan eating journey especially for strength training… and your experiences with adding creatine. Thank you💕
@@teedee1170 will do lovely☺️I took a break off creatine for some weeks and I cycle back on it next Sunday so I’ll be filming the whole process and showing my before and after, so hopefully it will help. And I’ll be filming lots of vegan food content. All coming soon.
Thank you so much for suggested video ideas, can’t wait to upload them in the very near future💕
Oh and I forgot to mention, a great tip for being able to train on an empty stomach is making sure to eat very well the day before, protein, carbs, fibre. If I don’t eat well the day before training I notice I struggle with my energy levels in the gym when training fasted ☺️
How long you been a Vegan ? I been a vegan since 2007 it was the best decision ever 💯
