En uno de los trailer pasaron una escena de Jack golpeando a Lovejoy (la parte 28:03), lástima que nunca vimos esa escena en el corte final de la película
If you’re too young to have seen this in the cinema in 1997/98, I honestly don’t think you can appreciate how huge it was… it wasn’t just a film, it was a cultural event. The biggest box office ever, the biggest Oscar wins ever, and that song became one of the biggest in history. Everything about it was HUGE
I went out an immediately bought the soundtrack on CD and blasted it in my room 24/7. I was 16. I think Titanic is the only movie I have ever paid to see more than 2 times in the theater.
The part where she says “I happen to hate caviar.” Is so much more sentimental, because when Jack joined dinner in 1st class and they asked him how he liked his caviar, he said “I’ve never been a fan of caviar” then Jack and Rose smile at each other. It shows that he listened to every word Rose said.
I love Roses mom saying “I can't imagine needing that skill less” when offered a chance to try the rowing machine…only for her to be helping Molly row later.
@@erikpeltomaa9873dunno but its just a movie anyway. Alot of kids and mothers died and alot of men died. But the entire love story and all that is completely made up.
@@flocckaseagulls it was a deleted scene i was watching in at the park and i laughed like a freaking banshee. i didnt know people would be there, just staring at me lol
Rose feeling trapped was actually a great scene. It perfectly portraid why she wanted to die. She felt trapped and a slave to all the luxury and etiquettes that was forced on her. She wanted to be a free soul.
i watched the original yesterday and the scene "Jack fight lovejoy" should they let inside the film... because in the original u see Lovejoy bleeding (after the escape scene)... My wife and me watched each other and thinking... where the hell comes the blood from?! Now i know :D sry for my bad eng, its not my main lang.
9:52 really should’ve been left in the film. Not only does it explain why Jack sings the song later on, but the particular exchange “what would you wish for?” “something I can’t have” marks the exact moment their relationship shifts from platonic to romantic. This is where the seed is planted. It’s such a crucial moment.
Agreed. The song matters. I also wish they'd left in the scene where Rose goes down to third class the say after her suicide attempt. As I recall, the note in the script says "It's like the slipper fitting Cinderella." So much good stuff in that scene -- Jack letting Cora draw on his sketch pad; Fabrizio (a poorly conceived performance badly acted) connecting with Helga, especially since she appears in the sinking scene; Tommy's facial expression, the shoulder-slap. It reinforces the idea that Jack is a fundamentally lucky guy, which makes his demise more heartbreaking. "Rose's Dreams" is a good scene to have left on the cutting-room-floor, especially after "Revolutionary Road," in which her character has similar flibbertygibbet "dreams" that don't fit in with real life. #16 is completely inconsistent with how Molly backs down later. THIS should have been included and THAT scene deleted. The one in the final cut is not consistent with reports of what Molly Brown actually did.
Nah I think the editing was perfect and just as it should have been. Not everything has to be so spelled out. It was a masterpiece and the editing was perfect
I love that they changed the ending. It didnt work. I love that Rose kept one last secret to herself and put the diamond, which simbolized greed, back on the Titanic where it belonged. It was also such a nice quiet moment with a wonderful actress. Less is more sometimes.
I can totally see why most of them were cut, but "Down to Third Class" and "Come Josephine" were so sweet and definitely deserved to make it to the final version.
Down to 3rd class was a fantastic scene. The element of surprise on the 3rd class passengers' face as Rose descended down the stairs really gives us an idea of the class system that existed back then.
@@Firemarioflower I also liked the flirting that Helga and Fabrizio were doing. The start of a blossoming romance. Cameron said that he had in fact worked out an entire romance/plot for the likes of them, but realized there wasn't enough time available to do so on screen, as the movie was already going to be 4 hours long etc.
It really does. All the small details and facts are in these deleted scenes. I really like the scene about the Californian warning the titanic and the titanic saying screw off. I really wish that I would’ve stayed in the movie that was a big important part of why they did not get help.
1:11 Rose Feels Trapped would've made the motivation for her suicide attempt more solid. I always felt there was something missing between the shot of her sitting at the table and then running towards the stern of the ship. This scene fills in that gap perfectly and either should've been left in entirely, or shortened but either way it was an example of a bad cut. Showing her having a brief mental breakdown just before attempting suicide would've made all the sense in the world, instead of making you think..."huh? Why are you actually trying to literally end your life..."
I don't think that dwelling on the motivation for the suicide attempt would have been a good call. It is jarring in the film, but the sequence would only draw attention to things the viewer has already been made aware of multiple times. I also don't buy the performance from Kate Winslet in the scene. Considering how the movie is structured overall, I'd have to agree with the call to cut this. It would only push the runtime in a part of the movie, that really is only relevant as a starting off point for her arc.
I get why a lot of these were cut, but the Come Josephine clip because that explains why Jack sings it during the “I’m flying” scene and why Rose sings it before Jack’s death scene. I also think it would’ve been nice if scene 4 (when Rose goes down to the 3rd class area to see Jack) stayed because it not only introduces us to Cora and explains how Jack knew her in that dancing scene, it also explains how Jack and Rose reunited and started talking on the top deck
Nah the How bout a little ice line, adds humour to a time where it should be all about the tension and drama. That drama does not need to be broken up at such a crucial moment. It's clever, but I completely get why it was removed.
There’s so many little scenes that just tie together so beautifully. Like when they were on the deck singing Come Josephine, that is also the song Rose sang while lying on the door on the ocean to keep her awake while waiting to be saved.
@rosalielynch8468 Don't forget the Shooting Star moment too. Concerning Jack saying a soul would go to heaven if you saw one, because, Rose did too when she was lying on the wooden panel in the water and before finding out Jack had died.
@@iREK4Ni Yea, I was absolutely gut-wrenched once I found out that Cameron had taken out the shooting star moment in the 2012 Re-release of Titanic. Just the one of Rose laying in the water on the wooden panel though at the very end. A sign that Jack had gone to heaven. The other two shooting star moments are both only visible in the deleted scenes. Since Titanic won't be released uncut in the near future (I firmly believe), including the uncut version going through a HD, 3D-conversion process, the complete absence of the shooting star scenes will remain this way unfortunately.
The death scene of Cora and her family is truly chilling as they are unable to leave the bars of the third class section and drown, a scene that would have caused shock in the audience. extraordinary Titanic movie.
It should’ve been kept in because there were 53 children who died. 1 was first class. 52 were third class. That scene acknowledges and pays respect to them. It makes her appearance at the end with her father hit even harder because she was so little. 😢💔
@@ThesluttlyapostolicbarbieI think it’s more that her world is so stuffy. She’s not really allowed to have a personality. She needs to sit down, shut up, and look pretty. Whereas the 3rd class people, at least in her eyes, are free. Does that make sense?
Something no one talks about is 11:30. Jack tells Rose that his dad would tell him a shooting star was a soul going to heaven. When Jack dies what do we see in the sky? A shooting star...
I noticed that too when I first saw "Come Josephine" scene (not sure why it got deleted, as it's so wonderfully made, it describes later scenes as well to resembles what it means) . Also in alternate ending Rose sees shooting star in the end and in next frame she was lying on bed which clarify she was dead and met Jack in afterlife (last staircase scene where every main character of Titanic welcomes her) , but again since this Jack's talking about his father's belief about shooting star got deleted it did not clarifies Rose was actually dead or not at the end and that's why there is a possibility in original ending that she was sleeping and dreaming. These small details really makes story so beautiful.
Tommy and Fabrizio were such great side characters, it's a shame we didn't get to see them more in the movie. I also just learnt about the head chef and how he helped and survived so it's awesome to see a bit more of him in action.
