    One has to stop by (may be sabbatical) and look what one is up to otherwise life will be over in a whisker. Very wise words and I enjoyed every bit of it except for the first few minutes recording issue. 💐👌🙏

    If you are not in the financial market space right now, you are making a huge mistake. I understand that it could be due to ignorance, but if you want to build generational wealth, and cultivate financial knowledge, you must be in the market..>

      I think he chose those words with a purpose. "I once had a daughter..." because that daughter dramatically changed. The daughter he referred to earlier was not the same daughter anymore after she learned her "life's purpose." Just my two cents, lols

    These principles aren't too smart if they're driven by anything less than a LIVING WAGE.

    • @Losloth
      @Losloth 7 років тому +6

      Yes, thank you for saying this. It's good to have some grip on personal identity and an idea of what you want - but it's pretty hard to find if you're working twelve hours a day, and THEN getting home to run a family.
      Also, for many people, finding their purpose is not hard - they will be told by everybody what their purpose is. For women all around the world, their stated purpose is to take care of the family; first the one they are born into, then the one they marry into. And, for the men, they have to bring money in for the family. For all those in these situations, breaking away from the first goal for their life is the greatest step.

      @ritagmiller52 7 років тому +7

      You are missing the point. Getting a 'living wage' is not a driver of purpose. Getting any external incentive is extraneous to a purpose-driven life. Having a purpose comes from within, and when that purpose is spelled out and internalized, everything outside of us changes. Didn't you listen to the story of his daughter? Her life changed, including her work life, when she found and was motivated by her purpose. She changed inside, and that made her a more effective and desirable employee, as well as a more desirable mate. Her life changed because she had a purposeful focus for her energy. If you're in a low-wage job, finding your purpose, understanding where you want to go and who you want to be, will change your life. This works for anyone, no matter what their external circumstances.

    • @Losloth
      @Losloth 7 років тому +2

      Maybe I didn't express myself so clearly, because I don't quite think the response hit the mark.
      I agree mostly with his idea of internal motivation, but I try to highlight two aspects of life that may hinder you from finding an internal purpose. Firstly, your life may be so tough that you simply don't have the energy to do the thinking and critical reflection necessary to identify such an inner purpose. Maybe you also have a poor education, and is not capable of formulating your feelings so exactly.
      The second thing is; the purpose that is given to you socially, may take the place of an internal purpose; for instance, say you are told that it is your mission to spread the good news of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. You may feel very internally motivated do do so, but these ideas are substituting what would be your purpose, were you in a different situation. Further, deviating from this purpose will land you in trouble with your family.
      Yep, but for many of those in these kinds of situations, an strong personally made inner purpose would maybe have helped them, if they could get there.

      I understand that. But what he is presenting is only possible when the Living Wage issue is satisfied, in healthy people.

    • @jackdawcaw4514
      @jackdawcaw4514 6 років тому +5

      I'm surprised by these replies. It isn't true that we can only consider our purpose in life when we have the minimum living wage checked off. We can always formulate what gives our life meaning and purpose. Then, we start to grow, shift, and notice opportunities more. We start to take (calculated) risks that before we maybe were not only too careful to take, but too insecure to take. We start to find meaning and purpose in the lives that we are already living too. This isn't just about dreaming big. It is about figuring out what life is offering you right here and now, and how you can extract the maximum amount of purpose and meaning from it, by channeling your energies to those aspects. It's a way of focusing and reevaluating where you are and what the possibilities are. It's easy to stay stuck in the position of poor little me but it doesn't help you. I'm not downplaying the difficulties and suffering of life, but where you put your focus is what grows. It doesn't help you to focus on that.
