I always wanted to main hunter. I have had an alt since wrath I play but coming from always tanking and healing I can’t stand how long dps ques are. Survival has been fun since legion and I’m now really considering it despite the wait times.
Maybe there's something wrong with me but I have absolutely loved Surv Hunter ever since Legion. People are always surprised when I'm topping the DPS in M+. Now it's getting even better!
I love it too. I mainly do BGs and it’s really fun there. I’m almost always the only SV Hunter. It feels like you play something no one else plays and a lot of people seem surprised when the hunter runs right at them lol. There’s lots of utility for PvP, traps, flare, mobility, engages, disengages, turtle shell, multiple slows, and a pet to love/hate. It’s clunky and weird and not the simplest or easiest spec but if you can really shine in a group if you know when to disengage from battle, protect your teammates, and scout the other teams positions and ambush their nodes.
Great video. I hope you can make one showing dueling, world pvping and battlegrounds after the latest changes. Also, I thought I read somewhere that FS and MB will be reverted back to their previous iterations due to all the feedback.
Yeah that’s unfortunate I think… I hope next iteration will be decent. To be fair, I think the class might have gotten a bit too “de-bloated”. And we can easily squeeze in Flanking Strike, without it getting bloated again. 🙂 I hate that mongoose bite is being changed back though….. that is crazy in my opinion
I know it may sound crazy, but with the rework on those defensive abilities, the fact that we can actually Taunt, how far fetch would it be, with a few more tweaks, to actually have Survival as the first ever Mail Tanking class.
The new flanking strike might be the death of the spec. I want to go melee when i want to, not when i push kill command. Soooooo dumb. I absolutely cannot fathom why they are sticking with this. Wow devs these days are the worst lol. Hope im wrong. Everything else seems awesome. But that will make the spec unplayable if i have to go melee every third kill command.
Depends on how you look at it, because the play style has completely changed, so mongoose fury is much more essential to your rotation. So you HAVE to use mongoose bite in the rework. So getting close every 4th kill command, synergises well with the new play style. 🙂 we HAVE to stick to our target to dps, and having flanking strike constantly, helps with that. I think the “not wanting to get close”, is a habitual mindset, which DF survival hunters have gotten because of how SV is in DF. We have better defensives now in TWW, and mongoose bite is more essential now. So we need to rewire our brains to not see “melee as being bad”. 🙂 But I get that the new playstyle might not be for everyone.
@@KroesGaming Thats not it at all. Even with more defensives leaping into packs and boss mechanics when you press kill command will kill the spec for any serious players. Doing mechanics in dundeons, raids, and pvp require lots of TIMING and precision. This means there will be long stretches where you can't push kill command because it will leap you into certian death.
They said they're going to revert the mongoose fury and flanking strike changes before this video came out. You should probably do some research before spreading false information.

Well be sad cause they are reverting changes to flanking strike and mongoose fury because apparently people where complaining. I loved the new mongoose fury change and I was loving the flanking strike passive baking and tip of the spear management. Didn't like the positioning of it being random per say but the rest of its effect ok the rotation were fantastic. And the mongoose fury change was so damn good. But it's being reverted. So annoying
Not to be rude, but you're playing a non-hybrid DPS class. Heals aren't supposed to be a huge part of your toolkit. That 90% dmg reduction from feign death isn't nearly as necessary in PvE as in PvP. In PvE, you feign and the threat drops to your tank (or your pet if solo), in PvP you feign and the player just retargets you before you even really get use out of the ability. It's an MMO, not every class needs everything, the group needs to make up for each others shortcomings. And in solo, each class should have their own style; i.e. we don't need every class to have a huge stock of defensives, self heals, insane burst, mobility, etc. Some classes should be more defense oriented, some more self sustain oriented, some more burst oriented, some more mobility oriented. The idea that every class needs to be the same and have every option is a huge detracts from the fantasy of the classes and just makes them all the same with stylistic differences in the aesthetics of the abilities.
I agree. However because of how WoW has changed, we need to be able to survive in solo content as well. Otherwise Delves will be impossible to do on certain classes. I love that we are getting the option of doing solo content, and with that follows a change to how the game functions at its core. Luckily there is always Classic, for people who enjoys the version of WoW we had, back when class fantasy was an important part of the structure of the games content. 🙂
You’re so close… The idea that each spec within the class has to be the same is the problem. Wow isn’t just classes, it’s specs, and Survival Hunter is a unique spec. It’s a hybrid hunter that does melee and ranged and it’s the melee that necessitates more sustain. They may need to tune it, but survival hunter absolutely needed more survivability and these changes did nothing to reduce its unique identity or that of any other spec.
So hunters can keep running a def trinket and be next to unkillable, kite you easier and their damage is better and easier to perform which they already did good DPS to begin with. Sounds op and will be nerfed.
@@wisnius2657 😂... The way I have my keybinds set up, allow me to easily access 60 spells at any time. 🙂 I use Shift, Ctrl, and Alt modifiers, together with a 12 button MMO mouse, and the Q, E, R, and F keys. This includes scrolling and scroll wheel clicking.
I have played Arcane Mage quite a lot too yes. 🙂 From my understanding they are addressing some of the bloat, in TWW too? Either way, it's only good that we bring issues to light, when it comes to the specs we enjoy.
Survival hunter is just too clunky and poorly designed. Might be great for pve, but as a pvper, I’m very unhappy with survival. I don’t think it’s bad, I just think it’s clunky, the rotation feels fucking weird, it feels extremely uneventful, and the dmg really isn’t that good in PvP still. I can top dmg sometimes in skins, but it’s all aoe bullshit 🤣.
They could make the mongoose bite turn into flanking strike instead of the kill command (after 3x kill commands), would make more sense.

Yes they said, they are working on a new iteration of hiw MB and FS work. Gonna be interesting!

You will be put into melee range even when you dont want to be. Definitly not an improvement. Complete fail.