I’m so sad they deleted the scene about Isidor and Ida Straus. It’s a real story, I read about them and they were really on the titanic. He refused to go into one of the safety boat because he didn’t want to take the place of a child or a woman. And his wife refused to leave him so they put their servant in the boats and just waited together for death on the Titanic. What a couple.
I know this sounds like a big fat lie but I babysat for a family in the early 90s that had a letter from them on titanic stationery. They had somehow gotten it from like a basement storeroom in Macy’s in like the 80s. I don’t recall the circumstances but it was real and framed in their house.
Nooooo. They're good but they obviously cut them because they are not needed to move the plot forward. The movie is complete without them. And it's amazing without them.
@@h33-q8w No, many of the scenes were cut, because Cameron had to comply with the wishes and demands of the studios and cinema's. A +3 hour movie meant less run time and less potential revenue from ticket, merchandise and consumption sales. This was before Cameron himself had any clue that Titanic was gonna earn +$1.8 Billion at the box office. If he and everyone else had known, he would have kept some of the scenes that he actually really liked. That includes, the scene with the Strauss' on deck and Rose going down to steerage to meet Jack and his friends. The fight scene of Lovejoy with Jack would have been cut regardless, because according to Cameron the testing audience didn't like it one bit, as they felt it was too distracting and not adding much to the flow. And Cameron fortunately listened to them and took their advice.
@victorsamsung2921 I liked that fight scene, but then again, I'm a hardcore "Titanic" fan ever since I was a child, so I might be biased in regards to adding extra 10 minutes of an action scene that doesn't move the plot or the characters. But I really liked Jack finally getting some face-to-face comeuppance with Lovejoy who's spent every living moment of the last couple of days ruining Jack's life. It was well earned.
In Rose’s dreams she said she hates caviar.. it adds more context why she smiles at dinner when he also turns down caviar and says he never cared for it ❤
@@noonesperfect Even the couple laying in bed. I had *no* idea those two were Ida & Isidor Strauss. If only that scene had been included of Ida saying she stays with Isidor.
Her smiling at him saying that he "never really liked it much" could also be explained by him acting as if he was one of the rich folk (in a sarcastic kinda way), which could have made Rose smile. So even though, it would have been a nice touch to also have that previous scene, it by no means creates loophole or any other similar type of stuff.
“No. No. Please, Ida, get into the boat.” “No! We've been together for 40 years and where you go, I go. Don't argue with me, Isidor. You know it does no good.” 😭
The scene with the Husband's letter always breaks my heart. He's so calm and stable, fully accepting that he will likely die, and all he cares about is getting a letter to his wife whom he clearly loves... Him being so calm and collected is what makes it hit so hard, I think...
It's a shame there wasn't a little vignette of Rose handing the letter to someone after Cal left off looking for her. It would have been a nice little bookend
I love the foreshadowing of Rose's mom saying "I can't imagine a skill I should need less" when talking about the rowing machine. There's another bit of foreshadowing like that in the scene where they're having a church service, and the hymn they're singing has a lyric referencing "those in peril on the sea".
So the hymn with the lyrics ‘for Those in peril on the sea’ - this was not a directorial decision or choice to foreshadow. It’s historically accurate, believe it or not. it was sang on that morning during the service!
@englishatheart but isn't that irony? She asked for ice in her glass and ice is what took down the ship? A coincidence would be two ships named titanic sinking...
@@СергейВеселов-ъ6б he was on the same league as hans zimmer, john Williams etc. World lost a precious soul. Can't imagine compositions he would have contributed had he been alive.
On the anniversary of the movie they should edit all of these scenes into it and release it into theaters for a limited time. So many fans of the Titanic would be so thrilled to see it and I guarantee it would make so much money man
The guy who drank whiskey the whole time and throwing the chairs out during the sinking is a genius! Heard he survived bc he didn't feel the cold and was too buzzed
I think "too buzzed" may be an understatement, The dude was absolutely fucked...which ironically saved him from the cold. Crazy what alcohol does to your body.
His name was Charles Joughin. He was Titanics chief baker. I think he was the last one off of the ship and described it finally going under as ‘I just stepped off and didn’t even get my hair wet’.
@@pinksheep406 alcohol only makes you not feel as cold as you normally would, it actually accelerates hypothermia, because the blood flows towards your extremities.
I absolutely love the scene when Rose comes down to third class to ask to speak to Jack. The way everyone just stops what they're doing to look at her, how obviously awkward she feels, Jack's friends gobsmacked at seeing her approach him, Jack's nervousness, the smirks etc. Absolutely brilliant scene. I can't understand why they decided to cut it. Especially as kt goes so well with Tommy's comment about Rose when Jack first saw her. The boiler room kiss was also one of my favourites, so steamy! (Pun intended)
"Rose, I don't know what to say to a woman that tries to jump off the Titanic when it isn't sinking and hops back on when it is" 😂😂😂 The movie needed that line at the end!!🤣🤣
i think its a nice foreshadow type thing for the future event of when she hits that guy thats trying to drag her away when shes trying to save jack from the handcuffs
@@eeeeeeeeeeeee235 Its crazy , almost every cut scene is for something used later in the movie, like you mentioned for the punch. A second earlier the old snob mom says she couldnt imagine needing to ever row a boat , lol!!! Its all foreshadowing. This movie couldve been another hour and it wouldve still been great and not too long, ashame all this was cut!
There were a few historical accurate moments left out for some reason, such as the scene with the wireless operators on duty when the Californian warned about the ice field, and how Jack Phillips did not leave his post. There was also the scene with the captain yelling to boat #6 about turning back. They tried calling back many of the half-empty boats in order to save more people. Some of the Molly Brown scenes was also historically accurate, with her taking charge in the lifeboat, and grumbling about when the officer told then to not return for more passengers. The Straus couple is also accurately depicted, with their iconic "we've been together for 40 years" line. That also explains the short scene with them on the bed, as the water runs beneath them. I wonder how it would have turned out if there was an extended cut version of the movie.
Including some scenes of the Countess of Rothes in the lifeboats would have been appropriate too. Apparently she went out of her way to help the sailor command the boat and helped to keep everybody on it alive. She and the sailor corresponded every year for the rest of their lives and gave each other a gift. I can't remember what the Countess gave the sailor but the sailor removed the metal lifeboat number from the bow of the boat and sent it on to her. She treasured it.
Agree totally! And they could have done more about the Californian seeing the sinking (from far away) but didn’t respond to the flares or anything because the flares were not in minute intervals.
Also, the scene at 23:11 where Charles Joughin throws chairs in the water and drinks alcohol in order to keep himself warm, all of it really happened and he was the last survivor to leave the ship
I love how we all just been watching this within a few hours of each other. I hope this blows up and a directors cut is released so many people would love the 4 hr version
Definitely. It would be a great business decision for them too because it would really be very little work to bring the deleted scenes back into the final cut and so many people would be willing to pay for the 4 hour version.
@@_CloseR_ yup, there is no official extended/directors cut yet. They need to bring that soon, it would have been great if they have released this on 25th Anniversary version.
19:30 Ida and isidor !!! The way he hugged his wife and accepted her decision to stay behind with him when she could have gone broke me into pieces. That's real love and dedication she was willing to be with him until their final death in the midst of something so tragic . isidor hugged her so tight I could feel it through the screen.
@@marshamariner7897 Maybe that's one reason why Stockton Rush, as an originally aicraft person, got obsessed with Titanic? Don't know if it's true, but I've read something about his wife being with him diving down to the wreck before...

