It's sad to see MicroUSB still being integrated into brand new products. The MicroUSB connector was developed from MiniUSB for smartphones that wanted an ever thinner connector - but it's far less robust and reliable than the older MiniUSB connector. Also, it's 2023.. USB-c is the logical choice to use these days
100%
It's so blatantly egregious that I'd have a hard time believing it wasn't intentional. Why tho? Poss money. Also Yamaha always does stuff like this. Like when they didn't want to put midi ports on the Reface Dx And Cs and instead give you a completely non standard, proprietary midi in and out BREAKOUT CABLE. Genius.
Seriously, no USB C? Thats a deal breaker for me. I hate cable clutter.
Why are some people always whining?
USB cable, USB conversion adapters, and headphones are included to guarantee you can get straight to beat-building right out of the box
No one is whining about access virus - they discontinued support but they still sell and they haven’t made any new model in the longest time. While the Japanese keep innovating. Thanks to Roland, Yamaha and korg, we have had incredible music and genres of music.
"This is rock'n'roll."
"I understood that reference."
This looks like a higher quality version of this Zoom drum machine I had in the early 2000s. I loved that thing. It was so comfortable to play. I’ll definitely try one of these out as I don’t really care for my current midi controller and I’m not a pianist so this pad layout looks super intuitive.
These look nice. Great to see something other than the usual 4x4 grid.
As someone who has given up on drums due to the lack of place and time to practice, this looks really interesting.
1500 internal drum sounds
120 preset kits
600 seconds user sample time, 20 seconds max per pad/sample.
you can record your performance back onto USB memory key.
velocity curves for pads
RGB pad lights for top buttons on the 50 version
2.5 watt speaker/amp
Yamaha is not marketing this unit correct.
1500 internal drum sounds, 120 preset kits, 600 seconds user sample time and this is the best song they could make to showcase their instrument?
I like this pad arrangement
😂 honestly, back to the cheesy drum sounds of 90s drum computer ? I like it...
It sounds high quality.
Can you make a video introducing the functions in the setup menu of fgdp 30 and fgdp 50?
Micro USB?
microusb? Did they get a deal on those connectors or something, wtf?
okay okay, but when are the Montage M videos dropping? :)
Oi .. yamaha are doing NEW products... get in line buddy boy!
No to usb mini
THANK YOU YAMAHA
Yamaha! Please, make a hardware tracker
Why? Just buy an existing one.
And in 2023 Yamaha created AKAI XR20 on steroids. Or more like Zoom RhythmTrack RT-123.
Why micro usb?!! Why not usbc ??!!!! This is 2023!!

2023年にmicroUSB…
YAMAHA、失望させないでくれ
It's kind of sad how yamaha doesn't cater to professionals anymore. It's insane to think this has usb but Yamaha didn't put actual 5 pin din midi sockets on it. I know Yamaha thinks these are toys and you can tell by the way they're marketing them more like a goof for hobbyists. I'll wait until Yamaha finally gets it and brings out the FGDP-70 that's geared more towards professionals with actual midi sockets.
Companies can't release low-price products anymore, eh? Everything should be 4000€+ and for professional use only, right? Even better Yamaha should only sell their products to studios and nobody else, yeah? Of course with a yearly licensing scheme. Now THAT is professional.
Get outta here man, it's a low-price product for a market that is niche as all hell in the first place. Let them try shit out before committing to it on a larger scale. Yamaha still has a humongous arsenal of instruments and solutions for the professional market (something you clearly aren't part of in the first place).

Seems 15 years too late.
Roland Handsonic is more professional.
