What do you guys think about this idea: overall, around 50% on food works rather well if you (and your opponent) don't know what you are doing. That's why it worked for him early on and he just kept on doing it. Also, he keeps on producing (as opposed to his LEL-opponent). Lastly, his strategy prevents overinvesting like suddenly sending all your workers to stone because you need a castle. Constant food production.
In Age of Kings, if a villager was created with a gather point, you could change the gather point to guarantee the same gender would be created next. That is the last time I tried it, I did that as a kid as well.
i love this. This is how I played. I picked units based on how cool they looked. always made sure the marched in formation. Buying all the blacksmith upgrades sounds familiar.

"Quality without results is pointless. Results without quality is boring." - Cruyff This Legend has quality AND results! GOAT Btw he only made a compromise regarding the woodcutters. Not a single woman was mining, and not a single man was farming.
Back in the old days of AOE2 there was a very popular rumor that used to say that man villagers were better at mining and chopping, while female were good at food gathering. I believed it for some time.. but it's so tiring consuming that i quit
Wow, this brings memories back. However, I used female villagers as gold miners in addition to being farmers while males were lumberjacks, stone miners and builders. That was how my sister played the game and since she taught me AoE2, I followed her decisions without any hesitation. Btw, boars and deers were just decorations ofc. We've never killed them. Good times. I'm a low elo arena 🤡 though, so, I'm not here to judge this fella but rather, appreciate it.
After 1.5 K hours of DE2 Medieval, I to this day still have the men do mining/lumber work and the ladies agriculture. Realism and immersion is of utmost importance to me when I play.

I would love to see t90 play a fan game challenge where he has to make the “harem villagers” work. 1 male villager, the rest have to be female. Delete any males that are born
I also separate the work roles of male and female villagers. Male lumberjacks and miners, female gatherers and farmers. I've lived in West Virginia doing lumber processing and around coal mines, never once have I seen a female on the crew. Let the men do the hard labor and take the risk of raids, let the women hang out near the TC safely tending the cabbages.
hey just a FYI, the Dark elf in LEL link actually takes us to the 8 DE barracks wall legend - very entertaining, but I don't think it's the video you wanted ^^
Dark Elf's playstyle reminds me of the game 0AD. It takes a lot of inspiration from Age 2 (I think it released before Age 2 had it's surge in popularity tho) Woman are berry pickers and farmers, while men can mine and build buildings. And because of that, low level military units can build certain buildings aswell.
Yesterday i've spectated some games on my own, and found low elo nomad game, where blue players didn't put down town centre and just used on villager to build port and used him to gather shore fish, while other two became lumberjacks to build some fishing ships and put down town centre late and went straight away feudal after it was build, put second town centre asap and it happened to be next to red and in range of both town centres, then blue happened to get more vils than red on lumber and filled town centre and done better repairs (used one or two villagers almost all time while red was fixing town centre to max using all villagers after they were kicked out because of low health, while blue town centre kept hitting red's, so red run out of lumber and lost towncanter lol, tehn they were fighting using villagers, there was no military until 50 minutes, red built new town centre later, blue used villagers to raid red villagers (obviously purposefully) and build third town centre next ot red again in order to destroy it same way again, however blue build tower and won it, later red used his barracks to make some man at arms which pissed blue off and he started making military and crushed red xD So funny, i wish i knew how to save replays (if there is any way to do that as spect) XD

Now this is a true legend. Salutes for DarkElf!
I used to do things like that too, but my paranoia with buildings positions was even greater, i would even destroy houses, if the doors and roofs of all buildings we're not aligned.
The legend of _Only Farms..._
I about died laughing at that.
You gotta give it to him - that's one pretty looking city!
"SUPPLIES!! Guys spam SUPPLIEEEESSSS its funny" lol xD thi sguy kills me.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, contact these people and interview them. We need faces to the legends!
He also built his houses exactly 2 farms away from his TC. Only saw the first game, but that looked on purpose as well
The OnlyFarms joke killed me xD
we should let dark elf know he is our legend
if someday T90 does a top tier legends list, this guys deserves S tier, together with fatslob and Blue_coffee
that confession was great, can relate!
i love this. This is how I played. I picked units based on how cool they looked. always made sure the marched in formation. Buying all the blacksmith upgrades sounds familiar.
Can we have a official tournament where the rules include building a beautiful city. Maybe they get given the plans before the game. They still have to win but if they don’t build the city as per the plans they lose the game instead.
Real money, to make people take t serious
I think you could make a mod that would change the work rate for villagers depending on gender so you'd have to do it or else they wouldn't collect any resources.
I have done this before too. It felt more accurate to history to me as a child
I played Dark Elf today. I only remembered this video afterwards.
"Quality without results is pointless. Results without quality is boring." - Cruyff
This Legend has quality AND results! GOAT
Btw he only made a compromise regarding the woodcutters.
0:35 29 year old me does the same " feeling slighly offended" :D
After 1.5 K hours of DE2 Medieval, I to this day still have the men do mining/lumber work and the ladies agriculture. Realism and immersion is of utmost importance to me when I play.
6:17 I somewhere heard (maybe spirit of the law... but I can't find the video) that it's not random, the actual villager creating ist shown with the right picture, so you can actual click to cancel the process to get what you want ;)
greetings from Germany
The low elo legend videos r so nice to watch because u r a great guy. It excels ur great character.
I would love to see t90 play a fan game challenge where he has to make the “harem villagers” work. 1 male villager, the rest have to be female. Delete any males that are born
I envy him for continuously doing just what he pleases.
Lol when he was raiding blue “men on farms?? Back at our base we’d have you on wood!” 🤣🤣
If it’s the eco balance strategy, this guy’s mind is going to be blown when he finally notices the vil count per resource in the UI.
His obsession with making villagers to put them in their role is why he does well. He's constantly making villagers
Update on him :D he still plays and is over 6k games :D Thanks for vid I am loving your style of coments and no-edit long vids
A legend has been born.
significant improvement in the level of play from the previous year
5:08 totally makes sense... yeah
Can't believe the missionaries from the south actually managed to make a change in the north, mad respect.
40:12 "Red was trying to hold his female villagers down by putting them on Onlyfarms"
The role-play plot intensifies
hey just a FYI, the Dark elf in LEL link actually takes us to the 8 DE barracks wall legend - very entertaining, but I don't think it's the video you wanted ^^
this was pleasing to watch
LOL the whole gifted subs backfiring was great!
Dark Elf's playstyle reminds me of the game 0AD. It takes a lot of inspiration from Age 2 (I think it released before Age 2 had it's surge in popularity tho)
Woman are berry pickers and farmers, while men can mine and build buildings. And because of that, low level military units can build certain buildings aswell.
30:40 The Shrine of Azura 😂😂🤣🤣