One of the best movies of all time. Acting by Leo and Kate are incredible. They lived and felt the character. Fantastic actors. James Cameron nailed this film and cast. A genius. This film is timeless. Eternal.
@@Gencturk92 Rightly so. The performances of the main actors are the weakest part of the film. Like 4.5/5 stars, instead of the 5.0 that the rest of the film delivers.
I always felt there was something missing between Rose sitting at dinner and then trying to jump off the ship. The definitely should’ve left the Rose is Trapped scene in. Explained much more. The extended Carpathia scene actually made me cry. They should’ve left it in, especially with Ismay perceiving everyone staring at him. They had to keep him snowed with opiates all the way to NYC. Seeing Rose’s mother look for her was heartbreaking, even with how she was using her. That was par for the course in 1912. 😓🙏🏻 I also wish they’d left in the Marconi operator scene, and the Strauss’s. That was such a poignant moment.
i actually got it though i grew up expecting to marry well practically groomed for it my first husband was comfortable but not wealthys i did that to piss off my parents my second husband was their choice because of money but one year into that marraige i fell in love with a guy in the army not caring if he had two cents or not. been married for 18 years now. there is nothing like that feeling of sitting there screaming inside and no one can hear you because you were brought up to smile and endure. its maddening so i get why she would be willing to jump.
And the way she doesn’t even have the ability to take off her own clothes without someone doing it for her is the perfect thing to rub everything in and push her over the edge. I’ve felt it myself, as an autistic girl in an abusive family forced to go to many exhausting, loud, sensorily painful family gatherings wearing tight, scratchy clothes my mother forced me into which I couldn’t take off without her. More than once I’ve been stuck in one of those dresses myself, and I’ve had plenty of moments like Rose where I’ve never been as close to wanting to kill myself as when I couldn’t even get out of one of those dresses at the end of an painful, mockery and abuse-filled day without my mom to take it off for me. It’s such a perfect moment to choose for that kind of despair.
honestly, out of all of these, i think the scene where rose cant even get a dress off herself was so important. she really snapped and i always wondered how her hair just got down and no necklace, she was just already broken down. And the scene when rose tells jack what dreams she has for her life
My favorite deleted scene is the one Rose goes down to 3rd Class to find jack. Instead of bragging about wealth and power in separate groups like the 1st class passengers, you see everyone happy and getting to know each other. Just like Fabrizio and Helga. There is no envy and no fake laughs. Just everyone being genuine despite their poor condition. The icing on the cake is definitely when Rose walks in, all people immediately look up to her in respect, men taking their hats off. Unlike the 1st Class, which just treats her indifferently.
My absolute favourite as well. Fabritzio is my absolute favourite supporting character (Tommy too) but I always loved how genuinely excited he is to "go to America." It really does showcase that money and opportunity doesn't always mean genuine happiness (I say this as someone who grew up like Rose, with far more wealth and privilege than I realized.)
I think James Cameron tried to make an very emotional ending, by saying that life itself is more worth than any jewels. But the result was by far not good enough, so he didn`t used it. The alternate ending didn`t fit the quality of the rest of the movies story telling. But James Cameron is a great director and he recognized that. The actual ending is perfect or the movie.
scenes that definitely should have been in the final version: 1:11 Rose Feels Trapped 5:33 Down to 3rd Class 8:15 Rose's Dreams 9:52 Come Josephine 31:51 Extended Carpathia
Rose feeling trapped, was actually a great scene! Gave me a better insight of why she wanted to die, because she felt used and trapped in that life of luxury, but so empty and lonely in her heart.
@@WaleedKayhe was abusive, implied that he cheated on her, and much older than herself (she was 17). Also she was forced to marry by her mother for money
@@WaleedKay Rose didn't love Cal and Cal didn't love Rose. She was being forced into an arranged marriage to benefit her mother. Cal just wanted Rose as a trophy wife. Maybe to some cultures an arranged marriage is still acceptable, but we've moved past that in the Western world. In the West, girls are raised to believe that marriage should be based on mutual love.
@@charlottecreamer5942 I feel the same way about Roe's and Cal's feelings toward one another. Neither of them would have been happy in that arranged marriage. Rose definitely would have been abused, and Cal would remain a playboy. I'm happy that the West has moved from that mindset, and women can marry who they want, or not marry at all. I'm a widow for the second time myself, and I have no desire to find another husband. It's been a year since my husband died, and I miss him, but happy that I don't have to worry about no one but myself. (Jan Griffiths).
Ida and Isidor were actors based off real people on the Titanic. They were in the early 60’s and 1st class citizens. Ida didn’t want to leave her husband, and instead of them protesting being 1st class and how they both should get on, they wanted all the younger people to get on the escape boats before them. This is the couple you see cuddling in the bed while the water floods the Titanic.
Actually most of the characters are real, like JJ astor, Bruce ismay, Molly, guggenheim, the captain and some crews. The only exception is mr.Murdoch supposed to be paint as a hero but James made him as a jerk officer thats why he got lots of backlash and he apologized to Murdoch’s family.
@@gigit8234 Yes also I was reading that the Countess of Rothes, helped comfort a woman in the lifeboat who lost her husband and also really tended to the third class passengers on the Carpathia.
@rosalielynch Being in 1st Class didn’t guarantee a space on a lifeboat, not by a long shot-if you were male. John Jacob Astor, the wealthiest man on the ship, was denied a seat in Lifeboat #4 by 2nd Officer Lightoller. Other luminaries like Broadway producer Henry Harris were denied seats, too.
I just noticed, Rose said she hates caviar and Jack mentioned that too when he was dining in first class. Rose smiled at him after he said that and it makes me think that it was a subtle but sweet understanding between these two ^^
This movie is Remarkable. Titanic 1997 is a masterpiece. There can be no movie like this 😢. Hats off to James Cameron, his cast and crew and especially his direction for making such an amazing movie ❤
Absolutely, I gained so much more respect for Cameron and understand why and how he made this perfect movie... Its because he said in order to make this movie he needs to really see and live the Titanic. So he traveled to where the Titanic lays with an ROV, and looked at the Titanic, and traveled through many of the rooms, its also how they got all those shots of the actual Titanic at the bottom of the ocean. Whats crazy is its been 111 years since it sunk, and its still almost all intact. Whether its the wood, steel, iron, etc most of it is still there after all thsoe years... the chandlers, doorways, hallways, doors, and much more. Pretty Wild!
There is absolutely, unequivocally, no way I’d ever get in a boat without my husband. I understand why most couples choose that, but I stand with the few women who fought to die with their husbands. I couldn’t bear the thought of not being with him in his last moments. I couldn’t live with wondering how long he suffered for. Our souls would have to depart together ❤
^ What's sad is how STUPID and badly executed it all was. Of course, NOW, say "women and children first" to any seaman and you'll be looked at like you're a psycho, and deservedly so. If Titanic's crew had just FILLED every boat to capacity, one person after another, as quickly as possible, man or woman or child, FAR more people would have been saved. Yes, many would have perished anyways since the evil was in there not being enough lifeboats for everyone aboard. But there would never have been the issue of women willing to stay behind and die with their husbands or men feeling they needed to do the honorific thing and go down with the ship. And what's worse, the "women and children" order was interpreted differently by various crewmen. Murdoch took the order to mean women and children FIRST, and then men. Lightholler took the order to mean women and children ONLY. So tragic, sad, and preventable.
Would your answer still be the same if you had children with you? Knowing your children would become orphans if both of you decided to stay back and die together.
@@sudiptachakraborti5872 Children could change my answer, but that is assuming that a boat would be available to avoid a orphanage situation and that I had children during that era that I would uproot and travel with. But unfortunately, many children perished with their parent(s) due to lack of sufficient life boats. Out of 2,230 passengers aboard titanic, there were 130 children, 90 of which were third class. With 28 lifeboats designed to hold 65 people and weren’t being filled and they weren’t going back, about 50% of the children aboard Titanic died.
@@Odiekins And there's no way I'm letting my wife stay with me to die when she's got the opoortunity to save her life. I knock her out and throw her in the boat myself. Your husband would do the same.

