I have been listening to this jam every day for the past 2 years. It's part of my morning routine on my commute to work, and then when I hike on the weekends, I listen to the whole show. Get in a lot of miles!
Ha, I listen to it every day, too. Sometimes I only get to the end of Cassidy, sometimes all the way to set 2. Only made it through the whole show once!
Hey me too!! In another time's forgotten space Your eyes looked from your mother's face Wildflower seed on the sand and stone May the four winds blow you safely home Roll away the dew Roll away the dew Roll away the dew Roll away the dew I'll tell you ... The lyrics were written by Robert Hunter, and the music was composed by Jerry Garcia and Bill Kreutzmann. Let’s dive into the poetic imagery of this classic tune. 🎶 ⚓️💖⚓️🎶
Lots of folks (including me) think this is on par with (or better than) the Cornell show the previous day. Wherever you land, remember that these gigs were performed with audiences of 3-4 thousand not stadiums.
I was at this show, the night after the splendid Barton Hall effort, and swear I remember Garcia’s two fuck ups on the lyrics. This was a great show! I was a student at SUNY Buffalo, and everyone was there!
Dude it's really not fair to anyone tribute ban or otherwise, to even halfway replicate how freaking good this is omg. I'm not sure if they even could have omgosh y'all Weeeew HOOOO!
I just listened to several versions of this jam from 1976 which were all fantastic but at the same time it's amazing how much tighter the 77 versions are such as this one. The guitars and piano are in tune and the playing and vocal Harmonies are tighter. I love the 76 shows but the guitars were often out of tune which I find distracting . But from 77 onwards their seems to be alot more effort out into intonation and tuning I often found myself thinking if these guys have guitar techs they should be fired for not knowing how to intonate a guitar.
i haven't heard every single 2300+ show but of the 1000's i've seen/heard this is THE BEST help/slip/frank out there, barring personal attachments to ones actually attended.
yup itz amazing during that spring 77 rip they were on. sadly dead and co. cant tour often enough. mabey they priced themselves outtA fall and or spring tours
There's music... there's good music... there's good live music... And then thanks to God above, there WAS the Grateful Dead 👍. And of course God takes the good. Why would he take less than that?? 🤔😊😂

It absolutely never gets old! ❤️💀🌹
@@cweakleyEPIC "Big River", "Peggy O", "Comes A Time", etc. The entire show smokes 5-7-77 IMHO.
Cosmic.

To have been on the 77 tour... this and the Cornell show. Wish I was alive back then!
Have you heard anything from say Europe 72 through 73?
I like 77 but I believe it a bit hyped up..all the Estimated's..
All time favorite song trio....best version I’ve heard!
Gerri White is that available here on YT or on a Dicks Picks? Always in search for the perfect trio! Thanks !!
10/9/1976 is Oakland CA Dicks Picks Vol 33. Nice to think my parents would have crossed the Bay to take their newborn baby to the show......
Dead and company do a wild version of it.

Cornell is outstanding but I can be argued that the shows leading up to it and directly after it are just as good and some may even be better ..
imo, cornell is the 3rd best show that week and maybe the 6th or 7th show that month
I prefer this 1 over Cornell.
A no brainer IMHO.
Time Travel To Do List: May 77, June 74, December 73, May 72, April 71, May 70, February 69, and on and on.
All of 81...
Don't forget fall 1989.
Best 'Help>Slipknot>Franklin's Tower' performances were on '77, same for 5/22 one and others, high level musicianship, flow of consciousness music!
8-13-75.

It is nice to hear you long long time deadheads chime in with your knowledge and experiences. That's why they're the GOAT

cuz dead and co is on a tear right now
How can there only be 10 comments on this sick jam
@@chadcappadona8520 makes most speechless, nothing to add
amazeballs
By my ears, the quintessential edition. Tbe energy at the start defines, and the tightening of the slipknot releases to a fault.❤
This is the dopest version of these songs... Hands down.
the 5/22/77 Pembroke Pines HSF is the best of all time. Same mix, faster tempo, longer and better solos. ua-cam.com/video/G1paO3Zn9Hs/v-deo.html
@@rolfwitt9576 disagree, DP3 is meh as far as I'm concerned, I'll take One From the Vault any day over it for pure fun and energy.
2/26/77 SLIPKNOT! is my fave
Thats a perfect franklins. Better than perfect.

I respect you, Brother, but comparing 1977 GD with Dead & Company is a bad look.
Sweet Jesus ❤️
Any help is great help. Lock bolt and key. Yeeeeah
45 years ago today🍺
I like the slipknots from 1984 Check out Niagara falls sick one 9 minutes
Weird how far Jerry is down in the mix.............
Love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Almost got through it without missing a lube..lol.for my money the 1st one was the best one..8/13/75
Yeah but that one was so super rehearsed, it sounded exactly like the record. These other versions allow for way more far out stuff..........
My birthday 🎉
ive seen weir 150plus times and dead and co has bin the best
Dayum that sucks.

This lies. Phil was never a woman at any point.

2/26/77 Help>Slip>Frank is better
