This is unbelievable. I would say I'm pretty good at imitating knopfler, but this is on another level. Even the ad lib bits of the solo are in his compositional style, and this strikes a nerve just like when I've seen knopfler live.

Not only has this video entered a great band to my heart. But also made me appreciate Knopfler's creative genius on a whole new level.
How could something like this even have been composed by a mere man.
I long for the day when we can gather like this without fear and concern. That guitar playing is nothing short of pure awesomeness.
The song is basically one whole lead section with vocals interspersed. It's a really cool song in that way. Even more incredible is how Knopfler did both the vocals and the lead on the track. Great cover from this band and guitar player👍 .
Hands down amazing. Even Knopfler himself might mistake this for his own guitar playing. I need to listen to it again right away, I can't get enough.
His strumming/picking hand dances… it looks so effortless. I could’ve started practicing for 10 hours a day every day at age 8, and at age 50, I wouldn’t be able to play like this.
Beautiful, but … I wish this guy had more success in music. He deserves it.

Unbelievable…. All those muted strings sounds are incredible.
I'm not a musician but this guy has to be one of the most talented guitar players in the world.
This is a cover band musician who plays something he did not invent, just a copy, so keep your hair on. This is not Beethoven, just a pop song with a standard chord progression which has been yused over and over in hundreds of songs. Morever due to modern digital devices any halfway good player can extract any instrument, slow the speed down and copy it note by note. So this is a good performance of a great song, no more no less.

It's not hard if you want to play is sloppily - like most covers we hear. However, it is (as a pro Guitarist myself) VERY hard to play if you want to be faithful to Knopfler's feel and style.

I play the isolated video all the time and played this one by accident. Took a couple minutes to realize it wasn’t mark.