@@victorsamsung2921 I swear we are jumping timelines because i saw that movie in the theatre twice when it came out and took notice the second time around of that shooting star. Now every time I watch this movie, no shooting star and I checked all the deleted scenes and still no shooting star. Did you find it in the deleteds on youtube?
@@misselanys1219 Yep, that *is* the one! There isn't a deleted scene that shows a shooting star when Rose lies on the wooden panel, because, the scene is still included in the movie, including the 3D re-release. However, it's been *edited* out and replaced with a new one during the 3D conversion process. Why? Because that science b@tch and notorious buzzkill, Neil DeGrasse Tyson , made such a fuss about the constellation shown in the movie on the night of April 14th 1912. Apparently it was incorrect. So, Cameron decided to change it to the correct one. But in doing so, forgot to include the shooting star ... Nice that you saw Titanic twice in cinema by the way. @@victorsamsung2921 LOL I went twice with two different groups of people.First time with friends then second time with my daughter. The extended Carpathia scene should have been kept in the final cut, it's so powerful and compelling, it brings an end to a lot of characters, and shows us an omen of the dishonor that accompanies Ismay for the rest of his life
i agree, carpathia moments should have been included. this ship is special to us because im from the city (Fiume, nowdays Rijeka in Croatia-europe) where carpathia used to dock on the way back from nyc, it was on its way back that night. the dock is still there, and we have the titanic vest in the museum. Definitely come visit
Agreed but not with the Ismay scene. That was just hokey and unimaginative. Plenty of male passengers survived and as far as most of the second and third class passengers knew, that’s all he was, some rich bigwig but not much beyond that, certainly not what he looked like. Possibly even some first class passengers wouldn’t know who he was specifically either. That scene was too over the top just like the one with Molly asking for ice and the one of Ruth scoffing at the rowing machine.
@@piratesswoop725 im a bit undecided on the scene with Carl mistaking some other redhead for Rose. it was possessive, but i couldn't ignore the note of concern and relief in his voice too when he said "Rose?"
In the scene “1st class prepares to leave” is based on a a survivor of the Titanic who began throwing things off the ship for those to grab onto when the boat sank. He drank alcohol all through the night because he knew it would keep his body warm when it hit the water. We also see him on the back of the Titanic next to Jack and Rose as the Titanic sinks. Even then, he is still drinking from his flask.
Come Josephine was actually really precious. That scene at the end when she sings it after the ship has sank and she's on the doorframe, it's always stuck with me. To hear them singing it full of life would have been a great addition. Like the moment they truly fell in love, wishing on a star. 💜 My heart flutters everytime I watch this movie. Now I want the 5 hour edit with all these scenes added.
True, stuck with me too, lot of times pops up in my mind, especially when im stressed out or something, theres also another song from another movie equally stuck with me for some reason- Alien, the first movie- when Sigourney is blasting off that alien in space- she sings Lucky star
@burnedtoastfloats5795 Not to forget that, when Rose & Jack see the shooting star flying by and him saying how his father would say to him it meant a soul was going to *heaven* it's poignant to the scene when they are lying in the water and Rose sees a shooting star again before finding out Jack had died.
@@victorsamsung2921 also in alternate ending Rose sees star falling at the end and in next frame she is on bed, indicating she is dead as well and met Jack in afterlife. Falling star never shown in original movie so we can't say old Rose is dead or not at the end, but Come Josephine scene clears this doubt.
Kate was in her prime in this movie, absolutely gorgeous. All of these delete scenes are great and should be add except the alternate ending, I like the original ending better. I don't mind sitting for another half hour, the delete scenes help to explain the story the better.
Is like no one gonna talk about Cora and her family? Honestly, I’m glad they didn’t show that scene. I would have sobbed. Could you imagine running away up to safety only to be blocked by gates? So incredibly heartbreaking… (for reference 29:38)
I have to hope that most of the people this really happened to didn’t realize that those gates were locked on purpose to keep third class passengers in… I hope people just thought it was a tragic coincidence rather than malice.
@@AK-jt9gx I think I read somewhere that allegations third class was locked were false. However, it was the maze of corridors leading to the deck that caused some to drown. So, definitely not on purpose, but still so heartbreaking to imagine.
That scene where Jack fights Lovejoy is FIRE, is something I didn't know I needed until I watched it, WHAT AN EPIC REVENGE, the level of dedication in this movie is absolutely insane, that's what I have a lot of respect for James Cameron and his crew for making this amazing masterpiece, the actors too they all did and looked wonderful.
iirc, i watched a video where james cameron mentioned that they had a test audience and that extended fight scene didn't resonate with them because it felt too cartoony, having a villainous lovejoy hell bent on going after jack and rose during the sinking. it was unnecessary drama and took away from the actual sinking.
i almost cried watching this, its so sad to me how eventhough she wanted to die, rose lived for jack, and eventhough all he wanted to do was live, jack died for rose 😭😭❤❤
I think most of these scenes provide much needed context. First and foremost the mental breakdown Rose has because in the original movie she kind of goes from 0 to 100 so the breakdown helps bridge the gap. I also thought it was interesting Rose was singing a song while floating and wondering why they had scripted that - now it makes sense that they had sung it together. I also had wondered what happened to Lovejoy. Of course I assumed he didn’t make it out but his storyline just ends when Cal chases them - now it’s clear Lovejoy probably got trapped trying to chase them. The extra scenes with Fabrizio are welcomed because I thought it was strange he and Jack joined the ship together and then basically didn’t see each other again! Having Rose and Jack spend time with Fabrizio and ultimately shows the relationship he had with Helga (so Rose and Jack know her) helps to underscore the importance of the look Rose and her share while waiting for the ship to sink straight down + before Helga falls to her death, since I hadn’t recognized her at all and was wondering why they held each others gaze for so long. Scenes between Suzy and Bill Create a relationship and I think the alternate ending is ultimately a nod to them starting a budding romance on the sea, as evidenced by Rose’s smile when Bill asks Suzy to dance. The Carpathia scene showing the other characters would’ve been nice to include because it shows Rose’s mom looking for her and gives closure with that storyline. Finally, the other scenes like the messaging and SOS messaging and whatnot are not necessary but are nice to see the history play out. As I write this I think the best way to have presented the film would have been to include all these deleted scenes but leave the original ending.
23:05 that’s Charles John Joughin who survived, over 2 hours in the water. He helped save lives, forcibly putting women and children onto the lifeboats and throwing over chairs for people in the water.
I cried very hard with the scene of the mother and children in 3rd class. She was calming them down when the water was coming on the ship. Broke my heart back then and still does.
Legendary kate.... She carried the film on her shoulders even after so much of her editing Now we can see through these scenes, why jack fell for her beauty (inside as well as outside) And her voice is amazing too.... Her smile... Her expressions.... Just beauty personified
