    The mee sua is actually made from red glutinous wine which is fermented over a period of time and then the chicken is cooked in it.

    That fried carrot cake is not the desert carrot cake that you are thinking about George. It's not even close to resembling it, in fact it's not even a carrot, but a radish. It's more a savory dish. If you've had fish or squid balls in the Philippines, it kinda taste like that.

      adding context, radish is called White Carrot in Chinese, hence carrot cakes. Choose the dark version which is sweet. 😄

      You can always ask for takeaway for the 'carrot cake" (radish) and bring it to the hotel room(maybe ask the hotel staff to m/v heat it).

    If you are eating rice out of a plate, it is more practical to use forks and spoons. That's what we usually will do. Unless the rice is put in a bowl, then chopsticks will be practical.

    In Singapore, you can have coffee everywhere at the hawker centre, food court and 'coffee shop' for only SGD$1.00 to $1.40. A coffee shop in Singapore is not a cafe like Starbucks but a non-aircon no-door huge eatery which sells hot and cold beverages with many stalls selling local food. The prices a little more expensive than those at a hawker centre.

    Fun fact! We do have the “mee sua” together with eggs during birthday! And also quite delicious too!
    And also, the red wine chicken mee sua dish that yall had, theres a yellow wine chicken version of the dish, which is a popular hakka dish too! I had it when i was very young and loved it, as my grandma used to cook it for us!

    "Mee Sua" when it's uncooked, come in dried form (like a very fine version of spaghetti) and the taste is much different from the yellow noodles or egg noodles of wanton soup.

    Can I check and be sure that at 11:58 to 12:00, you actually dipped the fried dumpling into soy sauce and ginger as mentioned in the video? Because most people would normally eat their fried dumplings with ginger and black vinegar instead. While the two might have the same colour, soy sauce is salty while black vinegar is sour.

    • @simplyme3306
      @simplyme3306 5 місяців тому +1

      It should be vinegar and ginger not soy. I noticed a few youtubers mistaken black vinegar for soy sauce😂I wonder why as they taste completely different.

    • @JSimHZ
      @JSimHZ 5 місяців тому +1

      @@simplyme3306 I am equally puzzled as to how they mistaken black vinegar for soy sauce. The only possible reason I can think of is that they regard vinegar as something that only exists as a clear colourless liquid resembling water while soy sauce only exists as a brownish black liquid. So when a brownish black vinegar like Chinkiang (Zhenjiang) Vinegar does exist, they straightaway assume that the brownish black liquid is soy sauce and not vinegar.

    local drinks at the hawker centre would include soya bean milk and local coffee called kopi.
    If you just order regular kopi, it might be too sweet for Western taste buds as there is condensed milk and sugar. However, kopi is highly customizable, so you could try kopi with evaporated milk with no sugar (kopi-c kosong) or with less sugar (kopi-c siew tai) which should be more manageable for most Western palates.
