Looking to buy a 2002 Fatboy with the 88ci Motor and was wondering if anyone knows if they suppose to whine when downshifting ? The one I’m looking at whines when downshifting gears and only when downshifting
Sold both twin cams and just bought a very clean one owner low mileage 98 Fatboy I can work on like my 72 FLH. I wouldn't trade the 98 or the 72 for a brand new Harley.
Scott Jackson Fuck yes! I ride a 98 Low Rider! I love my Evo to pieces! I've been teased by the Twin Cam riders I know for running a "little 80 incher", but they don't know mine has been modded. Got a Big Sucker intake (with the stock air cleaner cover on it), Vance & Hines Twin Slash mufflers, Screaming Eagle ignition, rejetted CV carb, and the Andrews EV-27 cam. My bike looks Plain-Jane, but I've beat the brakes off their 88's and 96's, and I can roll with the 103's no sweat. The 110's are a different story lol. Todd is right. Everyone is all about that "Twin Cam", because they're bigger with all these improvements. But the Evo is just that perfect bridge between the classic Big Twin simplicity and modern design. They're bulletproof (if you don't fuck them up), easy to build on, and sound/feel like what a Harley should. Long live the Evo!
+wartooth6 that's badass, yeah my evos lungs are built up too. fuck Twinkies, evo's are more reliable and sound way better. twinscams are pieces of shit. my next motor will be an s&s 96" Evo.
You’ve got those same massive turn signals too, not sure if your happy with them? I removed the left side cover plate behind the head light and there’s 2 spots to plug in. One for the running light the other is an alternate turn signal. I just unplugged the running light and moved it over to the other one. Now my running light is a turn signal and I can loose the ones on the handle bars, might have to find an orange bulb now. Haha . I put on 39” beach bars and lowered then. But the signals always hit the tank. D,oh. Cheers. Jari
Did the oil get changed before it was ridden? Im always weary of super low mileage vehicles. Did the guy only ride it once one year and never changed the oil and rode it a few times next season on the same old sludge? "well it was only ridden once" .....
You guys Stateside don't know how lucky you are having all these tasty old evos coming on the market. The kids don't want em cos they slow, & the 60+ crowd getting outta cycling. In Australia NZ these are 12$ K our money -@ $US8-9. We pay them off over 3 years. Anyone wanna help me establish an import export business?
@@HuntingHarleysthanks for the response big fan . I own a 2014 HD fortyeight and I found a 97 fatboy in black and I grew up around a 94 fatboy so I just know how good the sound and motor are and I would like to ask if it’s worth selling my 2014 fortyeight for the 97 evo fatboy with 20,000 miles on it with all original parts matching numbers s&s cabutator ? I would be getting money in my pocket from selling the forty eight(I’m not rich ) Where I’m from harleys are worth double the price. I’m just a Harley fanatic
I have no idea what a 48 is worth. A super clean 91 to 99 EVO big twin cam be had fairly easily in the USA in the 5k range. I highly suggest buying the new bike 1st then selling the 48.
@@HuntingHarleys yeah i would buy the 97 fatboy I have enough to buy the fatboy he’s asking around 13,000 k for it I live in Ecuador so harleys are double their worth but I was born and raised in New York i would like to pay altleast 8 to 9k for it and then just just sell my 2014 sporster and get my money back and more. Hoping one day to start a Harley business like you on day thanks a lot
i got the coolest 97 fatboy. and i crashed it, in the shop now. my soul hurts not having it

im in LOVE!!
I have black 95.sick cool bike evo
Sounds good
I have a black 97 FLSTF, but it doesn't have three headlights.
I actually want the three light setup.
So is it the FLSTF ?
The pre 99 models ?
Very Kool
What Kind of exhaust is this? Really loud...
Qué modelo es??
I have 98 low miles same color never touched all original seat pipes one owner found it on graiglist !
There's a red one at longhorn Harley Davidson. 96 with 300 miles.
sounds like a nice bike
With Evos you need to warm them up before you wrap on it you'll blow the head gaskets.
Gurn Blanstein base gaskets go 1st. Head gaskets blow from manifold leaks or improper torque.
Cool bike
👍 I just found a 94 flstf fat boy with only 15 miles on her. There keepers alright.
NICE

I have one same year last four numbers of vin is 1903 cool as hell dont no how rare that is but I thought it was cool
turn signal problems, nice bike easy fix
Does anyone know if these bikes are counter balanced or rubber mounted ?
All EVO softtails are ridgid mounted. Some 4 speed, most 5 speeds
Ok thanks.

i suppose neighbours don't like you ;), awesome bike
right rear light is out
Are the 96' 97' clean, low mile Evo Heritages worth getting too?? Have a lead on one..
100% awesome motorcycles, they are a bottomed out price of 5 to 6k in perfect condition. That means buy now or pay thousands more later
@@HuntingHarleys Thanks Todd. Just didn't know if Heritage was as worth getting as Fatboy
They are both awesome
@@HuntingHarleys Thanks so much
Can you still find replacement running lights for these?
Ebay
@@HuntingHarleys Thank you!!
Out of interest, what did you get for this bike when you sold it?
no clue, that was 2 years ago
I have a 1998 Fatboy with 11k EVO motor with the stalker kit!!! It’s on my channel you would love it
Price?
Sold years ago
Would you be able to find another one?
easily, all it takes is a little time and that magic thing called M O N E Y
Nearly new huh?
😄
How much this Harley would be worth now?
Around 7-9k tops, if that. EVO prices are tanked