Why can't people watch things on YT without the need to antagonize everything?! jfc the whole movie is memorable and it's obvious the movie is about Rose's story *because they made it quite clear throughout it all.* 🤌🤦♂️ Plus Kate was already revered for this movie at the time.
@@anaszahoor4628 Nailing it! It is mind-boggling and amazing how Kate Winslet pulled off her role as Rose. Not just as an Englishwoman and having to deal with the accent issue, but not being even 21 years old when filming of the Titanic started in August 1996 as well. She turned 21 in early october. But she was *not* even 21 when the portrait scene was done. How amazing. Playing this huge role ... just wow.
@@victorsamsung2921 yeah..... And it is a testimony to her craft of acting. If Titanic had been done by any other actress, then she would have been known only for Titanic. But kate is so talented, that when you think of her, not only Titanic but more than a dozen of her Amazing performances come to mind with even the names of her characters.
@@anaszahoor4628 It sure is. Kate Winslet did a superb job, following the many great auditions that came pouring in after Titanic, for choosing B- and Indie-roles etc. You know, *not* taking the easy route. Not doing it for the money, but really wanting to become the best version of herself as an actress. Refining her skills. Mare of Easttown is there for a reason haha. Also, Titanic and Winslet is a testimony to James Cameron and his level of professionalism too. Concerning that he was willing to take this gamble, because: 1) Winslet was still largely *unknown* to the American and international audience; 2) when filming started Winslet had just received her 1st Oscar nomination for Sense & Sensibility; 3) the initial budget stood at $125 Million, which is huge; 4) not to forget Winslet was quite young. Cameron said that Winslet's persistance, determination, potential and huge heart convinced him to give her the role of Rose. For he was thinking about giving it to an American actress instead, someone like Gwyneth Paltrow etc. Nonetheless, Winslet got it and she deserved it wholeheartedly. Not just for being so kind to Cameron and saying DiCaprio should get the role of Jack, even when she doesn't get Rose, but being what you want in an actor, which is to perform instead of pursuing $$$ MONEY.
Of all these, definitely #6 "Come Josephine" should've been kept in. Great foreshadowing scene to Rose singing it again looking at the stars after the ship sinks, and good insight into the characters
Growing up around technical theater people, I was always stunned by the sinking dinning room fight. Cameron built an enormous dining room set on a gimbal, then took the time to dress it up to the smallest details, like the silverware, and then he had the gimbal tilt the set and gradual immerse it in water so the props start sliding just as the would on a real sinking ship. After getting all that set up (which could have taken days for each take) he has a gun fight in the middle of the set. Even more incredible, the scene was cut, which doesn't really hurt the movie, but what a technical achievement that no one saw. This is what Cameron was good at, stopping at nothing to get a shot he wanted.
I think if they could have cut it down a bit and had Lovejoy find them faster, it could have stayed. Another commenter said that test audiences kept rejecting it though, saying it didn't fit the "tone" of the film. I personally think it fits...I mean, everything has erupted into chaos at that point. Cal would rather chase Jack and Rose and try to kill them than save his own life. I very much believe Lovejoy would have done the same if Cal promised him the diamond. It also shows how Lovejoy's head was bloodied before we see his death scene. AND, Jack got his revenge for that cowardly punch while he was handcuffed. It's a shame they cut the entire scene especially considering an older actor had to do fight choreography, soaking wet, probably over multple takes 😬
If I could choose to keep only one scene from the deleted ones I would pick the extended carpathia. The upside down boat (which really happened), Rose collapsing, Ismais walk of shame, peoples emotions after they lost their loved ones, Roses mother looking at another mother with daughter thinking Rose is probably dead, everything perfectly shows the aftermath of the tragic event.
all jokes aside…imagine what these people went thru when it legitimately happened at the time. wondering where the rest of your family is…your mother, your father, your sister your brother…your husband your wife….jeez i can’t imagine the trauma they went thru. God bless their family line and i hope all is well. makes me cry
You should see it as a movie considering that's exactly what it is. Not sure why you're creating a separation between film and art like they're not one and the same.
Its a shame that Lovejoy fight scene was cut. I get it as it was a long scene, but the biting tension and the incedible set with the rising water was stunning. So well done.
There's a clip of James Cameron talking about that scene and how test audiences kept rejecting it. He likes it too, but also felt that it clashed with the tone of the film. Ultimately, he decided to take it out as the film didn't need it.
@@redkite121 good point, maybe one of the reasons they cut it. As a huge fan of practical sets though I really hated to see all that great work not make it in the film.
I don't like the "fight" scene. It is just a shame the sinking of the dinner room was lost. They should have put Thomas Andrews there wandering around and observing his ship flood instead.
I cry every time I see the carpathia scene and this extended/deleted scene made me sob. James Cameron needs to make a film about the Carpathia’s incredible effort to rush head first into danger and save the passengers of the sinking. Molly’s also got an extended story with the carpathia and organising donations for the crew & captain of the carpathia. It’s genuinely a great story
I really love that scene when Rose goes down to 3rd class, of course the second half of the movie is spectacular but I love the day to day stuff that goes on in the first half, it adds so many layers
I've met Billy Zane (Cal) once at a convention. Such a nice guy, he signed my Titanic OST vinyl for me. I told him that I loved him in Titanic, being one of the perfect villains in movie history, he really enjoyed hearing that. He was a bit annoyed about people taking his picture without asking first, so I asked and he allowed me to take his photo, according to his reaction, he was thankful that at least somebody asked him if he's okay with being photographed 😂
I'm glad they decided to cut that ending out. The scene they chose was more powerful. 'A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets.' They made her keep her word. No further explanation was needed. Ida and Isidore made me cry and so did Cora's death.
The fact that in the original script of the film there is a scene in which it was never even recorded by the actors that showed a conversation between Cal and Rose at Carphatia in which (they talk more than this) he asks her "What do I tell your mother?" And Rose tells her "Tell her that her daughter died with the Titanic"... Such an important scene being discarded was simply a giant mistake
I am DEVASTATED they cut these! You get to see so much of Rose and who she is inside and her friendship with Jack! They are so vital, I cannot believe they didnt make the cut. Truly, so sad
all the scenes of rose and jack interacting were so sweet and would have given even more to their relationship and why they were willing to risk so much for eachother
I am from India .. watched this epic atleast a 20 times in my life...i was 17 yrs old during the movie release. Titanic not just a movie its a emotion with nostalgic experience and a beautiful feeling.. Rose Jack and The TITANIC IS A HISTORY..we are blessed to have watched this beautiful movie
"Down to 3rd class" scene would have made a lot more sense to leave in, it gave us a good glimpse of what 3rd class was like and man, despite not being wealthy, they were all so happy! loved that scene
one thing i noticed in these scenes is that in the gymnasium, the guy tells Rose's mother to try out the rowing machine and she's like "oh don't be absurd! can't imagine a skill I'd likely need less!" but then later on in the life boat, she's seen struggling to row the boat. made me laugh like yess pull those oars sis 😍

