  • Join me as we discuss some realistic features of the Flysimware Lear 35A for Microsoft Flight Simulator. I am a real-world pilot who has flown business jets for nearly 2 decades. This intro to the Lear 35 takes a look at aircraft systems, features, and how the Lear 35 in MSFS relates to real-world flying.
    This is NOT a first-look type of video. Before making this video, the FSW Lear 35 was flown for approximately 15 hours. Items were researched and real-world Lear 35 pilots were consulted.
    Join this channel at the Private Pilot tier or higher to get access to guides and tutorials on the Citation Longitude, CJ4, Flysimware Cessna 414, and Concorde. Members who join at the Commercial level (6.99) will get access to Lear 35 tutorials and every Private Pilot tier video (All channel member videos are ad-free).

    Thank you for the altimeter bit. Was driving me nuts that it didn't seem to have a press for STD option. I didn't realize I had to HOLD it.

    Dude, that was so fantastic. I absolutely love that video. This plane is my absolute favorite private jet so far in the Sim and great cinematic video as well. Fantastic job. Thank you for the information very useful.

    I am loving this bird. Flysimware does a great job!
    One of my favorite things in MSFS is flying planes I do not have the courage to fly in real life. Lear 35 and Metroliner are easily in my top 3 LOL.

      FSW does an amazing job and their Cessna 414 is one of my all time favorite add-on aircraft. I never thought about using MSFS for airplanes I never want to fly but instead, for me, airplanes I can’t fly because they are only found in museums.

    I’ve been holding off on buying it until it comes out of EA, but this makes it sooooo hard to resist. It’s just such a cool plane (and I think my first jet all the way back in fs95 days)

      Do not let the early access part stop you from enjoying the Lear now. You will still enjoy flying it. It's very functional.

    Great video! I like the old Lears looking so much like the adult form of the larval F-104 :) I've been very interested in this plane but am waiting for the full release with manuals and all. I'm encouraged that it meets with your approval already :)

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  5 місяців тому +1

      It does meet my approval. As I told @flightsimschool, do not wait for the full release. Get it and enjoy it now. My Lear in MSFS has 18.9 hours on it and I'm enjoying it. Nothing beats flying an old steam gauge jet and finding bad weather to do approaches in.

    • @TheBullethead
      @TheBullethead 5 місяців тому

      @@thecorporatepilotdad Not being a real pilot at all, much less a bizjet pilot, I feel a need to wait for documentation. But I do agree that steam gauge jets in crappy weather are good fun. I've had a blast with the BAe 146.

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  5 місяців тому +1

      @@TheBullethead You will enjoy it regardless of having documentation or not. Something tells me you will do fine "without" documentation for now. If you ever want to find the worst weather in the sim to fly approaches, use badbadweather.com to find it.

      Its honestly in great shape for being Early Access. I would say its better than some recent "full releases" (like the SWS PC-12)

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  5 місяців тому +1

      @@FlightSimCFI Definitely. No one should wait if they want to buy it. It is early access but very functional and it will become even better over time - like a fine wine.

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  5 місяців тому

      It’s hard to say without hearing it. The rotary test to the left of the throttle can be used to see if the sound can be recreated and possibly determine what it is. Outside of that, the flysimware Discord server is the best place for assistance and bug reporting. Chances are if a problem occurs, someone else has it too and a solution has been found.

    HI FSW! I'm a huge fan of the FSX version of this being happy owner for many years now. Is this a port or completely new build for MSFS? I'm building a new PC with MSFS this is likely to be my first purchase along with any PMDG birds I can get my hands on.
    Always been very happy with the support and product will happily buy this again when I have the machine for it!
    Question: The different avionics options. With FSX i have multiple 3rd party Garmin sims that I plug into the L35A. Do you still need to buy these separately from your product elsewhere or are they included in the sale price?
    I'm used to GNS 430/530W (so much nostalgia!) and GTN750 (God tier unit).
    Excuse my noob questions I'm completely new to MSFS and the current add-on market!

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  5 місяців тому

      I’m not affiliated with FSW but I’ll do my best to answer. This does not appear to be a port over. It might be in some ways, but they are doing what they can to make it as realistic as possible within MSFS. The default GPS is the WT Garmin GNS 530. The PMS or TDS GTN750 are available for use in the Lear 35. I personally use the TDS version. This isn’t the final release of the airplane. It will get even better. By the way, since you mentioned PMDG, their DC-6 is a must if you enjoy classic airplanes. The FSW Cessna 414 is also must buy. I better stop before you spend more money on great add-on aircraft (throw the Just Flight Turbo Arrow IV on that list). That is all.

    • @florida4life
      @florida4life 5 місяців тому

      @@thecorporatepilotdad Hey thanks for the reply! All those are MSFS birds yes? I have an extensive FSX collection sadly not available to me right now. That 414 hmm I was a big RealAir fan sadly now defunct and spent way to many hours in their turboprop Beech 60/turbo.This might just scratch that itch as my other turbo 2 go was the PMDG J41..also history!
      DC-6 been on my watch list for a long time I have all their other birds on FSX as well as the A2A set :D.
      I'm still shopping for my next laptop at the moment I better get moving!
      The default GNS530 is that fully functional like real world as I remember the horrid basic FSX 430 version? I'll look up TNS/PMS I can;t even remember whose I purchased before.
      No worries with recommendations: I love throwing money at devs creating these beauties. Spent over $3k on OrbX scenery back in the day too!
      Thanks again for reply, you don't stream do you? I'm a regular on Twitch is all...

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad  5 місяців тому +1

      @@florida4life I do not stream but have around 10 times over the last three years. Streaming is not enjoyable to me. I do an aviation podcast with another corporate pilot so that keeps me busy enough in addition to my real world flying job, family, and the YT channel. Another great add-on: Look up Arrows Across America on flightsim.to. They recreated several airmail routes that used concrete arrows under 51’ tall lighted beacons pointing to the next beacon. That system is what made airmail successful by being faster than trains since aircraft could fly reliably at night. That add-on is free. Grab a sectional from the 1930s online and you have a historically accurate way to navigate. Yes, all the airplanes mentioned previously are for MSFS.