But California was basically next to them (the guy says in the clip “and listen to that. Sounds like they’re right on top of us”) So when they chimed in it basically came as a loud ring And Jack had basically gotten no sleep because they spent the night before fixing the telegraph which broke the day before (when they finished it was Jacks shift. Bride said he would do it but Jack insisted he should) So when this loud ring came into his ear it just made him upset so he told him to shut up It wasn’t his or the other wireless fault He was tired and it’s not like that was the only ice warning they got they got many over the entire course of the trip even about the Ice field He shouldn’t have said to shut up but he was tired and he did his job He died in the sinking and he died a hero cause if it wasn’t for him the rescue ship wouldn’t have come
@@kittypixie.x Its kind of long winded; the technology used to relay information at the time was sparks gap wireless, the further away the receiver the fainter it sounds in the operators headset. Titanics operator was in the process of relaying a backlog of mundane passenger messages to the nearest station which was in Cape Race, Newfoundland over 800 miles away. The SS Californian was less than 10 miles from Titanic when she sent a warning signal about icebergs, the message came through incredibly loud in Titanics operators ear so he replied with "Shut up, I'm working on Cape Race". In fairness, the warning message was not prefix with 'MSG' which was the customary denotation for an important message to be sent to the bridge for the captain...so it was never sent to the bridge. After being told to 'Shut up', the Californians operator signed off for the night and went to sleep. When Titanic did hit the iceberg and started sinking, they tried to contact the Californian but the operator was in dreamland.
Some great deleted scenes. Its crazy, you make a three hour movie and you delete 40 mins of stuff that also should be in there. Cameron is a genius. Minus the alternate ending. That belongs at the bottom of the Atlantic 😂
THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS! All deleted scenes on UA-cam are in VERY low quality this is the only video I've found that has them all HD & in chronological order
I love watching some of the deleted scenes when they first came out. My favourite scene is when Cora calls Jack Uncle Jack it's so sweet and heartwarming
I actually like the alternate ending a bit more than the one in the released movie. It looked like Lovett ended up having a spiritual experience at the end when Rose flicked the diamond into the ocean. She told him that life is the only thing that is priceless, and about making each day count. I think when he burst out laughing there, and seeing his laughter from the overhead crane shot, that symbolized his letting go of greed, and truly understanding.

The part where she says “I happen to hate caviar.” Is so much more sentimental, because when Jack joined dinner in 1st class and they asked him how he liked his caviar, he said “I’ve never been a fan of caviar” then Jack and Rose smile at each other. Yes! He was saying what she had always wanted to say.
I didn't undersand(?)
Also why she sang the song in the water! It makes more sense now!
I knowww, why would they delete that scene but keep in the one where Jack says no caviar?
9:52 really should’ve been left in the film. Not only does it explain why Jack sings the song later on, but the particular exchange “what would you wish for?” “something I can’t have” marks the exact moment their relationship shifts from platonic to romantic. This is where the seed is planted. It’s such a crucial moment.
I completely agaree

My thoughts exactly! It really would’ve brought that whole sequence together.
Thats what i felt when i first watched it, that something was missing, and here it is.
I Love how she is breaking everything.
Exactly

@rosalielynch8468 Don't forget the Shooting Star moment too. Concerning Jack saying a soul would go to heaven if you saw one, because, Rose did too when she was lying on the wooden panel in the water and before finding out Jack had died.
I never caught that!
He whispered sang it to her on the "I'm flying" scene
@@victorsamsung2921 wooow thank you for this comment

Except that none of those gates were locked and there were very few of them on Titanic.

These 39 minutes of deleted scenes flew by... I was so enthralled and never wanted them to end - felt like only 5 minutes!

It honestly feels that without these scenes the movie is incomplete
Nooooo. They're good but they obviously cut them because they are not needed to move the plot forward. The movie is complete without them. And it's amazing without them.
It really does. A lot of context was eliminated
those senes hat too long a cameo moment of the actor portrayed that didn't need it....or the scene got cheesy
In Rose’s dreams she said she hates caviar.. it adds more context why she smiles at dinner when he also turns down caviar and says he never cared for it ❤
lots of small details missed due to cutting of scene like this, even created some continuity and loopholes.
It got both ways because him saying that as a poor person who never had caviar is clever as well.
@@noonesperfect Even the couple laying in bed. I had *no* idea those two were Ida & Isidor Strauss. If only that scene had been included of Ida saying she stays with Isidor.
@@victorsamsung2921 yeah... we need extended cut now lol
“No. No. Please, Ida, get into the boat.”
“No! We've been together for 40 years and where you go, I go. Don't argue with me, Isidor. You know it does no good.”

The letter is to his mistress

I love the foreshadowing of Rose's mom saying "I can't imagine a skill I should need less" when talking about the rowing machine. There's another bit of foreshadowing like that in the scene where they're having a church service, and the hymn they're singing has a lyric referencing "those in peril on the sea".
Her character name is Ruth DeWitt Bukater, by the way.
and mrs brown asking for ice.... very ironic
So the hymn with the lyrics ‘for Those in peril on the sea’ - this was not a directorial decision or choice to foreshadow. It’s historically accurate, believe it or not. it was sang on that morning during the service!

@Skafarr90 there was no need to show every moment that really happened
Also, the scene at 23:11 where Charles Joughin throws chairs in the water and drinks alcohol in order to keep himself warm, all of it really happened and he was the last survivor to leave the ship

I also wish they’d left in the Marconi operator scene, and the Strauss’s. That was such a poignant moment.

Right. I really do think that ship seen them going down. They was too close not too. They even shot fireworks to get attention
@@nikidiajohnson3111the Californian? They were told to F off and when the guy went back to post he was too late with receiving the messages.
He was the chief chef of Titanic.
He also the one who helped Rose after she jumped from something when the boat wasn’t fully sinking
The chef throwing chairs into the water actually survived. He was throwing that stuff so people had something to float on
Come Josephine was actually really precious.
It's actually a doorframe, not a door. It's funny how everyone thinks it's a door, haha
@@victorsamsung2921 ❤️💜 I absolutely love that.
I need a version of Titanic with Fabrizio and Helga as the main characters
Same
Or at the very least, much more prominent supporting characters.
They had a language barrier so it wouldn't be much of a film.
@@DeepScreenAnalysis that's what I'm trying to tell people, the couple make no sense.
@@lennygriffin2761 right, unless Fabrizio’s nationality was changed to Swedish or Norwegian, then it would be a movie in subtitles.
@TotallyUA-cam2.0 For me it was the close up on her face as the water started rising... I had to pause it for a moment before I could continue
@@AK-jt9gx I think I read somewhere that allegations third class was locked were false. However, it was the maze of corridors leading to the deck that caused some to drown. So, definitely not on purpose, but still so heartbreaking to imagine.
what is it that the dad is yelling?
No 1 yet. I'm glad you did. Reading your comment brought that scene back into realization.
And now we know why Lovejoy is covered in blood in the scene, where the Titanic torn into 2 pieces^^
iirc, i watched a video where james cameron mentioned that they had a test audience and that extended fight scene didn't resonate with them because it felt too cartoony, having a villainous lovejoy hell bent on going after jack and rose during the sinking. it was unnecessary drama and took away from the actual sinking.
@@extrasoap4881I think it was tonally off, it was like an action movie out of nowhere and it just felt weird
Lovejoy was quite an ironic name for old Spicer, wasn't it?
i almost cried watching this, its so sad to me how eventhough she wanted to die, rose lived for jack, and eventhough all he wanted to do was live, jack died for rose 😭😭❤❤
I got the chills reading this comment. So poetic ❤
That was beautiful. I wish everyone else realized that.
One thing we should also not forget, Jack was still alive (in a special way) through Roses memories of him...😊
Almost?
Well said.🇵🇭❤
I think most of these scenes provide much needed context.
They briefly show Lovejoy again as the ship starts to break in half. It's only a few seconds.
23:05 that’s Charles John Joughin who survived, over 2 hours in the water. He helped save lives, forcibly putting women and children onto the lifeboats and throwing over chairs for people in the water.
the video does not have options for spanish, french, portuguese and german
You also see him later on the stern next to Rose
The casting was so good for this. I `knew who everybody was immediately when I saw them.
@@fancyfree8228 i hope when they show this on tv they show the deleted scenes too
best part is he was wasted during the sinking 😭
I cried very hard with the scene of the mother and children in 3rd class. She was calming them down when the water was coming on the ship. Broke my heart back then and still does.
foster parents are kinda dicks huh
Really sad.. so they dont see it..
Legendary kate....
She carried the film on her shoulders even after so much of her editing
Now we can see through these scenes, why jack fell for her beauty (inside as well as outside)
And her voice is amazing too.... Her smile... Her expressions.... Just beauty personified
Why can't people watch things on YT without the need to antagonize everything?! jfc the whole movie is memorable and it's obvious the movie is about Rose's story *because they made it quite clear throughout it all.* 🤌🤦♂️
Plus Kate was already revered for this movie at the time.
@@victorsamsung2921 you are absolutely right........ You n me share the exact same views....
So many if only's, but thanks for doing this video, it was worth it, how this footage stayed hidden for so long is beyond me, RIP Bill Paxton.
Same feeling! The nightmare they gone through more painful than death :( Seeing loved ones going down with ship right in front of eyes...
I don't see this film as a movie, i see this as an ART, this is ART! Man, congratulations to James Cameron.
You should see it as a movie considering that's exactly what it is. Not sure why you're creating a separation between film and art like they're not one and the same.
Movies ARE art lol.
Said like someone who doesn't understand movies or art
@@jonathanb1406Even a Banana with Masking Tape also can become an Art piece, why movie can't?
This is more than art. "Art" is ridiculous these days. It is just a masterpiece. Pure and simple.
@@josephjoe4180 oh cool didn't know that! Thanks for the insight. Makes sense.
Hard disagree. Feels too long and silly, especially as they're crawling and wading through the freezing Atlantic water like its nothing
Ida and isidor💔 that scene should've been kept, Titanic victims and survivors should be remembered and respected
Exactly!
Thanks for your unconditional love and support towards my career. I really appreciate. May God bless you fan, what’s your favorite movie?
He was also in Back to the Future as one of Biffs thugs. His character was called Match. A lot of people missed that.
For such an asshole of a character, Billy Zane really is such a nice guy irl
I'm glad they decided to cut that ending out. The scene they chose was more powerful. 'A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets.' They made her keep her word. No further explanation was needed.
Ida and Isidore made me cry and so did Cora's death.
Agreed. Lovett's just not important enough of a character to end the movie on. I didn't care whether he had closure or not.
The boiler room scene would’ve been so iconic if kept in the film
I am from India .. watched this epic atleast a 20 times in my life...i was 17 yrs old during the movie release. Titanic not just a movie its a emotion with nostalgic experience and a beautiful feeling.. Rose Jack and The TITANIC IS A HISTORY..we are blessed to have watched this beautiful movie
"Down to 3rd class" scene would have made a lot more sense to leave in, it gave us a good glimpse of what 3rd class was like and man, despite not being wealthy, they were all so happy! loved that scene
25 Years and still can't get enough of this timeless piece of Art!🌹🌟💯
one thing i noticed in these scenes is that in the gymnasium, the guy tells Rose's mother to try out the rowing machine and she's like "oh don't be absurd! can't imagine a skill I'd likely need less!" but then later on in the life boat, she's seen struggling to row the boat. made me laugh like yess pull those oars sis 😍

Also "how about a little ice" while the ship was striking the iceberg was hysterical
i didn’t understand the californian wireless scene
@@kittypixie.x2 guys in black (from another place) were trying to warn them about the iceberg but the men on the titanic didnt want to listen to them for some reasons (i guess they used to contact them a lot of non important stuff and they got annoyed)

But California was basically next to them (the guy says in the clip “and listen to that. Sounds like they’re right on top of us”)
So when they chimed in it basically came as a loud ring
And Jack had basically gotten no sleep because they spent the night before fixing the telegraph which broke the day before (when they finished it was Jacks shift. Bride said he would do it but Jack insisted he should)
So when this loud ring came into his ear it just made him upset so he told him to shut up
It wasn’t his or the other wireless fault
He was tired and it’s not like that was the only ice warning they got they got many over the entire course of the trip even about the Ice field
He shouldn’t have said to shut up but he was tired and he did his job
He died in the sinking and he died a hero cause if it wasn’t for him the rescue ship wouldn’t have come

Low-IQ shitty puns like that belong in Michael Bay movies, not in a masterpiece.

Was that the same guy who was sinking rose and Jack had to punch him?
I love watching some of the deleted scenes when they first came out. My favourite scene is when Cora calls Jack Uncle Jack it's so sweet and heartwarming
I like Billy Zane's character. He has those natural villains' eyes.
And voice
I actually like the alternate ending a bit more than the one in the released movie. It looked like Lovett ended up having a spiritual experience at the end when Rose flicked the diamond into the ocean. She told him that life is the only thing that is priceless, and about making each day count. I think when he burst out laughing there, and seeing his laughter from the overhead crane shot, that symbolized his letting go of greed, and truly understanding.
Fear Allah
Don't die as a disbeliever
Ida: Sorry 😢
Eh, Lovett's just not important enough of a character to end the movie with.
Bills reaction seemed a little forced and illogical to be used as the end scene, IMO
